We really shouldn't be sitting here holding our breath and waiting to see what kind of nonsense they are going to cram into the game. Walking away and never looking back sends a much stronger, more clear, and faster message that this nonsense is not acceptable. We already know the types of "people" that are involved in making this game. We're wasting our time looking for things we know we are going to find.

This game can be an absolute blast from a gameplay perspective, but if there will be a single piece of activism inserted in there, I will not buy it.

DEI Detected will definitely analyze it when the game is released. He finds every little detail. It's even ridiculous to see WH40K getting involved with these woke policies. That's why I prefer Space Marine 1 and Dawn of War.

However, your dictionary appears to be very different from the others. Say the name or ISSN of the dictionary, I'm curious to consult and see what the antonyms of "fragile" mean.

They need to just give the main audience what they want instead of trying to cater to someone that never had any intention on liking it or doesn't exist, that's what they need to do.

@@588holly I have problems with that. After I got a job as a young adult, unless it wasnt avalaible anywhere, I tried to purchase/rent it. Right now, the hate/disdain I feel towards these companies is so big, that between giving them money, or just "grew" their "sales"...I prefer to ignore them.

I'm cautiously optimistic about it after their most recent behind the scenes feature didn't feature the T person. instead they let a normal, reasonable sounding guy as a creative director speak

We'll see how it shakes out. I'm personally irritated that a game that costs this much only has an approximated 12 hour campaign. Seriously, why even bother with it? And PvP only 6v6? I don't know why more people aren't upset about that. It's 2024 - not only do I expect far bigger teams and maps but destructible environments, dreadnoughts, vehicles, etc. I expect SM 2 to at least be at least more robust that SM1 that came out over a decade ago. I have high hopes for this coop/mission system; I'm assuming it's akin to the old Exterminatus type mode but considering there's only 6 maps out there, it's again quite anemic for the price. The game was expected a year ago; I'm excited for it but anything less than excellent performance at this point will not be acceptable.

My favorite part about this is they're claiming it's to help iron out bugs and make sure the game is stable. I know bigger studio and IP but does anyone remember the fiasco that was Helldivers 2 launch? Even IF they believe this is the way to go for "bugs/stability" it looks shady with all the DEI and progressive nonsence we've had lately. If you want to see if something works, you don't start with a throw it to the wolves day one approach. Well actually that's what the premium pre-orders are for right?

How can this be a good thing ? Having a public beta test is a big marketing opportunity . They chose to skip it , which means a lot less money . So the problems were so big at this moment , that they chose to resolve as many as they could - because not resolving them would mean an even bigger hole in the budget after the game goes gold . That is bad. No point in discussing the idea that the finished product would be bug-free . We have no info on that , it could be buggy as hell even with this re-prioritization . So this news doesn't speak about the final quality of the product , only on the current quality of it.

Interesting. Maybe their reasons for cancelling the public beta test is real. Or, they are working hard to cram more nonsense into the game. Given their history of doulbing down they are unlikely to try to remove any nonsense from the game.

Dont purchase the game, or at least, wait till some steam sales happens! We must hold the wall!

would it make it better or worse if they learned that space marines can start out very diverse but geneseed completely overrides that? like if a black dude somehow ended up on fenris and completed the trials he would still look like a viking after the transformation, same goes for a white guy landing on nocturne, he would look like any other salamander. actually i bet the whole melanin organ is gonna get retconned seeing the way things are going.

Technically speaking the Ultramarines geneseed has been (near as I can tell) soft rebooted by to not experience the melanin change that other legions do like the Salamanders (there are occasional glitches were you get an albino Salamander, but they're rare afaik) or Raven guard. As for Fenrisians... there are/were some darker skinned tribes out there close to the planet's equator, but I've no idea if any of them have gone through the trials to become a Space Wolf or not. Then again, I'm a xenos guy first, guard fan second, space marine distance 3rd, so take this with a grain of salt. Honestly the ultramarine geneseed not requiring a melanin shift make sense due to the absurdly diverse number of successor chapters they have, with their skin usually a reflection of their chosen homeworld's dominant population. Only other legion I know of that probably doesn't have a 'melanin gland' is the Imperial Fists, due to their successor chapter the Crimson Fists being clearly Hispanic-inspired (their Chapter Master is named Pedro Kantor ffs).

Don't pre-order anything it's just not worth it wait till it comes out. It's my most anticipated game but I am not touching it till I see the day one reviews. However I will be reading reviews and if its just technical or server issues it's fine they will patch that.

Well unless they go Ubisoft and charge 60 for base game, 70 for a season pass and 60 for an add-on, it may have potential.

