Lindsay, that really is beautiful. Good job! You've inspired me to start sketching more in my watercolour journal. Thank you for all you do. I can honestly say that I can now paint decently, I guess I'm an artist, lol, and I owe it all to you. Thanks again. Sincerely, Christina Todd.
My birthstone! Thx Lindsay, really beautiful😊

Very beautyful, Lindsay!
I'm a fine jeweler (and a paper crafter) and I love this painting- I also loved watching you paint it. You have inspired for YEARS!
Great video, thanks Lindsay.
Wow! Beautiful!
Wow. Glass is SO hard but you make it look easy! I'm guessing that particular ring is really a great piece for beginners. (Or maybe you just make it look easy lol) Most glass I've seen artists do, appeared to be way too difficult for me, so thank you very much for picking this one! This one I could at least try!
Wow Wow Wow!!!
This ring is awesome. Thanks for sharing.....
Wow! Stunning painting!
I absolutely love these sketchbook Sundays. Thank you so much Lindsay for sharing them with us!
Seeing this 5 years later since I want to paint a 15 years wedding anniversary painting for my son and his wife of their engagement ring. The center is a family heirloom Sapphire. The ring looks similar to Princess Diana's. This video will help a lot 🎉
This is amAzing, Lindsay!

It's lovely, Lindsay! I love the colors you used.
Beautiful, Lindsay. Other than the Ruby which is our birthstone, I think Amethyst is my favorite. I'd like to see you do this on some good w/c paper. Thank you so much.
Loving these sketchbook Sundays! Great job. Loved the reflections!
This is crazy but when I glanced at the thumbnail I thought you were going to do a tutorial on making the ring.....It is a beautiful painting, so realistic.

thank you so much for these videos, usually i found myself copying your tutorials like this as closely as possible in my own sketchbook just to hone my skills in shading and highlights. It really helps me learn so I can use what I learn to make my own original paintings. I can't tell you how much you have helped me grow as an artist.
Wow, you did make that ring sparkle! Beautiful sketch and awesome painting!

Oh, my goodness. That is sooooo beautiful. I watched you do it but still don't believe you did it :-) And I nearly choked on my coffee with the line about what's white going to fad to? Fantastic painting, great information, and a few giggles.
Omg, beautiful my birthstone. You,are amazing. Thx

My biggest issue with painting is not knowing how to go further, if that makes sense. I'll paint something and think "Well, that's as good as it's gonna get," or even "That looks good!" But someone else would be able to keep fiddling with it, adding little details here and there, and make it look even better. I just seem incapable of "seeing" those things! (I was reminded of this while looking at all the fiddling you had to do with that gem...which looks SO neat!)

veryberry39 I think my art work is done until I take a picture to share on Instagram, that is when I see it needs more work. It’ll look flat or this one area isn’t defined enough. Some people hold up to a mirror. Seeing it differently helps to see what is missing
@bharusiva477

Oh yes, like Shelly, thats how I proceed too. After a particular stage or I think it is finished overall, I take a picture in my mobile phone and look at it...and it tells me where what fiddling and adjustment is needed. I repeat that steps still I am satisfied.

Huh. I never thought of that! Then again, I'm also impatient and tend to want to get everything done in one go. I need to relearn patience...and I'm also going to remember this tip. Thank you, guys!

wow!!
the painting looks better than the reference photo
This ring is gorgeous. Maybe you can do more jewelry art.
I'd love to try QOR. Here in Paris, the Sennelier shop is the only one to sell them and they are so expensive. I once bought two of their series 1, which I rarely use, and it cost me 36 USD. I'm keeping an eye on Amazon but for the moment I use what I already have. Thanks for sharing this beautiful painting :)
Beautiful. ...Thank you. ...Muhteşem. ...😶
WOW
Beautiful painting :) when you started adding the shadows in the facets, it looked so wrong, but as it started to come together at the end it was awesome!!!!
Thank you so much, really enjoyed it! I didn't have a white pen (should get one!) so used white watercolor instead, better than nothing.))
