Spello (Umbria), the flower town of Italy - Italy Walking Tour
Spello is nestled on the southern flank of Mount Subasio, between Assisi and Foligno, and it's one of the "Most Beautiful Villages of Italy".
A not to miss event is the "Infiorata", a Flower Festival held between May and August. During this time of the year the village becomes more beautiful thanks to this competition: all citizens can participate and adorn their doorways and houses facades with plants and flowers. You will surely notice, other than the flowers, many houses proudly displaying the winning plaques.

Obviously this is a walking town, seems like all uphill, did you see anyone using a bike??? Oh, they just discovered a 4th century temple, I wonder where it is here...

In Italy, you get pretty used to walking uphill! ;) I don't remember seing any bikes, they are more used in other regions. I heard about the new discovery! No idea where it's located, but I'd really like to go back there one day, expecially for the flower festival!
