My fiancé and I are planning on a wedding on the beach at South Padre Island. There’s actually a wedding planner that specializes in weddings at South Padre Island. We’re hoping to arrange this before November.

We were just there the other day best relaxing not too crowded.

That's because texas is like 4 or 5 states in 1. I moved from West Texas to Corpus Christi once and my grandpa and uncle drove me. It was like an 11 or 12 hour drive.

We go there every year (March/April), 24-hour drive for us but we love it.

😮😮😮😮 I love it here in Texas but nothing, not even Mexico, compares to the the 30A beaches between Destin & Panama City beach. Literally HEAVEN on earth….hope you get to experience if you haven’t already.

@@Changedlife210I finally got to visit Destin for the first time last summer. It was incredible!!! The most beautiful water I’ve ever seen, and it still had the Texas friendliness you would expect from SPI.

I’ve never been to South Padre Island, Texas before.

​@bj10jgo no not really. Once you go out a few feet you can't see anything. It's even worse at Mustang Island.

Where is this? What zone? I went to spi last week but the water wasn’t that clear and it was very cold, i stayed in the holiday inn express

Your clearer warmer water won’t roll in until late July, you may get a few breaks in June, when the SE winds match the tidal currents

June end. Ideal time is to visit during March-April when weather is not so hot

Depends on your definition of warm, for most locals one the water reaches that 78 79 temp it’s more receptive, I’ve seen non locals jump in there when it’s barely over 70 degrees and enjoy it.

It will range from the low/mid 50's over winter to up near 90 during the summer. It's 80+ about 5 to 6 months out of the year.

I hear people keep saying its a white sand beach, but its golden sand. The panhandle of Fl and Clearwater, Siesta Key have white sand.

What's strange is when you go all the way to the North end of South Padre , were they made the Mansfield Cut and cut the Island into two Island's the sand dunes are pure white sand , I have been to Ft. Walton and Destin Beach on five separate trips including last summer and I couldn't tell any difference , there is absolutely zero people on that end of the Island completely undisturbed and I think that the Sun bleaches out the sand overtime .

One question It allows drink alcoholic beverages on the beach?

Is South Padre affected by the hurricanes? Do migrants come there from Mexico? Do Canadians spend the winter there?
