Southwest Airlines Boeing 737-800 Engine Cowling Rips Off
Ойын-сауық
Passengers onboard a Southwest Airlines Boeing 737-800 at Denver International Airport witnessed a terrifying ordeal on Sunday, April 7th, as the aircraft’s right engine cowling tore off during takeoff and slammed into the wing. The Dallas-based carrier, along with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), are investigating to determine the cause of the incident.

Yup. And this is why I tell people that far from 'laughing at Boeing', Airbus is deeply concerned about media hyper focus on aviation given their tendency to sensationalize even mundane issues.

Sure! Mainly by those who don't understand anything about the subject!
If maintenance did leave the cowl unlatched, it should have been noticed by one of the pilots on their pre-flight walk around.
I think the last person who did maintenance for that engine might be looking for other employment 😂
United Airlines: Phew! Glad it was not us on the news this time.
Can't blame Boeing for this. But some will.
Strange how many Boeing using airlines have suddenly forgotten how to do maintenance apparently.

It’s kind of strange that now Boeing has issues with more airlines. It now seams that Southwest has suddenly forgotten how to do maintenance on their jets. United has been getting better. Hopefully this is the only incident for Southwest
