I love laab I can't tell you how many friends and family make and enjoy this dish side note i use this for weight lost and body building it's low in carbs when you sever it with cucumbers! I also add basil girl😋😋I grow basil JUST FOR THIS DISH💛💛

Marion! I thank you so much for the chili powder magic! I love that I have all the jngredients on hand for this recipe! So much flavour!
Made this the other night. Even with Thai koriander substituted with regular, and brown sugar instead of palm sugar and regular rice instead of glutinous, this was absolutely delicious. thank you so much!
Tried this last night, absolutely outstanding..!
It's so lovely that you were raised on all of these delicious recipes. I was raised on corn chex cereal and mac n cheese :(

I’ve tried this today and it was a hit. Thanks for the recipe ☺️
Fun fact, this Thai dish is a national dish of Laos. Thai cultures play important roles in Laos country. This dish is definitely one of my fav Thai dishes for sure 😁
Who is NOT a huge fan of coriander? Oh my word. That is blasphemous ! Excellent recipe once again Marion. Simply brilliant.
Nice Marion! I laab your videos & recipes!

Hey Marion, I recently found your channel and I subscribed immediately! 😻 Your Channel is the one I Never know I needed, not only are your videos on a high level of filming and editing, my Mom is also from Thailand and I love it, when she cooks for me, but when she’s not around I wanted to know some of the Thai basics (she isn’t that good in explaining her recipes tho)... that’s why I’m so happy, about finding you and your videos! 😍 Keep up your good work, best regards from Germany 🤙🏼
I really love all the food you make its looks delicious♥♥♥ more video to come.
Thank you for spelling it Laab instead of Larb which I see often on Thai menus! Love your videos!
You know a lot of Thai food very deep, love you...Thailand.

Looks so good. I love larb gai, will definitely try this!!
I grew up eating laap too but I would eat it over steamed white rice. So yummy.
Hi Marion. Childhood favorites always bring back since good memories. I found myself trying to recall some of mind. This salad looked so simple and appetizing. Another winner! 🥰😘😍
My mum would make larb all the time! With pork mince or beef strips and sliced red onions. Omg my mouth is watering right now 🤣🤣🤣

Yassss been waiting for this recipe! Can’t wait to make it this weekend
Oh wow looks so fabulous n yummy
Discovered pork laab about a year ago, and absolutely love the combination of flavors. And so easy to prep!!
I had tasted this dish on my local tiny thai restaurant but since we moved to another place i had to look for the recipe and this one is just exactly like in the restaurant. Thank you for sharing!
Made this. Turned out so bloody good.
I love this!
Looks amazing!
Just love watching you and your videos...keep it up love...
This is the kind of spicy, exciting food I keep coming back for. :)
Anyone new to using dried chillies, always wash them first before using. If making powder, you will have to wash and wait for them to dry first. There is a horrible amount of dust on those chillies. PS I am southeast Asian. In Asia, we wash almost anything before using, from veggies, to meat to fruit.
After Pailin i think u r now one of my favorite Thai channels that i love watching. Unlike Chinese n Korean ingredients which are a bit of a task to get hold of in India, Thai ingredients r widely available n they r very similar to Indian cuisine. I love the way u present ur dishes....very simple, no fuss presentations n ur personality is quite good. Anyways i love Thai food. Loads of ❤ to u.
Thanks for the recipe. My favorite Thai place closed down and this was my absolutely favorite dish that no other restraunt I have tried does it the same (I think it was a little more palm sugar). Also, when it sits overnight and marinades.... 🤤
Have loved larb in restaurants, must try this!
Drooling here Marion ..Laab is beautiful
We are having a snow storm here in Colorado, so I didn’t make it to the Asian store to buy sawtooth coriander or mint, but really enjoyed your version of laab. I think I used 1/4 the amount of chili pepper. I served it in butter crunch lettuce cups. So juicy and flavorful!
I live in Malta I try a lot of your recipes they are so delicious and easy thank you , maybe one day I come to Bangkok and meet you that would be so nice .
Tried this recipe and it’s A1!
Omg!!! This is one of my fav I definitely wanna try this.
I enjoy so much seeing you cook. I would love to see you show how to cook honey walnut shrimps in the near future.
I was waiting for this one!!!
When u're hungry and early. Hahaha. I loveeeee your videos
I love making lettuce wraps with laab and sticky rice. Such a yummy combo!!! I think eating laab with sticky rice is so much better than non-sticky rice.
Thank you so much for sharing like it 🌟👌
I watched this and also Pailin's laab and laab woonsen. I ended up making it for my dinner using konjac noodles. Taste good and the only thing I can say is don't be shy on chillies and coriander. It's so yummy!
tried this. it was great
Marion, this Laab salad was really good. We made are own chili powder. I wasn’t too sure which dried chili’s to use so we used dried Japanese peppers (Japone) I think. This salad had so much flavor, it really hit the spot. Thank you for another great recipe, we can always count on you to make dinner time an adventure🤓
I dont know what I like more - you or your food ;-)
I love Thai food so much I can eat it everyday!!! Thank you for the recipe will keep making again and again :)
The other cilantro is also called "culantro" and is often used in north-east Indian cuisine. It also happens to be my absolute favourite herb, followed closely by cilantro.
Just for the record- I LOOOOVE CORIANDER
I just made my own version of this today and did not have mint so I used one tiny drop of spearmint essential oil. Worked great!
I love, love, LOVE Laab. Have made it with pork and also chicken, I'm considering making it with prawns/shrimp, my fav. 'meat!'
Excellent my wife just made this dish
made it "YUMMY"!! : )best recipe M.!
Looks great as always! No spice for me but I bet still great! ❤❤❤
I used cilantro instead and eat it with butter cup lettuce. Such a great and refreshing dish.
looks nice
I made the beef steak style and it was amazing good!!!! I’m sure substituting the chicken with any type of meat would be just wonderful! I tried it with cucumber only and it was bomb!!! Thank you Marion!

