Totally agreed regarding the Voxativ room, the first song was okay but once adapted on 2nd song & w/ the right music, i realized their tonality was most natural and voice/acoustic instruments sounded wickly real! It's truly an "ear opening" experience. Great stuff!

Wonderful summary of the show and the need to adjust oneself to the “vibration” of the room as there are so many different approaches. Soundlabs was definitely a favorite and a real treat to hear in the wild. I just wish they had a vinyl front end to complement all the vinyl in the room from MA.

Mikey - thanks as always for the insight. I identified with (and respected) your points on understanding the people and context before spending on a brand. I collect in a different area, and the key advice to people new to that hobby is “buy the dealer, not the [object]”. I share the thought because what you care about as a dealer is what I would look for and how I pick dealers in my own hobby - jonwatches

Would agree on Angie fine job on those horns. Heard about 6 systems that sound stage very well with very good tone . Liked the smaller 50k system over the 2 mil borreson system . There where a lot of field coil speakers musical but all of them a bit veiled for me. the YG Acoustics speakers I much enjoyed. Very unhappy with the sound labs berning amp sound one of the least good sounding room the three times I tried to listen to them. Agree an AGD and Indegio rooms . Black ice was good . Audionote UK was very listenable had some cool tapes and turntable the 211 where a better set to drive the field coil speakers. This is the best venue for audio show I have seen in the last 40 years for me. Hope this one get larger closer to Axphona size.

I can tell your taste. If you would stay in a single driver room and acclimate, you will realize they are missing nothing other than the shiny bombastic sugar coating of multi driver speakers. Same with SoundLabs and Berning. One of the best in show. Though it's for seasoned ears from people that like to spend hours relaxing to music. We spent much time in that room and I'm not new to audio listening. The speakers were sold at the show. Not too many rooms have that happen. ;-)

@@OCDHIFiGuy This is a question of preference spent time in several single driver rooms with field coils found them involving musically . However not what I heard in studio where the mics where placed and setup for recording . Single driver paper cones give a very good in the audience presentation and a fun to listen to . My preference is one of the closer miked sort not really sugar coated to me . sugar coating comes for me from the over produced recording with too much reverb and effects added . for the quality of many recordings the paper single driver will give a much more enjoyable time as it is more forgiving of heavy handed recording engineer and producers.

Audiophile Junkie and his ‘Posse’ felt that the Soundlabs were in too small a space and too close to the wall. AJ felt that maybe there wasn’t good synergy between the amp and speakers. His conclusion was don’t come to firm conclusions about equipment from a single demo in a hotel room where good stuff might not sound it’s best or even come close reaching it’s potential. He mentioned one room that he thought sounded sub-par on 1st day and excellent on 3rd due to hard work on the setup. Maybe the Soundlab speakers would have made an even better impression with some changes to the room, etc. Enjoyed the summary.

Anyway , I do have a question or two if possible!? First , do you think of maybe in the future reviewing / talking about less expensive items , and with less expensive I mean 3000/4000 to 5000/6000 Max!? And now a ( i do find) a very interesting question ,…. Do you know Revival audio , and their Atalante series? …. Why do I ask this ? Everytime a brand gets rave reviews everywhere for each model of the series ( and I mean everywhere) I do start to turn on my thinking cap ( dangerous cap) :) …… Could this be the real deal ? Or is one more over de top revered brand due to other interests ? What is your opinion ?

Mikey how can an audio file tell anything through my computer on my iPad or my iPhone through headphones sounds horrible and not doing me any favors I’m more interested in what they’re using and what’s on the scene that’s what interests me as an audio file am I missing something is there something I should go investigate that’s what I wanna know from the shows. And I think if you ask a poll of all your viewers, most of it would probably agree with me and if you were on my end, you would definitely be making a comment to me as if I was producing the podcast. @@OCDHIFiGuy his ugly speakers are 96dB.. imagine the performance if they will be active instead of passive. My view is that $ is wasted on things like fancy cabinet surrounding mid and high drivers or field coil woofers which sometimes cost 6 grand. Or 3 inch thick bass cabinet ( Gobel) when a tube from titanium or carbon is just perfect. slate vs brazilian granite? Fischer vs Acora? For me the biggest difference is mids in open baffle and larger woofer instead of 6 inch and active xover all of which dont cost a fortune

What you've proposed is a connection to the music, not the hardware as a status symbol, or merely for the aesthetic, or the ear candy which is too hard to listen to for long periods of time, but now you're promoting something else now. You're promoting the culture of a particular brand. How is that connecting with the sonic, the sound? It's not. Connecting to a particular culture because you like the people may be something a person who's in the position of SELLING HiFi may be interested in, and I get that, but it's of no interest to the buyer. Again the focus is shifted back to the stigma of ownership of a brand. Reminds me of the virtue signaling the Tesla buyers often buy for, it's just another form of status, 'Hey look at me, I'm a wonderful person part of a wonderful class of people. Buying brand X HiFi makes me a better person than if I bought brand Y. Apple Mac marketed that way as well. They had to their computers were overpriced compared to the rest of the market. It's just another exhibition of pride.

Really, you're THAT clueless ??? Let me break it down to your "afraid of being sold something" level. Talk about virtue signaling. Look at you signaling that you are smarter than others... lol. Ridiculous. Here's the cut, Homie... Intent begets design. If you had ever made a product for the market, you would be aware that it starts with intent. A greedy pig will conceive a "moneymaker". This means make it as cheap as possible and go heavy on marketing to milk the piss out of the buyer. You. You're the stupid chump that falls for the marketing. So you overspend for something that promised to deliver but does not. You get bitch slapped for jumping on the bandwagon with the others in the Herd, because you want to belong. Trust me, I totally know how to market to your cud chewing ass. It's easy. You're my mark and I make fun of your stupid ass when I look at my bank account. I call you a COW. I milk you and the rest of the farting Herd. I tell myself if I don't do it, someone else will. I sell only as a means to get OUT of the business because I loathe the stupid cows asking stupid questions and thinking stupid shit is important. Do you like this relationship ? Do you want to support me in my contemptuous milking of the Herd ? If yes. Then great. You keep the greed machine turning. Bow before your master. OR... I love PEOPLE. I want to share in fun experiences together. I find that MUSIC brings people together. I find it crushes all boundaries, races, creeds and religions to unify us as HUMANS. I am fortunate enough to be able to facilitate this love and unity from the heart. It's obvious. So I create things that foster relaxation and serenity rather than anxiety and showmanship. I price them within reason and I actually care whether or not your listening experience is fulfilling to you. I guarantee results and give 100% refunds freely and without hesitation. Because I don't care about taking your money as my prime intention. I understand it will come as a byproduct of helping others get what they want. Is it that hard to understand ?? I guess so. You must be a teenager...
