Wow, it looks delicious and it looks like a piece of art! I have tried paella before at a restaurant. It was expensive from what I can remember. It turns out it is easy to prepare!

Thank you! I guess paella can be expensive depending what type of paella and where you're eating it. Seafood tends to be the most expensive one. The more seafood creatures they put in it, the more you need to start counting the money 😃. In general here in Spain most paella are in good reasonable price range. And yes, it's really easy to prepare. When you have a good paella base (all the veggies and stock) you're good to go!

El Mundo Eats, at home, we cook brown rice, red rice and wild rice. One of these days I will try my hand on seafood paella. I will follow your video. Are you a professional chef? You seem to be very skillful in the kitchen! What I like about your videos is that they are direct to the point and they are short, under ten minutes. Well, thanks so much for sharing your know-how. I know I will learn a lot from you. Take care!

They are more local to Spain type seafood. But just use the clams and shrimps that you can find and like, it will work. Cheers!

Do you only use specific rice for paella?

Honestly I've used several types of rice for making paella but for me personally, paella rice or bomba rice is my favourite. It soaks up the flavors really great. Parboiled rice is good is a sense that it's never going to pass or get soggy but I do notice it doesn't soak up the flavors well. Basmati can be also, it's just that it tends to break easily. Well these are what I feel anyway. Some might feel on the contrary. How about you, what rice do you use?

Won't the calamari be overcooked and rubbery?

Hi Yean! No, they won't. Calamari has 2 cooking point. Short for 2-3 minutes and slow long cooking over 30 minutes. In between those two cooking points, they will be chewy and rubbery. Hope this helps. Thank you for watching the video!
