    Got the tempered glass version of this hoop today for $550 academy sports. I have an unopened 80lb bag of concrete in the base and water. Goal itself does not move much at all!! Very sturdy for the money! I think it’s the best portable hoop on the market for someone who’s on a budget looking for a quality hoop!

    I was looking for a video on this hoop back in march/April lol but nothing. I compared it to the Goaliath gotek. I read reviews some said it took 6 hours plus and instructions where not clear. It took me 3 hours on my own and can honestly say this hoop is exactly what I wanted. Looks and feels like an NBA size hoop for a great price. My 10yr old son gets to adjust the height when ever he wants. I had to order this online surprise non of the big store names carry this product. Great video!

    I have been trying to get either the; hybrid, the beast or platinum/Gold. Being in UK, this has been unavailable for a long time, not sure because of the COVID-19. After searching for a longtime, I settled for the Tarnac B900. I went for it mainly because of its ease of putting up and lowering. I will really want someone to do a review for that although I have already ordered it. In the U.K., the beast and Hybrid cost practically the same. Every US price tag; multiply by 2!🤣

    Yes, it is good. Has some unique design features like the backboard and frame that goes under the base. I'd consider getting the Silverback NXT though since it is basically the same hoop but the Silverback has slightly better quality overall.

    I'm looking at the 54" and 60" version of this hoop. Any advice on pros/cons between the two? My concern is that a 60" will be less stable and is probably more than I need. Looking at your 54" it looks ideal for my use case. The odd thing is that currently the 60" is cheaper (by $30). I am asking myself if it's cheaper for a reason.

    Does your rim move much once attached? We bought this system and it is properly mounted, but the rim/hoop sags forward a bit and then it has lots of play in it ( you can rock it up and down a few inches). I can solve this by tightening the spring bolt down more but then it is compressing the spring too much and you will no longer have breakaway potential.

  • @HTXLemarc

    @HTXLemarc

    Mine does the same thing, that's why I'm looking for a new one. I had the 54' polycarbonate angled hoop. I would always tighten it and when the ball hits the rim, sometimes the break away will make the rim pop up and stay until I hit the rim again, same thing when dunking. It always looks like it's leaning forward when I play, but when it's in the breakaway up position, it doesn't anymore but when you go to the front of the rim (or diff angles) you can see the rim is pushed up

    I plan to buy this but have a few concerns and hoping to get your thoughts: 1. I'll put it in our backyard which gets some high winds at times (approx. 40mph) - will it be able to handle it? 2. I plan to use a Dr. Dish IC 3 (the one that hangs on the rim, not the machine) - is the base strong enough to not tip when I hang this? Also, what's your thoughts about the backboard? I went to a sporting goods and tried to throw basketballs on the hoops on display - the Goaliath (Silverback NXT equivalent) feels like a very cheap plastic. Does this feel the same? Thanks,

    I am currently assembling mine. Did you have to drill a hole through the backboard to attach the bolt that holds the spring and rim? The manual is not specific at all on that section.

  • @bestoutdoorbasketbal

    @bestoutdoorbasketbal

    6 жыл бұрын

    Oh man, yes that part is confusing. Actually, the bolt and spring hold the rim up. So as you tighten the spring it will raise the rim until it is upright. Hopefully that makes sense. You do not drill any holes.

    I mean there are slots in the poles where they are meant to attach. You just need to be careful that you line the poles up accurately or you may end up with a crooked hoop. You'll want two people for this step.

You could probably hang on the goal depending on your weight, but I wouldn't recommend it since over time it would likely warp the rim and hoop. Spend the time working on your shooting and other skills that will make you a better hooper. Good luck!

    You can dunk but i would not recommend hanging on this rim. The rim is a breakaway rim so it is meant to be dunked on. No point in hanging either way so dont hang unless its for safety if your swaying.

    I have a very similar Spalding ring and weigh about 60 kg, hang time for me is very quick. The hoop starts to get sturdy after a couple seconds.

    I believe this is the same hoop that I own, at least it is made by the same company and looks identical. You can definitely dunk on it, its very sturdy. I have only hung on it for about a second, however, because I am afraid it might break, but it is ok if you hang for about a second. I weight about 145-150 pounds so for a heavier person they should probably not. Keep in mind this is not a goalrilla hoop, and it is not in ground, so it isn't meant for hanging, but you wont break it from hanging momentarily, as long as you're not too heavy.
