The cool thing about the dictation on the pixel products is that you don't even have to say question mark or period after each sentence, phrase or question. It automatically detects those things.

@@a1000island I meant within the same brand. The iPhone 15 is virtually the same as every iPhone back to the iPhone 11, my Pixel 7 is virtually identical to the Pixel 6 or Pixel 8, etc etc

After trading in an S10+ I ended up getting the 8a for $310, not including the $100 credit that I was also given. If I didn't get the nearly $200 in trade-in credit, I would definitely not have picked the phone up. $350 is definitely a more appropriate price, which it will definitely reach soon due to sales, but I see why they charge $499 at the beginning.

I use Google Fi as my carrier. I bought an 8a through Fi for $199 on May, 22. I will take that as a big win.

SoT is depressing. I have Galaxy A55 and get like 11-12 hour SoT all the time, meanwhile 8a only gets like 2 hours. That is not acceptable at all.

Trading in 7 years support for maybe 2 and depending on a hack for "good" photo quality is dubious at best. I use a Google Qi charger at my desk, have a charger on my nightstand and carry a power bank when out hiking/out in the wilderness. My battery is never is allowed to die.

​@@MarcutsuSpoon 7 years is cool. My kid has version 14, there are not many innovations, only cosmetics. But it all depends on the usage scenario, I don’t play games, but use the camera more often. I don’t want to carry a charger or wires, let the phone work for us, not us for it :)

Dictation is one of the reason I bought the Pixel 8 Pro it’s just perfect , way better than apple

Life is too short to worry about the batery life of your device , just enjoy your device and when your phone battery drains just charge

The 8a looks decent but Pixels continue to have the same familiar issues. Overheating, mediocre battery life, and generally bad modem connectivity. If I wanted a Pixel device, I’d wait at least till the Pixel 9 this October or wait for the Pixel 10 lineup next year. That 10 lineup will be the first to use TSMC to help fab the Tensor chip. That’ll be the real upgrade if Google can ensure no dumb bugs or glitches that occur on all Pixels since the 6 series.

Personal hotspot turned on by itself. The thing I don't like is that Google has so many hidden settings in Pixel phones and Google likes to do so many things for you. Like when you turn off certain settings, they'll probably be turned right back on after an update regardless. Smh

Pixels just get hotter than other phones. Deal breaker for me. Im so disgusted with my pixel 8 pro i could give it away for free. Unfortunate... I would rather use a pixel. But instead I use a s23 ultra and a xiaomi 13T because I cant deal with the pixel heat issue. Feels like im holding a nuclear power plant in the palm of my hand. So uncomfortable.

T-Mobile is giving me a free upgrade so I could switch to the 8 or 8a or the pixel 8 pro for free. I'm not sure which to grab. If I wait til the 9 series I would assume it would cost me at least $200 to buy into the 9 for example. So which would u grab as an upgrade from the 6? Also can u make a video about why u feel the 8 is much better than the 8a because they seem pretty similar to each other.