We have some optics on how little a game can change within the last few months of development. With Battlefield 2042, the Beta release was atrocious for that game and fans were assured that the Beta build of the game was from an earlier build that wasn’t representative of the final product. Yet when the game launched it was exactly like the Beta with the same bugs and performance issues that were present. Now we could just assume that EA lied at that time to shift into damage control and keep people from abandoning pre-orders but datamined info of the Beta at the time suggested that they were in fact telling the truth about which Beta build they released to the public, which means many months went by without any significant improvements to the state of the game. Now bear in mind that EA/ Dice is a much larger studio than Saber and was drawing manpower from other studios to work on the project so their ability and capacity to fix issues and debug were far greater than Saber’s presently are. Helldivers 2 devs at Arrowhead Studios officially announced the game “went gold” (finished, playable, and ready for launch day) in early January which was a month before it was released. Combine this with the fact that the few people that got to play the Space Marine 2 demo at the Summer Games Festival less than a month ago reported that the companion AI was brain dead and that the combat was not very exciting and we might have kind of a problem. My issue with not releasing the Beta to the public is that Saber had a Beta segment prepared for SGF. It’s already packed in a box and ready to present to the public. But something must have happened at SGF either with the demo or with player feedback that caused them to get cold feet. Throw in the fact that the game is slated to release in 90 days and we still don’t have minimum PC spec requirements and I’m starting to think the game is VERY unoptimized and whatever PC was running the game to showcase the graphical fidelity and smooth performance of the game at SGF was probably using top-of-the-line components which makes me very worried ESPECIALLY for console players. I think it’s worth noting that developers have a lot to gain by releasing a Beta. Diablo 4 saw a massive surge of preorders after their 3 successful Beta test windows and it gives players confidence in the stability and playability of a product. It also gives people outside the 40K fandom a general idea of what they can expect going in blind. It reaffirms fan’s conviction that the game will be as good as the trailers suggest. And also the requirement of a Beta is relatively low. Battlefield 3 showcased 1 multiplayer map and 2 game modes. Diablo 4 showcased one area of the map and a string of quests from Act 1. I feel like zooming in and optimizing a fragment of campaign gameplay for the general public is not hard to get running and looking good. And if you can’t… it’s because it still needs performance optimization, or graphical polish, or debugging, or worse all three. The benefits to having a fun game showcase seem obvious and it only makes the PR side of things look worse when you announce a beta and then say “actually no, you can see the game until you’ve paid money for it”. They would only do that if the situation was serious.

Ill wait for game reviews from players.

Im all for making sure a game is probably optimize and all that but we seen this before and we see how it ends.

I never played the first space marine game but this game looks pretty damn interesting but I wonder was spice Marine one was that on PS3 too.

Please watch the new Behind the Scenes. The lead writer is a member of the GW studio. Plus the Director has stated he has read multiple black library novels and used them as inspiration while writing the story.

On the one hand, that means he probably knows his shit when it comes to the lore (or at least the post-Primaris lore probably). On the other hand, I wouldn't be surprised if ANOTHER fucking chaos cult pops up in the game to usurp the Tyranids as the main antagonist, same as they did with the Orks in Space Marine 1.

Optimization and polish are valid arguments for a new release. If the game has frequent fps drops and stutters, or constant crashes. Then it's gonna look bad on the devs. Especially because they're (again) doing a play 4 days early thing, if you preorder... (which I despise btw)

Ive always been ok, but not super happy, about paid cosmetics, but as long as gameplay is not locked behind separate paywalls then it is more than fine. since it always sucks when I can't bring my friend with me to the cool shit without having to shell out for like, 40$ of extra shit that shouldn't be an actual barrier to us gaming out.

Will wait and see what goes on I had to put up with a buggy CYBERPUNK 2077 on my Ps5 for nearly a year, and sound up buying a physical copy with phantom liberty elf on the cheap due to instability. So I am not pre-existing this On the lore side, seeing as am partial to WH40K lore, nope to female estates seeing as the gene-seed/implants are coded for males. Unless of course Slaanes/she who thrusts takes a space marine and fuses it with a female (😫), which probably be worse. Female custodes, well totally different can of worms which I ignore due to that faction being so elite they are based in the Terran system of the Imperium.

Isn’t the entire point of a beta test bug fixing and polishing by using outside eyes and experiences to spot things that have been missed? Seems suspicious to me. Definitely not buying without seeing full reviews.

If this gets ruined due to identity politics then it was intentional. This is a game that would be pretty easy to make into something very likable and can be a guaranteed money grabber through expansions and DLC. There is a ton of directions this game can lean to be very successful so I see any kind of failure is deliberate.

I think if they show wokeness mass cancel of preorder, if it does I'm refunding of their bait and switch.

I don't understand this, the beta would likely have been for multiplayer that's one and two would you rather they released it buggy and unplayable? don't preorder if you don't want to, your choice but wait till the game comes out before automatically making assumptions. and the writer in question was dropped from the project over a year ago but apparently, that doesn't matter.

I'm not sure on the timeline, but once they branched off into recruiting from other worlds and broke into chapters with their own recruitment, I'd imagine many chapters recruit different races save some purist chapter that's probably bordering on heresy.
