The engineering and machining look excellent. Especially like the o-ring, sloped floor for better draining and the extra oil capacity. Well done. #SPE #motorsportfab

Build quality looks great. If you ever make a upper oil pan with a built in gasket, especially for the newer 6.7's that can't use the old gasket model, I imagine they would sell like crazy

Could open up some cool color coordination options with powder coating as well.

@SPEMotorsport, The sealant that comes with this for the plugs is it safe to use on the plugs on the oil filter adapter as well?

looks fantastic but a little concerning about why you choose stainless-steel screws to use with with aluminum?

With this pan and y’all’s cat filter conversion what would my capacity be with the short cat filter you sell?

I like the fact that I can use four gallons of oil with this pan, it just makes sense (unlike the placement of the passenger side blend door actuator). Is there an option to not have the oil heater port? That’s a big fucking hole that the majority of folks won’t need or want. Thoughtfully designed and practical.

Yes. All kits are provided with an NPT plug ins case you aren't upgrading to the heated oil option or the atmospheric turbo.

I like the taper to drain all of the oil. That’s a good thought on y’all’s part. Why did you choose 16qts? I feel 15 would be convenient since most oil comes in 5qt jugs.

The majority of oil companies come in 4qt jugs (Rotella, Schaeffer's etc) sell them in 1 gallon jugs. Most customers run aftermarket brands which is why we went with that.

Most aftermarket pans have the cooling fins, is there a reason it isn't used in SPE's design? Or do they not cool enough to make a difference? Thanks

They provide zero effect to the oil cooling. It just adds places for the pan to crack & adds areas for porosity and problems with casting. Not having the fans in it provides a better, more consistent casting. Because of the size of the pan it's not going to affect cooling as much. Now a transmission pan on the other hand should have fins because of the sheer size of it.
