Spassk is not doing okay neither am I… (VLOG)
I returned to Spassk but fortunately just for two days, relaxed there a bit but didn’t manage to finish the video there, so I decided to film the rest on train! In this video I’ll take you across the whole Primorsky region ending up in Vladivostok, sharing my life updates and telling what it’s like to see war propaganda everywhere…

The doctor that delivered me in 1953 was Russian. He was my family doctor for 30 years. He used to make house calls in the early days which is unheard of today. He gave me his medical bag when he bought a new one. I was a kid and liked to play doctor. He would come to see my grandmother who had a stroke at the time. She would always smile when he came. She was born in Poland near the Russian border and spoke both languages. She never did learn English after she moved to the USA. Anyway, I became a nurse and took care of Dr. Steven Sorokanich when he was a patient in the hospital where I was working. This was in the 1980's . He died of cancer. We missed him very much. He was a good man. God bless you and take care of you. I will pray for you.

Many Russian intellectuals: doctors, teachers, professors, journalists, writers, scientists, - had to leave collapsing Russian Empire after the revolution 1917. And it was very good for them, because lots of those, who stayed in Russia, were killed by crazy despot stalin later. Now the most intelligent Russian people are emigrating too. But they should not wait too long with this important desicion. Nobody knows, when iron curtain will fall again.
Natasha.. make sure to take a SEALED copy of your academic transcript from University.. In the USA there are few official evaluation centers you could pick. to send it to.. They will send you an official evaluation of approved credits if you might want to go later on to graduate school..It is much more difficult to obtain a transcript once you leave.. I'm concerned for her mental health. The way she labels things shows signs of a decline into depression. Talking therapy books could help. She has to be careful of viewing things overly negatively about her own country or town. E.g. is she aware bridges are collapsing in the US too! Over 220,000 U.S. Bridges Need Repair, Latest Analysis of Federal Data Finds 45,000 Remain “Structurally Deficient” and in Poor Condition. It's often in the less posh areas away from the cities which the gov neglects. Plenty of people in the US get depressed too over the government, rising prices, inflation, jobs, what they see as racial disadvantages etc, etc, etc. The point about depression is we can stop it but it's important to get there early and spot the signs. Talking theory is a proven and real solution.

Thank you Natasha. I sometimes doubt my own mental health. I wonder when being alone turns to being lonely, when sadness turns into depression. Where are the lines drawn? What difference does it make? We live in a turbulent world. I sometimes lose hope and faith, I see pain and anger caused by hatred and violence. Then I see a younger generation that has glimpsed some freedom. And I also see growing pains. People that grew up never knowing the iron curtain, but are seeing it rise again, but have seen a side their parents or grandparents never saw. The fight now belongs to your generation. Fight for peace? An oxymoron, right? Please be careful, please stay safe. This world needs you, more than you know. Those that have had the opportunity to travel, study, make friends in a larger world, focused on what we all have in common rather than our differences, yes you, help restore my hope and faith in the future. Spaask reminds me very much of dozens of some of the small rural towns in northeastern Alabama. These places can seem incredibly oppressive to the young adults who grow up there, and leaving is usually one of the most cherished dreams for those of us who originate from such backwater towns. It is true in many places around the world, not only in the Far East of the Russian Federation. But the world is enormous, diverse, ready, and waiting for you to come and explore it! You were wise to pay a final visit to your home town and the nearby large city. Perhaps you will never return, there is nothing inherently good or bad about that; none of us bound to the places from which we arise and while we carry with us the vestiges of culture and language we acquired from our socialization, anyone can become any identity they choose within reason. Some people choose to be citizens of the world, and that it seems to me young lady is something like the path you will find most fulfilling for yourself! But in any event, it is good that you captured these videos of your final visits home. Even if you never wish to return, you can always look back and remember and even when memories are not necessarily "good," we grow from the recollection.

Just for talking.. in all countries there's a place like the one she showed us I am Italian precisely Rome even if my city is very rich in culture and history from the ancient Romans to the Renaissance .. there are areas outside the heart of the city where the decay is absurd. life here is certainly not the same as that in remote areas in Russia but we must also understand that Russia is the largest nation in the world St. Petersburg will certainly be more beautiful than a remote village in Siberia .. Same here for Australia. I live in the city and love it, and there's also many beautiful and fantastic rural places, but very rundown/remote towns still exist. I think a lot of the issue is isolation, where in very remote places it's hard to get proper access to resources, and if you need a hospital it can take a long time to get there. The benefit AND downside to cities is that everything is close: important things like hospitals, shops and cultural centers, but also lots of other people, hahaha.

Only upside is that I am about an hour in any direction from several major cities so it makes up for living in the middle of nowhere lol
Wish you the best Natashia, love you❤️
Congratrulations on your gradutation and best wishes! I hope you find a good country to settle in!
I never think about how you live SO MUCH closer to China, Japan, Korea etc. than Europe. It only hits me when I see the map.
Naty, Congratulations! on your graduation. This formal step will prove valuable for sure - like a passport. With so much uncertainty it is so good to hear from you. Please stay safe.
All the best Natasha. Stay safe
So familiar with so much time, work, concern, schedules, and finally it arrives -- graduation!!. Congratulations. :) A brief moment looking back at that step so full of activity and accomplishment before the next step. The transition between these two steps should be fun -- a lot of new experiences ahead, watching the days unfold freshly. No more "watching the same movie" for you as you become even more the director now with the entire world as your studio.
Wish you all the best gal Hope u finally find yourself happy somewhere out your current place Much much love from Poland c;
Congratulations on graduating. Best of luck to wherever you go. And it's always a good motivator to keep telling yourself and others that you are going to do something, even if it has been four months. Keep focus on goals. One goal down (graduation)
Glad to hear from you again 😊
Congratulation's on your graduation, your hard work has done you a service. Stay safe.
Nice seeing you Natasha! Congratulations on your graduation and completing that journey. Don't worry too much about anything really because what does that do but bring you down. I appreciate your humor and observations of life there even when I see you are a bit down. You mentioned bridge collapses happening there, they also happen in the USA too as aging infrastructure falls apart. We have giant high rise apartment collapse too and our passenger trains are often delayed when they share the same line as a freight train as they are given higher priority. Excited to get your next video and learn of your plans on what is next. XOXO
Living in a big city all my life. The quite life like in your home town looks pretty good to me. Love your German Shepherd great dog's.
Great to see new update from you, and be safe 🙂
Congratulations!!!!!!!!!!♥️
Hi Natasha from Australia .. I like your home town posts. You seemed relaxed going home . I come from what was a very simple town and as a kid it gives you time to wonder what’s beyond. Great you completed your academics and shared time with your folks I am sure they are pleased to see you. Your life’s work has so much ahead of you. Keep on keeping on ! Take care

Ever heard of the Japanese internment camps in ww2. Same thing could happen to Russians. America will poke not just the big bear but all its pieces. That's what America does. Instigates, agitates and militates. Playing the same game for over a century.
Thank you for the video 🙂 Take care
Keep strong and good luck with everything Natasha :-)
It’s great to see you, Natasha. Congratulations on your hard-earned diploma! Huge accomplishment for you and I know that you’re glad to have your studies behind you. It’s good that you got to see your family and dog. I keep you in my prayers weekly. Stay positive and safe. Keep in touch.
