I hardly ever 100% games but the Spider-Man series is a major exception because how fun it is to move around and feel like the heroes. I'm excited to do more of the same. The story (especially Mile's) never clicked for me like it did for Tim. And the amount of actions that felt tedious did wear down on my experience as well. Still very excited for the game, I hardly ever spend $70 on new games anymore but this will be an exception.

I will never forget playing Miles Morales in the first two days of having my PS5, after saying up all night for two days straight trying to get one, and getting the console three weeks after I ordered it. Sitting in my living room with my LG C1 playing 120 hz on a. console for the first time. top 10 gaming moment for mee.

Hearing Tim’s preview thoughts have made me more hyped for this game than I already was. The wing suit is about to be sick!

Woooo, can’t wait! Beat the previous two as my first games on PS5 and it was awesome.

Love what i'm hearing about this game. Insomniac is delivering yet again cant wait to play Spider-Man!

I have played most of insomniacs games. And I have to say Insomniac has never made a direct sequel that wasn’t exponentially better than the game before. This game is going to be so much better than 2018. I have ZERO doubts.

We use Rose, Bud, Thorn in my workplace for reporting and it’s wild hearing it used during Kinda Funny

my daughter watched and played the first 2 games with me and its my long weekend of having her as its half term so cant wait to have 4 days of playing it along with her 🎉🎉

To sum up, basically Tim was blown away by the game. The footage we've seen in trailers so far doesn't even scratch the surface of what you can do. Plus the side missions are very impactful and surprising. There's more variety in enemies, The Dualsense is incorporated a lot which improves immersion. Definitely, a day one buy and Game of The Year Contender.😎

@AR_112 Unless you're a hardcore Zelda fan. Nobody's talking about that game 2 week after It came out. This isn't like back in a day people have diff taste now. Plus I'm going by relevancy and recency bias

My only gripe with the first two games is the finishers going in slow motion constantly always slowed down the flow of combat. There were a few times when a finisher would go at normal speed and it felt SOOOO MUCH BETTER. Just give us an option to google slow motion off and it’s a 10/10 for me 😅

I’ve always thought the way the city evolved and reacted to the events of the story in 2018 was really cool. One of the very few open world games where I actually noticed the city and it’s inhabitants as more than just window dressing. So excited to see how that aspect has grown.

Is it like in Ghost of Tshushima where you really do look at the world and know where to go? Or is it still more, open map, find icon, go look and THEN see it? This is the best channel for unbiased and genuine analysis and judgment. He made me that much hype for Spiderman and I know they showed maybe like 30 or 40% or less of the game. Based on everything we've seen up until this point, as well as Tim's impressions, I'm not expecting Spider-Man 2 to blow my mind. But I'm incredibly excited to play another one of these games that are just so much fun to play moment-to-moment. I'm also looking forward to Insomniac's spin on the Venom story. There's not much more to say really. It just looks good.

This is not just a complaint about what Tim says because a lot of people do it in the industry. Saying “if you didn’t like the first game you are not going to like the DIRECT sequel” is not helpful. Of course that’s the case. Unless it’s a clear change like RE3 to RE4 or God of War 3 to God of War 2018 then I would expect a direct sequel to be similar to prior games. It’s a very “duh” moment.

He talked about Miles so much more than Peter. Almost felt like he was over compensating for the fact that Peter gets more screen time in the game but Miles has a lot to do in the open world. Trying to soften the blow for Miles fans who thought the story would be straight up 50-50.

P.S. I Love Andy’s Hoodie

I disagree with Tim on the matter that Games are separated into "Prestige award-worthy" and "blockbuster fun" like how it's done with movies, as if those can be both equally great in their own way. Any video games, regardless of the subject matter can reach that Prestige award-worthy level through cheer fun alone and ingenuity in gameplay mechanics. Nintendo and From Software proof that. Movies are seen in a different light because awards usually focus on the quality of storytelling, but the added dimension of interactivity in games gives them a much higher ceiling for greatness.

