Space Engineers High Tech Factory/Vault Door

Ойындар

Another project I've been in the middle of and part of the next factory. Its not in its finished state, still a bit bouncy. Thanks to Blackarmor for those nifty gears! Enjoy the vid!

    @@robertnewborn5395 I do not sadly. Its pretty simple though. You make a large hinge, delete the top of it, and make a small grid over to the large hinge, add a small hinge where it should go, and then attach it in the menu. I usually watch a lot of splitze space engineers vids, and occasionally some of the people he has collaborated with, but this video popped up in my recommendations and the thumbnail clip intrigued me. So I popped it on and I wasn’t disappointed! I can see this could have clang written all over it, but I love it! That would look great in a splitze build or even better a scenario that he and capac have to enter for some reason! It looks so seamless and beautifully designed. But I bet it takes up a whole lot of space lol and any component could potentially have clang and blow it up! Good work 👍

    Hey thanks man! I'd be honored if they used this for a scenario lol. This is just a piece of the cog for the thing this thing should turn out to be.

    Excellent work as always. Kind of makes me hope they can implement some kind of magnetic rail. So when something is dragging on the same grid that it doesn't need to do the whole wibblewabble. If they can fix it with pistons they should be able to figure it out with hinges:P

  • @ApologiesSE

    @ApologiesSE

    I COULD fix this. It would just take more time and redesigns that I didn’t want to do a few days ago lol. But I plan on making it less wiggly. I dig the mag rail tho 100%

    You can achieve a kinda similar effect with 1x1 wheels (or 3x3 small grid wheels riding in passages) but ofc, that adds a a lot more clang potetial, but for simple designs, it's not that risky if a little ugly.

    Awesome project! The level of sophistication this work requires can only be understood if you try to create your own basic door system and have to overcome all the collisions/clang problems you will face. I can't imagine how much time this things exploded/shuttered/got stuck to arrive to such state :). You rock! How did you code the password check though? I am so surprised that's even possible in this game! And can't imagine yet all the possibilities it can offer!

    lol it took me some time to think of it, its basically timers triggering and turning off the one before it, and on the keys that don't use the combo, it has a reset built in.
