Good breakdown of a conmon assembly for "fathers" I know my son is 16 now and ours has been assembled amd disassembled a couple of times due to moving. Great explanation of the elevator assembly and walk through. Thanks for sharing i know it will help quite a few DIY assemblies. 👍

One big thing that helped me was rubbing the poles with Ivory soap and then hammering them in. This made that process last only 5 minutes.

Water will freeze and bust your base.were using sand and don't forget to anchor base down with stakes and ratchet strap.if wind blows over will damage rim and or backboard.storm blew ours down and damaged it badly.base froze and busted with water in it.

Could you have attached the plastic framing on backboard before installing backboard to frame. Seems it would be much easier with all the pre-drilling.

@fondoo I can't get the threaded rod to screw inside of the hydraulic lift because of a welded mark. looks intentional. am I doing something wrong? otherwise the goal just sits at 7 feet

Update. Ended up taking a grinder and took off the edge. It worked.

How do you get the two hydraulic extension pieces to stay together?

My poles feel like they are too small. is that how it is supposed to be.

For anyone else struggling I sandwiched two scrap boards to each end, laid the poles on their side and used a ratchet strap to bring them together. Took 5 mins
