That was a wonderful drive. 😎 Spain has a lot of different climates in different areas, and northwestern Spain seems to be the closest to my climate up here in the somewhat temperate Canada. lol Your drives inspire me to find more of your videos to watch, but I found out I have watched them all, and some of them quite a few times. Great video! Just a remark: A8 starts on the border with France at Behobia, not on Bilbao. As a side note, it’s called Autopista del Cantábrico, as it goes along this sea.

Beautiful landscape !! I was there in April '18, but I drove at night, so I couldn't join it. Thanks for this great view! Looking forward to see the rest of this highway :-)

A-8 has several interesting sections in Asturias and Cantabria. Laredo - Bilbao is also quite spectacular.

I wish we had mountains back in the Netherlands, imagine commuting from Den haag to Utrecht by going through a mountain pass. Also you could see the scale on how small the Netherlands actually is, it would make traffic jams a lot nicer

Ribadesella is in Asturias, but Unquera is in Cantabria.

I drove this section at the beginning of October travelling back to Bilbao. It reminds me of the A55 in North Wales with the mountains & tunnels by the sea and the M6 through the Lake District. Just wish our roads were this quiet.

That's one of the great things of driving in Spain; the light traffic. Even in large urban areas traffic is manageable outside of rush hour.

Holy God smackers; that view at the beginning was jaw-dropping. :-O Nice autopista from start to finish. How much of the Spanish autopista system have you driven?

I've driven approximately 35% of the Spanish autovías/autopistas. Which is pretty good considering it is a 1000 mile drive to get there in the first place :-) By the way, in Spain about 4/5ths of the motorway / freeway system is denominated an "autovía". Autopista is associated with toll roads. Autovías have similar design standards and the same speed limit of 120 km/h.
