It's almost like people thought South Carolina stopped recruiting after they had the big freshy class headlined by Boston Cooke and Beal. They have so much talent on the team that they lost McDonalds All-Americans like Saniya Rivers, and Talaysia Cooper from the team.

You must don’t keep up with women basketball recruiting. I am from South Carolina. SC always has a top 4 recruiting class in the last 7 years. This team is full of talent. 9 McDonalds All Americans are on this rooster. No one has that in the country!

Did people really believe that the last two years Dawn forgot how to recruit. She had the number one and the number two recruiting classes for the past two years if I’m not mistaken, so it shouldn’t be a surprise that the ladies who had to wait behind the Freshies actually know how to ball. I’m from sc and fulwiley might be the best guard I’ve seen since ivory latta. Once she starts to play with some control on the court and things begin to slow down she’s going to be a problem for the next three years. Also let’s not forget about Ashlyn Watkins defensive on the other end. She scores in the paint like a mini 6’5 Boston and also blocks shots.

The 'experts' were foolish to presume there would be this big drop off. If they had just taken the time to look at the roster (including new recruits and transfers) they would have, or at least, should have known better. Silly rabbit, tricks are for kids. Did they not realize who is still coaching? Did they forget about the last 10 years (especially the last 5)? Lesson learned, I hope.

It's still early but they look dominant so far. They are the best shooting Dawn Staley team in 16 years. Pao Pao is money. They do seem to be having fun qnd that's key. Fulwhiley is getting all the press because she's flashy but people forget, there are eight Mickey D's All Americans on this team. Imagine having a team that is so loaded that Shania Rivers had to transfer to NC State in order to get more playing time. And today is a big day for the Gamecocks .... Joyce Edwards is announcing today. Most believe it is between LSU and the UofSC.

I think it’s insane everyone is making predictions after literally one week of the season. I think there are alot of teams that are capable of winning. I never thought SC would just not be a Final Four team. And I’m not ready to crown them the prohibitive champs yet tho. In a few weeks we will see if Maryland and Notre Dame stay in the Top 25, and if they don’t those wins SC has had would be technically against unranked teams. I still think LSU and UConn have comparable talent along with SC. But I would not say either team is that much better than the other until at least January or February. Also we’ve seen time and time again the #1 team get upset like we saw last year. I honestly think this is going to be a season that comes down to the team that is playing the best basketball at the right time. Right now SC is. But who’s to say that won’t change. I don’t care who LSU and UConn lost to in week one. If you think those two teams by the end of season won’t be serious title contenders along with SC you haven’t watched the sport long. It’s fun to make predictions but you’d be foolish to honestly count out SC, UConn, or LSU. I for one still had SC making the Final Four at the end of last season. I’ve seen UConn teams dominate the entire season then lose at the Final Four which is what we saw from SC in April. This season’s title is definitely is up for grabs and I honestly don’t think where a team is ranked especially early is gonna matter in the long run. Apart of the reason in my opinion South Carolina came out the season playing good is because they felt disrespected by the preseason ranking. Which means there really wasn’t any pressure on them because people weren’t expecting them to be good. Well now that pressure that was on LSU and UConn shifts back to South Carolina. And teams will now be hunting them to get clout off of beating them. I’m curious to see how their players handle that aspect of the expectations which caught up to last year’s SC squad against Iowa. If I’m SC, LSU, and UConn I would want to lay in wait and let another team have to carry the pressure of winning. Players play differently when they have nothing to lose. And now in a way LSU and UConn don’t have anything to lose in the same exact way SC didn’t to start the season. It’s going to be interesting how it all shakes out. I still think the national champion will be SC, LSU, or UConn.
