I used to watch WWE back in highschool (when it was good around 1999-2002 ish) and whenever people said it was fake, I'd wait until I heard them talking about a film they watched or something and I'd hit them with "you know it's fake, right?" and they'd be all confused. I see it differently on the note of the sport, is it physically demanding? Of course, but it's not a sport, it's a show, it's acting, the winners are decided before anyone steps into the ring, it actually is much more similar to what you would see at a theater than what you would see at the Olympics, Shakespeare isn't all about monologues either, there's also fight scenes and choreography, how much of each there is in comparison differs but the goal and format is the same Is it still entertaining? Of course it is! That's the entire purpose it's all about entertainment and nothing to do with who is the actual best fighter so that would be pretty bad if it wasn't entertaining If you really don't want to ruin wrestling for yourself, don't ever look at how the performers themselves get treated within those organizations

@@chipbutty3645 Yeah, the punches could be timed although is hard to plan a whole 20+ minute fight from start to finish. The stories are 100% planned, the injuries should be real I have saw blood spitting from them and they didn't had a knife or anything to injure themselves, even then the injury would still be a injury. I think the punches and injuries are real, now are the fights planned? Maybe... But I don't think you can plan the whole match from start to finish, probably just who will win or who will punch who first.

Some of those moves, if you could pull them off in a fight or get done incorrectly, could really mess someone up. Beyond the acting and promos there's some serious level of athleticism going on. I have some level of admiration for pro wrestlers, it might be fake but it is not easy. When I was young I was flipping channels on the satellite TV and saw "Wrestling" for the first time, I remember being so exited by it. Few months later when I learned it's all fake, I was so incredibly disappointed by it, I thought it was the stupidest thing ever and that is mostly a view I have to this day. 😀 I would have been probably fine with it if they were more overt about the fakeness, or if I heard about it before I saw it, but this way the deception totally ruined the whole thing for me.

Never realized it was so bad until my discovery of the wrestling section of Yahoo answers. I suspect half of the "it isn't real" stuff. Came from other wrestling fans. It's funny their own ignorance of wrestling. Results in them thinking the fans are ignorant.

There are people who think the world is flat... Of course there are people who think wrestling is real. People are vibe checking when they ask. It would be just as concerning if someone said they thought Stranger Things was real. Or that David Blaine really does magic, magic. You'd be surprised how many gullible people are just in the states. Or not if you've been paying attention.

You fall off a 12 foot ladder and see how fake it is. I tell people you can fake many things you can't fake gravity yes they go through training to where if this happens you take the least amount of actual damage but you still take damage to your body either way.
