We asked you guys what you'd like to see next and you picked Patient 0. We hope we did not disappoint! Definitely a lot slower and more work than the Abominacop, but it was still super fast and very much a speed paint!

    Let contrast paint being used. One painter likes using them, the next loves to use an air brush and a third goes old school. The important ppart is having fun while painting. I like to use contrast paint as a base coat for example.

    I am going to take a break from zombicide painting since I did over 600 minis in the past 16 months from Invader, Black Plague and Green horde but seeing this makes me want to continue that series... too bad uniform grey from TAP is not as light as this primer you used.

    First off awesome paint job as usual! Second, you mentioned you’ve had that one particular brush in your Arsenal for awhile, do you have any recommendations on cleaning/care of your brushes?? Mine always seem to “splinter” after rinsing and cleaning several times.

  • @WatchItPaintIt

    @WatchItPaintIt

    Thanks man! I actually don’t clean my brushes at all. I give them a rinse and I use a Paint Puck in the bottom of my water glass which helps rinse them well and effortlessly. My brushes aren’t in amazing condition and I carry on with them for years :-D the brush isn’t what let’s me down :-D Mike just uses cheap brushes and throws them away regularly. If I was going to try any soap it would be The Masters Brush Cleaner and Preserver

  • @WatchItPaintIt

    @WatchItPaintIt

    3 жыл бұрын

    Mike here: I use masters brush cleaner all the time - it's great. I'm like Ben - I rinse the brush in water, taper the end into a point, and lay it on it's side to dry. If the brush is a mess, I'll use the masters soap, gently massage the bristles, then rinse, and lay it on the side to dry. If you stand it up, water runs into the ferrule which may still have paint on it and that can cause the hairs to splay out.

    I've seen on forums / comments sections, that contrast paints are frowned upon. Why is this? They look great to me (sorry I'm new to painting miniature models, just got back into it for the first time since 09 when I was a high school pleb)

  • @WatchItPaintIt

    I guess for a few reasons. 1. It’s not going to give you the best results possible 2. If you’re new to painting it’s possibly not the best way to learn how to paint 3. You’re less likely to get better at painting if you choose to only use them 4. You can achieve similar results without expensive citadel branded watery paints :-D this isn’t amazing brand new tech 5. Elitism That’s just a few reasons off the top of my head, probably quite a few other reasons people dislike them. Personally for me, it’s just another tool in my arsenal. I don’t solely use them, I don’t always use them, there’s a time and a place like with most things :-) hope this helps

    I’m with you. I think this is my favourite abomination too! Once painted up especially. The garbage bag is a little ball of paper wrapped in a tiny piece of plastic (I popped and pulled a little piece of bubble wrap I had next to me). Glued it down and added 3 layers of black wash and then gloss varnish. I was very impressed with it for literally trash bash :-D

  • @WatchItPaintIt

    You got to see everything I did in the video, minus the blood, base and varnishing! I don’t use shade on contrast paints, and I don’t highlight (normally). It’s just one coat and done! I’d still use shade and highlights on any “normally” painted areas but on the contrast I leave it as is (almost always).
