    Yea was thinking the same thing but at the same time that kinda range. Ima say luck had a lot to do with it. Cause that pilot could kept turning and gone left or gained altitude like there was a lot the pilot coulda done to throw ur shot off. So really your putting that shot in where you think it’s gonna be but that’s just a hope that he doesn’t do anything drastic. Idk play a bit of lat def not good at it just seems like a lot of things coulda been done that woulda made the shot miss…. But he didn’t so yea def some skill there just to be able to put the shot in the right area

    I'd call a skluck because it definitely requires skill to use those sights and predict the heli's movement, but it's also pretty lucky given that I have never killed a helicopter in Squad with a single RPG.

    That first helicopter kill was definitely skillful because he knew to aim above and ahead of the target to account for ballistics and target movement and certainly did have at least a mostly accurate idea of the range and velocity of the rocket, but luck was also involved because the pilot could have changed course but didn't.

  • @888ask

    @888ask

    I think it was luck becouse you can't calculate that, there is no way to see the where to shoot.

  • @Andy-413

    @Andy-413

    2 жыл бұрын

    @@888ask Yeah there was luck involved as I said, but also as I said he had a rough idea of about how high and far ahead to aim. Yes you can calculate an approximate aiming point if you've at least come close to hitting shots at that distance, and you can easily calculate an approximate distance by how big the helicopter appears when not zoomed in. It was not only luck, his skill level got his shot in the right area, whereas if the person was unskilled, he would've aimed directly at the helicopter, which of course would've fallen short.

  • @timothyodeyale6565

    @@Andy-413 no, anyone can aim above a heli, and if you know how an rpg fires then you can account for drop. His scope didnt move along with the heli which i think means that he didnt have faith in his shot. If you are realistically trying to hit something you travel with it. Its luck or skluck.

    @@timothyodeyale6565 I disagree about his aiming. There are two types of targeting for moving targets, tracking with the proper lead like you're talking about ,or "ambush", where you apply the lead with the current target movement and wait for the target to get to your shoot point. Ambush is my preferred method in squad, just seems easier, also since all you have to do is wait for the target to get to your lead point and click, there's less chance of you jerking your mouse while tracking. Shooting helis in squad is difficult, and certainly more difficult at 450 meters as was this case (the green knife on the compass is a mark dropped by the squad leader). He knew what he was doing. But there's always luck involved with shooting fast moving vehicles, and this heli was moving quite slow, so luck there as well. In the end Skluck, but plenty of skill involved. New anti tank player regularly can't even hit a stationary vehicle from like 100 meters away, so this was a good shot

    @@Gamology Yeah, but you need to get more games in it. You guys seem to stick to COD (or at least the more recent ones), battlefield, & apex legends too much as if they're the only games people play. Or as often as so many clips of the same games suggest. (Grant it this 1 was about cool shot clips, & the trick shots of COD BO2 have been beaten to death so I get it, )but still we need players to send clips of other games some time soon. Glad to see that God of War was one of them at least.

    I have +3k hours on BF4 and can say with confidence that that shot was pure luck Heli players don't usually go in a line and especially when shot, they most likely will strafe +that elevation is kinda 70% but the pilot needed to see the shot which again set another layer of luck Not to mention his luck by not being shot, if the heli saw his shot he definitely saw the guy definitely could've shot earlier (Reminding that it was hardcore, pretty easy to kill with that heli)

    That Heli shot is all skill. You can absolutely determine distance using that scope and both correct for elevation and lateral speed on the fly using the markings. Even the helicopter can't really maneuver out of the way because it has a lot of inertia so the path of the Heli over the time of flight is pretty predictable.

    I think all the rockets vs helicopters are heavy luck. There's a degree of skill with aiming in the proper area, but after that, there are just too many variables to truly contribute it all to skill. That first long range RPG was total luck--unless RPGs are coded more consistently in the game, they're just not that accurate. You can give it the best odds with knowledge and experience, but once it leaves the tube, there are just too many variables--especially as the distance increases. Edit: the zipline rocket to the crashing helo was a lot heavier towards skill, I'll give him that.

    It appears to be grounded in experience with him lining up the compensator grid. In squad atleast, the rockets are 100% consistant, and the stadiametric rangefinder and grid in the rpg7's PGO sight makes nailing a moving target up to 500 meters childs play (If you know how to read it). Still doesn't make it any less awesome feeling when you nail that shot though.

    Do you play squad? I'd say it's its definitely both and not just luck. Hitting far shots with rocket launchers in that game requires knowledge of how the projectiles work as well as knowing exactly how far away they are. That's really the hardest part of hitting a shot is knowing exactly the distance between you and them. That's why most classes in this game are given binoculars to accurately see how many meters away something is. So sure, a shot like that definitely took some luck, but that was mostly skill. It's not just a shot in the dark that happened to hit and you can tell when he lines up his shot he knows what he's doing. Also-that optic on that rpg is the probably the easiest one to use, you simply line up the bottom of the object with the corresponding line and meter number depending how far it is and shoot. However, hitting far shots with an iron sight rpg is a different story entirely. Pure skill

    The chopper shots were skill, when shooting at choppers you have to know how they fly, the big rotor up top means they can either go straight, straight up or slow turn. The squad shot was a bit easier than it looks because of the slower chopper mechanics, also any player that uses a weapon enough knows its drop off and knows vehicle scale to distance. The bf shot in that situation you always shoot slightly above the chopper because if they are going to dodge it's always going to be straight up, they aren't going to cut motor and drop into the ground and turning is too slow.

    BF4 i pretty much mained shooting helis out of the sky with a smaw or rpg in that game and i will tell you right now that was both skill with style points. that shot was gonna be good especially with a smaw, the hitbox for the helis and the ping in the servers make that shot dead on imho, and right at the start you could tell it was gonna hot the ground right behind you. this manz skills are scary

    For the clip of bf1 where the dude was mounted on that turret and got 2 squads worth of kills i have to go luck. Id take skluck but im leaning more towards luck. I can't tell you how fast i wouldve had that dude gone. Any time you get that many kills in a row while standing completely still in front of at least 15 people firing non-stop youre lucky. All it wouldve taken was one decent scout and they wouldve died after the third or fourth kill

    Real gamers understand its both luck and skill. It takes skill to do what they did but the luck comes in when you get matched up with garbage players lol. Never the less you have to have a certain level of skill to overcome being out numbered even when theyre bad.In gaming you get lucky and that gives you opportunities to show your skill.

    The BF4 bringing down the helicopter is skill. Watch the perspective again. The helicopter doesn't pull up, because it is coming straight on, it is simply that it gets closer, there is no change of elevation to the chopper. What's making you think it is an elevation change is because of his position and how he angles his shot and then as the tube drops out of frame to reload it is an optical illusion that the helicopter makes any change. If I remember correctly that weapon does not indicate to a vehicle that there is any kind of lock on and the projectile can be difficult to see depending on which view perspective you are using for your chopper.

    It's going straight at him, that's a shot most players hit 9/10 times. The SMAWs arch is also very easy to learn. This is 100% luck because the pilot was shit. You NEVER go in a straight line like that. It's asking to be shot down.
