@@Plutogalaxy I watched a video of a driver, think it was ATS, and he showed his W-2 with blacked out info of course. He was responsible for pilot cars, bucket trucks/lineman, permits, police escorts if required, special insurance, and anything else. Still was just under 400k for the year after covering those costs. Not bad in my book. If you’re doing those kinda loads for $40 an hour that’s silly.

oddly enough when objects are transported through the small villages in Europe it's in some ways easier as there are no over head lines to deal with , but the narrow streets are insane to negotiate . mostly they use the multi wheeled transporters that look like a centipede where every wheel can move independent of the other ones . it's amazing to watch especially for those that live in second story apartments . the object comes within centimeters of their balcony and windows .

Always funny to read the comments about how great the driver is. Don't get me wrong, we can be pretty sure he didn't graduate driving school a week ago, but he's got himself, a guy in the back, steerable trailer and dollies, the route planned out, escorts, mechanics, supervisors, ground crew, utility companies, local police, the state highway patrol, the roads closed off, and a couple of TV news crews for good measure. And he never goes over 15 MPH. The driver that gets my respect is the guy given a 53' van full of soda or beer, and spends all day fighting city traffic, getting in and out of convenience stores never meant to see a truck, and doing it in all kinds of weather. And he does it 5 or 6 days a week, everyday, unloading the thing himself. That's the guy that's a real driver...

With all the axles, tires and spacing the actual PSI load per tire on the road is no more than a loaded school bus or semi tractor trailer.

With the number of axles, the weight is so distributed that a car does more damage to the road surface than that truck. My husband and his brother used to run super loads back in the 90's.

Two dozen loads? Are those backroads rated to handle that much weight? Gonna go with, nope. Those roads are going to get absolutely wrecked.

I'm more amazed that a single semi can pull that weight. Would have figured that would have had to be delivered by train or something.

Are the back roads in ohio built to hold that much weight? Our roads are already bad enough
