If you are here to flame because you hate batching on Classic... Trust me, I hate it as much as you do. The problem isn't batching itself, the problem is the shitty tickrate of the Classic servers. Every private server had batching and nobody complained because the way it was implemented was much different and the server tickrate was faster.

Defcamp & Melderon TV SOOO salty. They are sitting back on what they thought was their throne and realizing they have a mental Classic WoW age of a level 10 female Tauren hunter and thinking: “Holy shit it’s a real thing and Blizzard actually did it.” Personally I love the fact that I had faith and I had no Doubt Blizzard would come through, though I did feel uneasy putting that faith in them, I had full faith undeniably. And I know so many who wanted it to come we’re even doubtful, to the point that people felt defeated and didn’t discuss it. But Ohhgee got the rest who wanted to make it happen up in arms and WE did it boys!

Being a PvE player from Vanilla to Cata (when I quit retail) I had no idea this was a thing. It was your video that brought it to my attention. This is amazing! I am so happy to hear that Blizzard is coming through on this front because, honestly, I didn't think that they would. Three cheers for the Classic WoW dev team! As Kargoz, Defcamp and Melderon said on GOOD MORNING AZEROTH, one of the best things about this change is that it seems to suggest that Blizzard is going to pull no punches in giving us an authentic classic experience. If they are going to this length to come through for the no changes crowd then what aren't they going to replicate for us?

Michael Weldon so insanely exciting man. Blizzard has been giving updates recently and since the start they have slowly made it clear that “We promise we are going to try as hard as possible to make it authentic.” And the recent blizzard (Activision) that we had come to know made us all doubt their “authenticity.” I’ve been slowly slowly starting to love blizzard again and this is the fucking CAKE TOPPER. It’s the cork in the wine bottle of them TRULY confirming that “WE ARE TRYING OUR BALLS OFF TO MAKE IT AUTHENTIC” SO BLIZZARD.... Thank You. Thank You. Thank You. Thank You. Thank You. Thank You. Considering you were the first content creator to make a video explaining what spell batching is in detail. AND explaining why it would affect the PvP meta so much. Feels weird to say but I’m not sure we would have spell batching if it weren’t for you starting the conversation about Spell Batching and having a community to push for it as well. It seems to me that advocating for a worse tick rate when it comes to spells is a bad thing. TL; DR: Spell batches need to be really tight, none of that 0.2-0.5 second shit. Spell batching was the WoW equivalent of getting hit or dying behind a corner in a fast paced online shooter. Read: I see what you're saying in regards to the interplay this ends up creating, but in vanilla I remember it being far too easy for two mages to sheep each other for example, as in 0.5 sec difference at worst. There is an argument for it to remain in EDGE cases, talking sub ~100 ms, but not like it was. We're spending 1 talent point to reduce casting time by 100 ms but the batching size is 200~400 ms? no thanks. Does anyone enjoy counterspelling/kicking/pummeling/spell locking a cast, losing your very valuable cooldown and then having the spell go off anyways? Where's the interplay here? If anything this was one of my severe gripes with PvP in vanilla, the fact that it didn't matter if you were faster. Spell batching brought pvp down from real-time reaction into really fast paced turn-based pvp. There were even times where I would stop myself from interrupting a cast simply because I'd just waste my cooldown, knowing the spell would go off and affect me anyways, because spell batching. I remember priests being immune to polymorph when shadow word: death did damage to the caster, and it was in NO WAY difficult or hard to time it right, at all (this spell not being in classic, but showing how easy this sluggish system was to exploit). Also; rogues gouging a blink should only ever happen if they saw it coming and HAPPENED to gouge at the right time. In any other case the rogue should either have successfully gouged the mage, the mage therefore not blinking OR the mage should've blinked and there should be no gouge, placing emphasis on reaction and knowing what you're doing, not hoping to batch your instant with another instant. You can't seriously argue that both should happen every time you hit a gouge within a half sec window of an instant cast. Sadly, I guess you are. Congrats on succeeding with giving all of WoW a lower tickrate for spells.

Hey Ohhgee, I can't really read the blue post again at work, but what I understood it as is that they aren't REALLY bringing back the system how it worked in Vanilla, just modifying the existing system to facilitate spell batching as closely as possible. From what I gathered, it occurred in Vanilla because everything was processed on one loop whereas now it's gone because you have several loops going in tandem - and their plan for Classic is just to move player abilities to the lowest-priority loop so gouging blinks is still a thing. I wonder if this will cause it to work SLIGHTLY different than the true Vanilla experience... thoughts? Also VINDICATION BOYS WHERE WE AT @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@
