It’s sad to think that his wife didn’t get to see him fight and train to protect himself.

There are only a few boxing movies in my opinion that are as grounded in reality as this is. In almost every Rocky and Creed movie all they seemingly need to do is to get buff, rough, and tough. They never seem to bother much with strategy or technique. In fact, Rocky 3 is the only movie where Rocky actually learns to use footwork and head movement. Even the way Rocky does mitts is hilarious. Here Tick is teaching Billy techiniques that would make sense for a more aging fighter. Billy is a naturally talented brawler but did not bother much with defense. He also teaches him to punch with better precision. IMO its more important to have precision than power. Power wont do good if you can't hit your target, while precision punching without power will at least score you some points. Plus with good defense you can better protect a damaged eye. You can see that he is doing a lot of Mayweather stance here also

@@Ironheart73 Did you actually watch the rocky movies? Mickey is always chastising rocky for not knowing any technique and only being a brawler. Which is why he basically just walks into everyones punches. And creed was the opposite. In creed 1 he has technique but he has no conditioning. And in creed 2, he has to learn to go against fighters bigger than him by staying in the pocket and brawling it out in arms reach, effectively having to learn to be more of a brawler.

Creed is a movie great for the casual fan, southpaw literally by the title alone tells you it’s more directed for the real boxing fans

There are different schools of philosphy in the art of boxing. The afro-american is so special, because it got most soul, the irish the joy of the combat, the french cockiness and knights learned the leathelness of boxing to add kicks and weapons later. African was born out slavery, standing against a wall, being part of the wall, irish from a religion favoring the joy of flesh, french from revolting successfully and knights kill as a craft ... and all the same enemy: tyranns... #provos #cyberpunkcoltoure #jedi #noblessoblige

😂 world champion but never did head movement drills? The boxing is about as realistic as a Rocky movie. Hollywood getting boxing wrong isn’t new but the biggest problem with this movie was that nothing is done about his wife’s murder. She’s shot at a public event with cameras everywhere and they only mention the incident for dramatic effect.
