Speedlight TTL Basics On Location With Off Camera Flash
Get interesting portraits with off camera flash using TTL and a trigger on the camera. This is a very typical way for people to work if they're doing weddings or events. It's an urban strong light that looks really interesting, to a really soft to the side light. So there's a real variety here. Let's take a look at getting that flash off from the camera using the Westcott FJ80se, a trigger and TTL.

Fantastic instruction with this method, and she (the model) is refreshing!
What a fantastic subject! Such little instruction needed, just naturally working her poses with tonnes and tonnes of creativity. She must have been a joy to work with! Thanks for the advice about TTL. I'd never been able to figure it out and tend to feel most comfortable on manual. But maybe I ought to give a try again sometime. Keep on clicking!

Thanks for this, but what was that device you had on the speedlight. The equipment list shows a decision dome. What you used was not the listed dome..

We used the Kobra Light Modifier. I don't believe you can find them except probably used somewhere.
Love this kind of shoot with strong lighting. BTW, could not find the Kobra modifier anywhere.(except Indigogo). Have they quit making them? Thanks for a really nice video !!!
You said in your last video that they no longer make that diffuser, what would you recommend?

She did a great job and she was great to work with.
Fj flash well over the top for its price rather use a AD 200 nearly 3 times the power and far cheaper trigger plus more options for mods

True, but not as easy to cart around.
Kobra Flash Modifier shows to be discontinued. Disappointing. I have Rogue FlashBender which works nicely but a bit cumbersome. The Kobra modifier seems very easy to use but no longer available. Those few who are trying to sell are price gouging big time!

@@xsarahx211check out Gary Fong Lightsphere. Unlike Kobra diffuser used in the video, the former doesn't fall off the speedlight. I just ordered one myself.

I believe the Kobra can only be found used these days.

If I’m not mistaken I believe they have these modifiers at Samy’s Camera….. at least I saw something like it hanging on the shelves in the store…..