The thing u do in Thailand we call it “น้ำตก ( Waterfall )” Because in authentic way we will use the beef that grill until you can see the drop of oil drop in to the fire like starting of the rain then we kinna like larb it ( larb can use as verb in Thailand) Except for namtok we do when the beef still hot or we gonna add some heat while mix every thing together like use low heat for like 20 second when you mix it The test will like larb but less freshness and more sweet and caramelize flavor
Love chicken laab!
Looks really good, to bad i can not eat spicy, great job, great video

You can adjust the level of heat as much as you need. Thai food is adjustable the spicy depend on you.
Sawtooth coriander is also labeled as Culantro or Shado Beni in the states, in case anyone needs help finding.
Thank you so much for not spelling it "larb." You have no idea how glad I am.
Holy guacamole! I like my Asian food spicy, Marion, but judging from this video you prefer yours absolutely incendiary! I know it's an acquired taste, however, I wouldn't be able to taste anything for days if I used the same amount of chili powder you did! Still, I do love your recipe and cooking videos. Having made a few dishes now with quite good success I have just subscribed. _Thank you!_

Will the extra roasted rice flour keep in the pantry? If so how long is the shelf life?

Yes, my mom made several jars at a time. She also roasted the rice with kaffir lime leaf and lemongrass stalk (remove those before grinding).
Wow! I can smell it!! kop khun krap
I know this because 2 channels that I watched (Just Eat Life and Tasty) were cooking this recipe but different ingredients. This one channel, Just Eat Life was cooking the vegetarian version of it, and other channel, Tasty was cooking more like authentic Lao version of it. So, that it...........
Marion, your recipes always look sooo good. You should do a video on Nam Khao Tod! One of my favorite Thai dishes.
I like my chicken in strands.. like pulled pork....... . I boil my whole chicken, then fully strip the meat off using a fork. So my meat are on strands. I like my laab meat chunkier than the normal style grinded meat style... With fresh raw beef or venison, I do small fine cuts to get tiny chunks ( I believe Thai style does also, instead of the full grinded).... with a touch of light Bitterness using fresh stomach bile..... or an alternative if not avail.
Laab love it , helps me lose weight
Cool. All these ingredients (except for sticky rice, palm sugar, and of course sawtooth coriander) can be found in even the worst supermarket here in central/south-ish texas. Plenty of every type of dried chili, plenty of rice, piloncillo might be a little strong to substitute for palm sugar but light brown sugar would work fine, and ya sorry, you're just gonna have to leave the sawtooth coriander (culantro) out unless you can find it in one of the many Mexican produce stores. Also, worth it to grow your own mint, they charge like $4 for a tiny little bunch at the store.
I like to add boiled chicken heart, liver, gizzard, blood in Laab as well. It adds more texture to the dish.
Can you use ground rice powder that has been toasted?
How long it takes to fry the rice .
Thought it said lamb at first lol. Wouldn't some colour give it more flavour? Maybe the idea is to have more of a subtle and light flavour
Marion, cast iron guts. Respect !
Most of people don't know that Larb(laab) isn't Thai food It's Lao/Isan food
I like u food all madam
Aussie likes spicy! me 2 : )
👍❤️
Hello my name is Dayana! my boyfriend didn’t like fish sauce what can I substitute? If I use Salt or soy sauce what is the different taste.
i prefer the lao version. way more flavor and heat
Hmmm...🤔
Would you ever consider making Cambodian food???
