I am interested in a fitness hybrid and have the ability to go off-road also but I do not know which one to purchase between Specialized Sirrus X 5.0, Sirrus 4.0 and Trek Sport Carbon 4 or Trek Dual Sport 4? sirrus x 2.0 more nimble, lighter , more precise stirring, aimed for mostly road use and light offroad, good for damaged asphalt as well. giant roam is similar to specialized cross trail and trek DS, designed more for bad roads, damaged pavement, light gravel but still can handle pretty well on roads can handle uneven roads better than the sirrus X.

I think the stock pedals are basically there for test rides and are supposed to be swapped out as quickly as possible

in short, it's a significant jump in quality and performance over the sirrus 2.0. definitely worth the difference in price. the ride is smoother and the bike is faster and stops better. there is however a big difference in maintenance cost. drive train parts don't last as long and cost more to replace. you'll only notice that if you ride over 1500 miles a year.

Hi, so I have a Sirrus 2.0, my commute is 2 miles of Thames tow path, but I want to do some exploring in the countryside come Summer. What are your thoughts on the Specialized Pathfinder Pro 700 x 38c? Still good for tarmac, but also allows for some light off roading? Great upgrade recommendations by the way

I have fx2, I am 5.6" but the size I got was large, its the only available but. Still the best on road

I am not aware of any stock hybrid that has this setup. I'm assuming you mean it also has only one chainring only in the front.

@@bikegallery3185 2 Chain rings in front is what I prefer, with an 11-40T rear cassette, and non-disc brakes. Basically a Sirrus 2.0, but one that climbs better!

If you ride more than 25 miles a week get the 2 it's a much better bike. otherwise get the 1

I am new to bikes and need an advise please. I cannot make up my mind between the Sirrus X5.0 and the Sirrus 6.0, what would you recommend.

Sirrus 6.0 is designed more for fitness, long rides and speed. it's closer to road bike on the hybrid spectrum with road bike gearing. the x 5.0 is closer to a mountain bike on the hybrid spectrum, much bigger tire and mountain bike drivetrain, with lower gears. you can take the x 5.0 on pavement but it will do very well on light off roading, gravel etc.

very similar bikes, i would say the biggest difference is the riding position, the FX2 is a bit more upright but you can get a more upright stem and install on the sirrus and it will be the same.

@@VuongNguyen-tc4fj sirrus 2 is more for fitness/commuting/leisure. sirrus X 2 is more for leisure, packed dirt, very light offroading/gravel, damaged pavement or lots of potholes

Thanks for the review! I’m debating between an X 2.0 and the 2.0. If I get the X 2.0 and want to swap to a thinner tire later on, does it have any disadvantages? Also, if you’re on the road, does the ride feel different between the 2.0 and X 2.0 (ie. do you lose speed noticeably?). I like the versatility of the X 2.0 but scared that it won’t be as much of a smooth/fast ride as the 2.0.

no disadvantages to changing the tires lateron the X2.0 to thinner tires. X2.0 is not as fast as the 2.0 stock as the tires are significantly wider, on the other hand much smoother and forgiving ride. ride between the two is significantly different, the 2.0 is much more rigid, though still much more comfortable than road bikes. if you like the simpler design with less gears and have bad roads or like to ride on gravel (potholes, damaged asphalt) get the X2.0. if you want more refined shifting and want to go fast, and have smoother asphalt/bike trails, get the 2.0 if the ride is too harsh on the 2.0 you can ask the shop to change to 35, they are significantly more comfortable.

looks like a well sorted out plug and play rugged commuter. very good value proposition. very interesting fender mounted rack system. not a fan of proprietary fenders but these might be good and hopefully will never need replacement. if you are looking for a commuter, not a fitness bike this is good option. instead of starting with a fitness bike and upfitting it to these specs. are you in the market for this? are there other options you are looking into?

@@Karim_Belgique get a trek fx1 or 2 or get a specialized sirrus 2 and add fender and rack by your self. dynamo lights are not as good as they are represented. . a good solid set of rechargeable lights is better.

Is seating position on sirrus 2.0 and 2.0X the same?

they have the same geometry, so yes, it's the same riding position. if you need a more upright position you can get one of these: amzn.to/3fcdOnV it's a pretty popular and affordable solution for changing the ridning geometry to fit you just right.

Oh my, I got it here in south korea, it is the only stock before. Only one left and a large one. I got lucky. Try buying online

I’m around 5’10 5’11. Ideally what size would be great for me in this exact spec bike ? I wish I could go test them out but unfortunately bikes are like gold & diamonds atm. Anyone around my height have any clue? Maybe some inseam measurements to help

I’m 5’8” and bought a medium. When I tried it out in store, I tried out both the M and the L, and felt I fit between the two. The Large should be a good fit for you. The frame geometry of this one is such that the distance between the seat and handlebars is longer than the FX chassis (I was very comfortable on a large for the FX2).

@@ks3788 Definitely get the large. It seems as though the supply chain is moving in the direction of normal and sourcing one should be somewhat easier. I purchased the large and waiting for delivery to my LBS. Best advice, is to go to several local shops in person and let them know you're serious about purchasing one ASAP and have your credit card in hand.

if your inseam is more than 32 get a XL otherwise get a large