Gonna probably be the best superhero Spider-Man game we get. Insomniac really might make one of the best video games in general despite superhero or not. If they can just make the world even more interesting because traversing is just that much fun. If they can tie a super solid story then that’s it. I’m a pure fun to run around as Spider-Man, and Morales so much improved on the open world. This thing is gonna be amazing if they pull all of it off

I was totally ignorant to this eruption of video game-based internet blogs that has cropped up until I started getting excited for this particular launch recently. It’s so jarring how huge this market seems to have grown with people sending “support” or buying subs on all these sites that simply didn’t have the nerve to exist a very short time ago. Makes me want to start one and retire hella early lol a lot of these guys struggle noticeably to hide their D+ English class ass when trying their best damnedest to artfully describe a games “lore, kinda talky-talky stuff” or the “video-game-ness” that really makes this particular video game stand taller than the rest. Lol it’s like damn you can a least read a couple books a year and try to learn to communicate like an adult if I gotta watch you play pretend grownup in a rainbow accented newsroom while you wear dri-fit head to toe and ask me for money

One of my biggest concerns (which kinda got me talked out of pre-ordering this) is the size/length of the game. Would you say that this offers a lot to do? Because I have to look at how much I played of the first one but essentially once i cleared the story and side missions, i haven't picked up the game since. Haven't played Miles Morales yet since i want to get that at a reduced price (maybe during the holidays?). I'm essentially swapping this with playing/buying Baldur's Gate 3 since that I've heard you can cram a TON of hours into it.

I mean, BG3 is far and away more content to offer, but it’s about what you enjoy doing. If you like being Spider-Man for 30-40 hours, you’ll probably like this more. If you enjoy the BG3 style more, etc.

Tim has been spending too much time with Carboni. I've never heard the phrase "of it all" used more than in this video.

Man, I’m still so unsure about this. I don’t want to do the open world stuff again, but feel like that’s going to be most of the grind of the game. Making me wonder if the story is going to be worth it for 70 bucks.

Loved the 2018 Spiderman and Miles Morales...but this is having the COD effect on me. I know it is going to look better but the combat, tedious side missions and upgrades (I am going to skip over many) are going to be about the same i feel. I think y’all need to stop by this “insomniac is good but not on the level of god of war or last of us” bullshit. These guys are the ones carrying this PS5 generation so far. I struggle to call the last of us a tier above Spider-Man and as much as I like god of war I wouldn’t say it’s better than Spider-Man. Maybe GoW has a little better writing but I’d rather swing around in Spider-Man. Insomniac games aren’t for everyone but they are clearly S tier.

Queens and Brooklyn are too small. Queens itself is at least double the size of Manhattan, maybe 3 times. From the map they showed, the majority of it, including where Spider-Man lived and went to school in the comics isn't even there. You won't get to see the glory of our Jerk Off Stands unless you're in person, or GTA decides to go back to NYC, I guess. 😢

I know because I grew up in and still live near that neighborhood and it's not on the map. Peter went to Forest Hills High School on 110th Street and 65th Ave. and lived in Rego Park, the next neighborhood over. That map doesn't even go to Jackson Heights distance wise and you would still have to hit the neighborhoods of East Elmhurst, Elmhurst, and Corona before you even got to Rego Park and then Forest Hills. They changed it to be more in line with the MCU Spider-Man where he lived in Woodside to make it easier to deal with smaller buildings as the farther you get out in Queens the less buildings over 6 stories there are. Also, the first game didn't even have all of Manhattan.

In the comics, he lived and went to school in Queens, it does not need to be on one specific area. Of course, it's going to be a condensed version of the areas, just like the last two games were. It's not a huge deal at all.

I'm not cherry picking, I was hoping they'd represent it the original way instead of taking more shortcuts. The first game was compelling enough to have that big of a world and I was hoping they'd take further advantage of the SSD and include all of Queens and Manhattan at least. There wasn't really a need for Brooklyn yet.
