Hi, guys! So I had mentioned that I would check if this fits the cuttlebug, at about 6 minutes 30 seconds in I mention that the cuttlebug is a little too small! Like literally just an eighth of an inch or so too small.

Boo, I was really hoping it would fit the Cuttlebug. Thanks for checking. I may have to switch B plates for the Cuttlebug are hard to find. I found Cplates on Amazon.

I did not realize that I missed this but I definitely think this platform is for ME! I got the Platinum 6 and I've had issues using it with my non-Spellbinders dies and I believe THIS will do the trick! THANKS!!! XOXOXO

Do you need a magic mat to go with these or are they improved to where you don't need them to protect the plates? And are there magic mats made in this size? Anyone know? 😎

This is good information to know about these new cutting plates. I’ve been using the Marquis lately although I have a Gemini and an old Big Shot. I put these and the extended plates on my (forever increasing) wishlist, LOL. TYFS, Vianney.🌸🦋

Thank you for the info, Vianney! The embossing result looks really nice. I don’t have either machine - just the Marquis and the Cuttlebug. That balloon doggie looks like the ‘mama’ dog to the DP die from the Celebrate set. 😀

TYSM! The system worked really well, I think it will be awesome to be able to better accommodate all of my dies and folders.

I have the Platinum machine that came with much wider and longer plates than the Universal plates. I know from watching other videos it says it will work with that one but since the plates are smaller it seems like it is not a good idea, I hope they make the Universal System with the wider and longer plates.

I put some on order along with some extra shims (2 sets), just in case!! Be well, be safe & TYFS

Hi, Dena! When I came back with the Big Shot and the Platinum 6 I mentioned that the opening on the Cuttlebug is like a fraction of an inch too small.

Well....I recently trashed by base plate on my Big Shot Plus by cutting n2 it, and my cutting plates r pretty worn, so guess what I'm going 2 buy? Perfect time 4 a brand new start. I'm going 2 stick little notes on my embossing folders as I use them so I don't have 2 experiment each time.

Oh wow! I need these plates! Fabulous idea that Spellbinders came up with….clicking your link right now, hope they didn’t sell out, lol.

@@VianneyCreates I am about to watch your review, and I’m very interested. I initially owned a big shot, and I didn’t like it. It seemed like no matter what I did, my plates always warped within a few uses. When I swapped to Spellbinders- I was IN LOVE!!! My first plates lasted a year before even budging. But when I ordered my last set of plates, I’ve not had the same experience. No matter what Han is I try, my plates are warping too quickly. I think a lot of that could be because I use dies from various places, and they all have different widths…but I’m not forcing anything, so I don’t get it. Do you think this new universal plate system will keep me from having to deal with plates warping so quickly on my spellbinders machine?

They advertise it comes with a guide as to the plate sandwiches for the different brands of embossing folders. That would be much easier then having to try to figure it out each time. Mine should be here any day. Excited to be able to use 3D embossing folders in my Platinum 6. Thank you for the demo!

Hi, Rhonda! Where do you see that info that they advertise it comes with sandwiches for different brands? The base plates do show different sandwiches for different types of items, but not specific brands. Those sandwiches are geared toward Spellbinders items but will work the same with most other brand items, the site says: "The guide provides easy step-by-step instructions on how to build correct sandwiches for Spellbinders® products." I just don't want people to assume it comes with specific info for every brand, it does not. TY!!

Under the Spellbinders website where they are selling the plate system it has a list, don't know it it comes with the list or it has to be printed, for sandwiches for the different brands of embossing folders. Stamping up 2D use sandwich 4, creative Expressions 3D use 2. These are recommended sandwiches for the Spellbinders machine.

@@RhondaMilehamBennett I saw that, too. It was a chart telling you the recommended sandwich for each brand of embossing folders. For the Stampin’ Up 3D folders there are even 2 different sandwiches - one for the old 3D folders and a different one for the newer ones.

I see that under the product page, Spellbinders has a link (that's not an actual link, but one can copy and paste) and it takes you to a list of sandwiches. It's a very basic list of very few companies. I just wanted to come and thank you for mentioning it. TY!!

This is great but why did they make the cutting plates so much shorter than the extended base plate? It would be nice if they had been the same I think

I don't know, but it might have to do with friction and getting the plates going. I know when I have a die that maxes out the complete sandwich, it can be hard to start cranking. Maybe worse phenomena with larger (heavier) plate sandwich. Leaving a space helps get it going. Just a guess.

Ohhh I forgot about the balloon dog dies! I gotta get those 😁 will make such a fun card and great review! Did you get the new different rolls of the best ever tape ? I know it's kinda silly bcuz we can just use the tape we have but I was just curious if you had and your opinion

The balloon animal is sooooo cute! I have gone through two rolls of the Best Ever craft tape, I love it! I did a review when it first came out. I think it's cool they made new sizes, I will definitely get those!

@@VianneyCreates I love the best ever craft tape! I almost bought more during the summer sale but I waited. Now I'm glad bcuz I'm thinking the wide roll would be nice to have. I'm not sure I need the thin roll but I can see it being useful for crafters who craft every day 🙂
