Changing the spark plugs on a 1.0L 16 valve Nissan Micra K11 with individual ignition coils for each cylinder. This is a fairly straightforward job to do. Be careful not to let any dirt or debris fall into the cylinder as you remove the spark plugs. The recommended torque setting for the spark plugs is 20 - 29Nm (14 - 22 foot pounds).     a good tip when inserting the new plugs is to use a length of 1/2 inch hose to hold the plug to start the screw in.this makes it impossible to cross thread the plug hole-easily done with socket on soft alloy head .Once started change to socket.

    Are the Spark plugs for the 2012 ( K13 ) Nissan Micra Long Reach or Short?

    They are long reach. I think the thread length is 26.5 millimetres

    Sorry if stupid question- i use 16mm plug socket like you but the plug fall out when i try put it in. it does not stay in socket like yours ! hmm

    There's a rubber ring inside my 16mm socket which grips the spark plug.

    A simple trick will be to use the coil pack to grip the plug to either take it out or just put it back in. Off course you will need to use the socket to either loosen or tighten the plug. But the tip of the coil packs can usually help pull out the plug when totally slack, or insert the new ones into the well for a quarter turn before tightening.

    @@twinsonic No heat resistant Copper grease used on the thread. New plug not tightened to the correct torque. Indeed, a very unprofessional job.
