And they have an atrocious record in actually successfully carrying out rescue operations. Their brute force approach usually ends standoffs but at the cost of killing most or all of the hostages. Beslan was a prime example of this. As well as the theater siege in which over one hundred hostages died from Spetsnaz gas.

The National Guard is one of the two national police units in Russia, the other is the Politsya. In term of role, the closest country with a similar set of police forces is France: French National Police = Russian Politsya French National Gendarmerie = Russian National Guard.

Rosvgardia were internal troops though, no matter how "special", it operates within controlled lines, on assured logistics, with ample information, against largely militia level training opponents at most. In the end, it was not same with special operators of the military. Now they will be pressed against another nation, we'll see how they stack up.

​@@Daurentius322 It will probably take the US a month or two to completely destroy the Ukrainian air force and its military's chain of command before its ground troops start rolling in. Its special forces will probably be in Ukraine since day one, probably won't retardedly get sent in waves like their Russian counterparts, but in discrete, small tactical groups, with intelligence and air support. What Russia's doing here, aka the traditional mechanized warfare, is a thing of the past.

Good point however they are in Ukraine right now look at Kherson Mariupol and Melitopol where these National Guard Elite forces Patrol the streets and ready to crush Ukrainian protesters. What Welt should do is the Ukrainian Azov Batallion complete with German Belgian UK and us supplied weaponry NATO standard equipment. Even tougher is these Russian National Guard soldiers getting access to T-15 Armata Kurganets IFV these have Afghanit APS that can stop a Panzerfaust 3 NLAW FGM-148 Javelin

Lets face it, no matter how advanced or how big disparity there is, military alone might cannot stop the ember of resistance from burning and spread in this age of republics (i.e. the nation belong to its people, not ruler). This is also why war of annexation had fallen out of favour in modern times. The fact that most conqueror does not have similar culture also work against that.

Nice sentence. But you just need to evalute the ground situation. It's a very sad story for Ukrain army. May be you will need to send all the farmers with tractors to replace them.

Idk why people keep saying this that . Ukraine has 45 million people so its not small by any means . Also they are getting the best weapon there is . So that being said defeating them will take time for Russia 🇷🇺 they are taking their time to limit casualties. Lot of people don't understand modern day warfare
