WPATH satisfaction rates are 97% for people who transition from female to male. In 2015, a survey of 28,000 transgender people in the US revealed only 8% of people detransitioned. 83% OF that 8% detransitioned due to the influence of parents. Only 0.4% of people had detransitioned after realising the decision wasn't for them anymore.

That is not correct at all. Many of them have not been abused. But some hate their bodies, and they think that changing it will make them happy. They seek their happiness in the outer world rather than seeking it inside themselves. Some of them are genuine, but even then, a physical gender change is just not very good. If they have unrealistic expectations, they won't be satisfied.

It wasn't until I questionned myself and started to transition that I felt that dysphoria. Saying dysphoria is needed causes people like me to tell themselves "I just feel normal so I am not trans enough to transition". That narrative is very harmfull and is one of the number 1 causes why trans people do not realize earlier that they we're trans and go through unnecessary suffering.

When doctors or therapist challenge the patients "i am trans and have gender dysphoria" narrative, the patient immediately quits and changes to another doctor or therapist who affirm to their believes or delusion. These doctors and therapists also get labelled as a bigots and transphobics by the patient and the woke crowd with threats of losing their jobs. These patients come very convinced that they are trans, is extremely stubborn and NEVER listen to anyone that dont affirm to their delusions. Noone talks about this. Take responsibility for your own decisions, convictions and actions. Stop shifting the blame onto others especially the medical personnels.

I'm a Clinical Psychologist in the NHS. We are qualified to diagnose any mental 'disorder', just not able to prescribe medication. Most of us though don't diagnose, as rather than sort people in a typology of problem, we'd rather try to understand what a person has experienced and 'formulate' a way of understanding that process and the processes maintaining the difficulty. On the trans issue, the discourse has been so unthinking, polarising and toxic that it's difficult to engage with critically, for fear of either being 'transphobic' or 'woke'... these poor people, whether they have gender dysphoria or trauma or are neurodivergent or simply confused about their identity in a confusing world, should not be a political football, but sadly that is what they are being used as. Based on my own clinical experience, most of the young people I meet who are identifying withthe gender they weren't born to, are either traumatised, have profound attachment disorder and associated identity confusion, or have autism.

Mental health care in the uk is an absolute joke, I had to wait more than 6 months for ptsd therapy and was eventually given only four appointments and after over three months I was finally given an appointment for next month. The worst part of it all is that my fully licensed therapist tried to convince me that my chronic pain (partly caused by ovarian cysts) was all in my head, that a patient of hers had a hand print magically appear on his face while talking about being slapped and that creating imaginary friends will cure me even though she also diagnosed me with afantasia which makes that impossible.

So why is transitioning the only treatment? Why are there no treatments being researched to help people accept their birth sex instead of changing their body? I'm not saying people shouldn't be able to transition, they should if they want to. But why is transitioning the only treatment option? Surely it would be worth looking into finding ways to help trans people avoid all the surgery and body altering. I'm not saying it would 100% work, and again transitioning may be the right choice for some, but I can't find anything online about treatment/research to help trans people accept their natural bodies and I don't understand why no one seems to be looking into this??

When did the West ever appropriate something and use it for what it is intended for? When did they ever do foreign practises any justice? Never.

(Like the girls in this video clear should not have transitioned) I'm not saying let's try and convince every transwoman she's a man. I’m a detransitioning person from the Netherlands. I know plenty of transgender people who would have had committed suicide if they weren’t allowed to transition so I’m sure there is a reason behind this all even though I’m still not sure what really causes genderdysphoria but they seem to live happy lives so I’m glad for them. For me, especially hormone replacement therapy is what gives me more regret. I was on testosterone for 1,5 years. I also had top surgery/a full mastectomy which is actually something I’m not that regretful about so having no breasts makes me more comfortable than having what I used to have. But detransitioning is a thing, and it’s being denied by gender clinics and gender affirming therapists. I was a gender non conforming girl that felt she was more a tomboy than the other tomboys around me and I could never see myself growing up to be a woman. I identified as non binary for a period of time, but I don’t really relate to the non binary community and I am just now very much aware of my biological sex and basically only relate to that side/part of me. Also, it’s technically impossible to change sex, dental records, skeleton features and DNA will always reveal how someone was born. Even my friend who is a transman said this himself. So it’s an interesting topic in itself. I wish there would be more studies done on people like me without making actual trans people feel afraid people are turning against them and make people stop thinking everyone is going to regret their transition, because there is enough proof it works for most people, most of the time. So let’s just be respectful towards another.

Transitioning helps them as much as giving into other obsessions would help someone with ocd. Also the cult-like affirmations sure help, as does the idea of finally moving towards some grand goal. But the follow-up studies do not look good, if they are even made (and if most people don't drop out). This is because gender is not actually 'real'. No cis person feels like some gender.
