Thanks! Now I know how to keep my goal from falling over. Genius! Ironically, I heard you mention tornadoes. That’s 1 reason I was watching this video! We just lost our house & everything outside to the March/2020 F4 tornado in TN. Figured it couldn’t hurt to secure this new goal further than only using the base gel. Can’t wait til our house is rebuilt & I can take the goal home! Thanks again! 👌

Just did this today. Used the 8" ones, very solid. Pretty sure it will hold up to wind, but might just take it down and slide to the side of the house in that situation. This set up would make that easy.

Thanks, Dave, for posting this video. Screws and ratchet straps readily available online. One question: the previously referenced website that sells a hoop anchor kit--using less desirable thinner screws with shorter spirals--also includes a universal pole collar strap and a pole-to-anchor strap in order to lock the pole. Do you or any commenter think it would be worthwhile to improvise a set-up like this pole locking arrangement, and if so, how might you go about it? Thanks.

if you are having trouble installing the ground anchor, just turn your hose into a slow drip and let it soak over the spots for a bit , then it will go right in . this is coming from a dry california lawn that i can barely get 2~3 rings to go down, try to get as much as you can first so it forms a small divot too

Also to add we did a lot of reviews on how to fill the base. Sand we thought good but hard to move we weren't sure if we would be moving it at that time so no to sand. Water just doesn't hold good but you can empty it and move it. But what we use was BASE GEL we bought it at Big 5 Sporting Goods. This stuff works great you add the gel then water and it turns into a gel that is great and gives the same as 400 pounds of sand in the base but all you have to do is add sugar to reverse the effects and it turns back into water to empty and move base. BASE GEL it works great

Thanks for the information, I will be doing this with my new portable hoop. One problem with home depot is they only carry the 8" or the 16" in my area. The 8" might not be secure enough in high winds and 16" would be too much effort to get flush to the ground in the rocky/clay soil here. Amazon sells a 10" landscape spike like the one in your video and for a few bucks less than home depots less secure 8" product.

Mine had e hidden crack near the wheels, and I'm tempted to put in a little diy cement, about a hundred pounds or so, to give it some weight. Still going to use the anchors, though. How can you move this hoop??? Do you hold the pole then pull it towards you???

+pogingmasunurin Yes. Whatever side the wheels are on, you tilt the hoop that way, holding the pole. Be careful, it can be heavy.
