Special Hobby, Fairey Fulmar Mk.II, 1/48, Stopmotion
Here's my little stopmotion experiment of a famous WWII plane stationed on a carrier in 1:48 scale from Special Hobby. At the end of the clip I mixed some original footage of my own - holiday clip - to create the illusion of plane standing on the deck. Unfortunately I haven't got any Figure to bring some other life to the scene. Hope you enjoy it though...

The video itself is a piece of art. The way you edited it and made it look super aesthetic, compliments the finished model in a stunning fashion.

Very funny way to use Marmite lol. Great looking kit. Very nicely done.
Love the build. Those old Fairey planes are so interesting looking. I've got another Special Hobby kit ( the Firefly ) in my stash I'm going to tackle one day. I also learned that Alclad makes military color paints. I literally had no idea.
As always Tom! A pleasure to watch and a very special kit built! Amazing work

I stumbled across this video from searching around on KZread, after visiting the Fleet Air Arm museum recently and seeing the Fulmar in all its glory. I must just stop and say, I can't imagine the time & effort that has gone into this - it's truly a masterpiece. Hats off to you sir/madam.

Hatte mal überlegt, ob ich mein Video "Attack of the giant insects" noch mal in Stopmotion neu auflege.

The most interesting thing about the Fairy Fulmar, was due to the lack of rear defensive armourment in desperation the radio operator/navigator were given a Thompson machine gun. How effective they were I have no idea!

Interesting info...
DAMN! I knew Marmite wasn’t there to be eaten!!!
Scrolling through, went past because of lethargy and unfamiliarity with the plane. Then TOMs registered and I woke up like a Yorkie hearing a leaf rustle realizing I could not miss one of your videos.

The music makes me think about all the dark history in my life
I like your style Sir. Your work is wonderful. The propeller, Is it just slid into place? How do you keep it from pulling off. It didn't look like you glued or melted a hub on the inserted end of the shaft. I like the propellers to spin but they also need to be permanently attached to the aircraft. Or do they? I would hate for the model to lose it in the future so how. Thank you.
@TomGrigat
I'm pleased you like my work. The propeller is actually lose fit to achieve nice and even rotation just by blowing some air with a hairdryer. For me it was prior getting some sort of spinning simulation for foto purposes. To get this I always use a combination of two metal tubes from Albion Alloys.
what airbrush you use???
@TomGrigat
It's an iwata, 0,3 mm
Have you ever thought about doing cutaways? Show some of that detail that bets hidden when everything is closed up?
@TomGrigat
I'm not a real fan of cut aways when they're only done to show what's behind. I prefer opened maintenance areas or damaged surfaces after an accident or so. Something real which let the underlying structure see. But for me it's the process of working on the details what counts.
OK, you have taken the scale modelling presentation to a different level!!! Any issues with KZread and the new law about the suitability of videos for children?
I've seen several of your stop motion video builds and they've all been, without exception, amazingly good. One thing I did notice on this one, though, is that you've made the common mistake of adding chipping to the propeller blades. As I understand it, this would not have happened to a real aircraft as this would have affected the performance and safety of the plane.
how much does it take to you to make a video from "opening the model box" to "uploading the video on youtube" incluiding the building of the model of course?
@TomGrigat
This video took me more than a month - nearly two... In hours I would say appr. 60 - 70.
