    Anything to help out. I'm still incredibly amazed in the performance. The bounce off the window combined with the lack of wobble of the backboard makes for very good expectation of how the ball should react when shot off certain angles off the backboard.

    Really wanted this, I'm looking for a hoop and I want something decent that doesn't have a shakey backboard. Unfortunately I can't afford the $1,000 price tag this seems to carry.

    The ratchet strap was one I had from some time ago so I don't remember brand or where I got it from, my apologies on that. However, any quality straps should do. I wouldn't recommend using cheap straps. You want as much support distributed through the strap as possible to minimize any vibration. These are the spiral anchors I used www.homedepot.com/p/Vortex-16-in-Steel-Folding-Ring-Spiral-Ground-Anchor-ANCFR16-ORG-A/202703690.

    I plan to buy this but have a few concerns and hoping to get your thoughts: 1. I'll put it in our backyard which gets some high winds at times (approx. 40mph) - will it be able to handle it? 2. I plan to use a Dr. Dish IC 3 (the one that hangs on the rim, not the machine) - is the base strong enough to not tip when I hang this? Also, what's your thoughts about the backboard? I went to a sporting goods and tried to throw basketballs on the hoops on display - the Goaliath (Silverback NXT equivalent) feels like a very cheap plastic. Does this feel the same? Thanks,

    1. We get some pretty aggressive storms in my region and it's held up very well. The spiral spikes and rachet strap performed well. I also make sure to not keep it any higher than 7 ft when it's not in use. 2.Not sure about Dr dish. What I will say is the rim and backboard are stout. They aren't flimsy at all. 3. In my experience the spiral spikes and rachet strap allow for very good game play simulation. It's not gym quality or sim but there is very little movement or play in the backboard when the ball hits it. I have 3 50lb bags of sand in the base and 1 on top total of 4 and the combination prohibits little to no movement. Be sure to by heavy duty long spikes.

    I went to Walmart last Wednesday and got a Spalding 60 inch acrylic screw jack portable hoop all black after my last one broke. Someone broke my backboard it was in my front yard and it happened in September at 2:00 in the morning i heard a loud noise some vandalizers probably shot it with a gun or it probably swung it with a bat. I got a doorbell camera at my house if i would’ve had a footage of the perpetrators I could’ve called the police about the perpetrators breaking my backboard. This time when i put together my new hoop i’m keeping it in my backyard for good.

    Base to the front of the backboard is 16 inches and 39 inches from base to front of the rim. So it would be pretty tight to run any simulations.

    In my opinion, acrylic is the better option. The acrylic on this unit is solid. The marriage of the grade of metal poles and acrylic backboard is outstanding. It Has the weight to handle vibrations, handles the elements well and simulates shots off the window at every angle nicely. Its looks great and cleans up easy. My biggest issue with polycarbonate is the lack of stability it has and unpredictably of the bounce.

    Additionally having an acrylic backboard allows it to hold a really solid goal. The goal on this unit is easily 35 lbs and can handle a quite a bit of force. A poly board lacks in that area of strength over the long haul.

  • @amatcow204

    @amatcow204

    3 жыл бұрын

    I've dunked with a little force just to see what it would take and it held up. You can't hang on the rim though. In my opinion the goal is pretty stout and can take being dunked with some authority just not violently. That for sure will shorten the life of the unit. There is also a decent spring that makes the goal breakaway.

    UGH. I just wanted to see how much it shook and how much the basket hoop bounced when the ball hit it. You just talked (and hit the backboard once). If you do other reviews, Talk less. SHOW ME.

  • @amatcow204

    @amatcow204

    Жыл бұрын

    I've found the unit has an unfavorable shake and ball will have abnormal bounce without adequate anchoring. I've found that the combination of 200 lbs of sand(bags) and 10 inch spiral ground spikes ratcheted down over the triangle brace significantly reduces any shake the backboard has to an absolute minimum if any. Without it, it's difficult to duplicate any type of in game simulations.
