I have an angle grinder from WICKES which is not working. On inspection found a small brass or copper coloured spring around the base of each brush fitting but one was damaged and snapped. Can these be replaced and if so HOW? HELP!!!

Salamat boss.. Sana nagustohan mo ang gagawin kung battery pack.. Na try kuna sa motor ko. Halos 1 year na siya. Hindi oa nasisira.. Gusto ko pansana gumawa ng isa..

Yeah. You are right. The commutator sometimes it will disconnected because the carbon brush is too short

Stop using it because danger of fire. Open and clean everything inside with air compressor best or dry paint brush ok. Must have lot of dust inside. Metal dust heats up. As said above, make sure air vent are cleared up. If still heating up, could be a short circuit somewhere. Check all wiring for damage.

Just check it's resistance, it should be nearly the same everywhere - if it's too high it's burned, but it it's too low it's a short cirw
