Build up enough followers and when you come to the states you'll find out the people here will take care of you, seriously. All you'll need is a place to stay and if you trust someone well enough they'll probably let you stay with them for free. It happens to creators a lot when they come over. Plus if we take you out to eat they'll probably pay for your meal. They'll let you know what to use your money for and keep you away from expensive things you don't need away lol. In the south we're very hospitable to strangers so come and bring the tribe and have a good time with us. Just don't trust anyone with man bun 😂😂😂😂

Fried okra is probably my favorite food. It was a craving when I was pregnant. I bought a deep fryer just so I could make fried okra 2-3 times a day. It’s so great. I’m from the South though. Some people think it’s slimy but that’s if it’s boiled or stewed. Not slimy if it’s breaded and fried or stir-fried.

@@sweetwater156 My favorite use of worchester sauce is prepping steaks. Add garlic powder (no salt) and the sauce, then use a fork to poke holes on both sides so the meat can breathe. Leave it out overnight at room temperature. Put it in the oven at 350F for about 30min to a hour. Use a satula to push down on the steak. If it sinks, it's rare, bounce back means medium or medium rare, no movement means well done.

@@sweetwater156 I use W sauce for stakes as well. At night, I take a steak, add garlic powder, and W sauce, use a fork to punch holes on both sides, then leave covered at room temperature. Cook it the next evening while boiling some wild and white rice. After that, add butter to the pan. Stir fry some sliced portabello mushrooms. Add olive oil, pan fry some broccoli and until it turns slightly green, add some stock and cover. No salt. Wait till the pan steams for a few minutes then uncover. It's large meals but leftovers are great for the next day, too.

She could do some amazing things with bacon grease, lol. The south also has a huge immigrant population, so the wide varieties of food available here might surprise someone's who's never been. So, I can get amazing pho, amazing BBQ, amazing African food (we have a huge African immigrant population here in NC), Carribean... etc. And to us super lazy foodies, its all on Doordash! I had Lebanese for dinner last night.

I am from Memphis, Tennessee in the US and I come from a barbecue family (This is actually a big thing. If you don't believe me, google what happens in my city during the month of May). What most people don't realize about barbecuing is how the method of cooking changes the texture of the meat. I could chew through a tractor tire easier than a raw cut of brisket, but after 10-12 hours, you can cut it with a spoon. Pulled pork comes from a shoulder or butt cut of the pig. It's tougher than Texan teeth. But again, you put it on a smoker long enough and the meat fall apart in your hands. No knife required, you can sink your bare hand into it as easy as warm butter. Welcome to my TED Talk

Savannah, GA is where you want to visit. I lived there for two years going to school. It's an art school town, so very progressive, lots of arts, history, culture, restaurant, drag scene, art school students, etc. Nearby is Tybee Island, about 20 minutes outside of town and an easy straight-line drive, with beach weather for at least 10 months per year. The historic district you can walk across in a day, and there are carriage tours and such if you like those. Of particular interest is Savannah's St. Paddy's Day celebration. They have the same "drink on the street" law that New Orleans has, and it's exactly like a smaller, more controlled version of Mardi Gras where you're less likely to get stabbed. While living there, I saw cars with Boston license plates coming to celebrate St. Paddy's in Savannah. Have fun!

Little fun fact... Jolly has a previous relation to Masterchef: Josh's (jean jacket/white sweater) wife Gabie Kook came second place on a season of Masterchef Korea, not too long before she met the boys. She has her own youtube channel but also occasionally appears in their videos as well as regularly helps out Jolly off camera with the cooking for several of their food-centric videos on their two channels. Their original channel is Korean Englishman which I also highly recommend; it's just as entertaining and hilarious. They were the one to originate the viral super spicy Korean fire noodles challenge.

To answer your question, YES, to-go boxes or doggie bags are a thing over here in America, even in fine steakhouses. I've heard Brits say they felt embarrassed taking to-go boxes when they visited here, but were overwhelmed with the giant portions of food we hand them, compared to anywhere else they travel. What can I say, Americans think not just big, but the biggest in everything we do! Inventing airplanes was pretty good, what's bigger than that? The moon, son! Alright, got the moon, what's bigger? Mars! Stuff like that. Come here, expect huge portions of food on every meal. Expect your rental cars and trucks to be bigger. Expect bigger hotel rooms and showers. Expect bigger everything here! :D

Have you've tried Hawaiian BBQ? This is when people dig a whole, put in hot coals or heated rocks, lay down palm leaves, put in a whole pig that has been gutted and thooves removed, lay down move palm leaves, and more hot rocks. Then they bury it back up with dirt. By dinner time the next day, the pig is cooked and so tender and flavored by the palm leaves. It's as tender as pulled pork.

There's a huge difference between BBQ grilled and smoked meat. Grilling meat takes minutes. Smoking meat could take days. A good brisket could take 2 days to be ready to plate. Ribs takes half a day. One rule about smoking meat. Low and slow. Heat never gets above 280. Best beginner reference is a hour per pound at the least.

Something you said early in the video caught my attention, "I can't wait to get the barbecue out this summer". Maybe this will help with the perspective difference. In the US, especially in the South a barbecue is not a utensil, it is a cooking process. To us it refers to cooking meats for long periods of time (8 - 12 hrs) over low heat. The Jolly video points out a bunch of the traditional side dishes that one gets when you get barbecued meat. I've eaten where the Jolly video is shot and it is really really good BBQ.

They are butchered that way to make sure the diner gets a thick, meaty rib ensuring the diner can take a bite and come away with beautiful St. Louis rib meat, not gristle! We also have a cut available in St. Louis, but nowhere else called a pork steak which is one of the most common cuts of meat grilled at almost every St. Louis Backyard BBQ. At just about every grocery store there's a huge section of packs (usually 4, 6, 8, 10 or 12. If you need more just buy multi packs)

Come to the PNW in the summer when the salmon are running. Big tradition here indirect grilling or smoking salmon on cedar planks. Delicious. Geoducks, mussels, and crab are good here, too, and white clam chowder (often in bowls carved from fresh cooked bread loaves) is a year round staple on the N Pacific coast. You can see all kinds of stuff in the myriad tide pools, but you cannot harvest from them as the tide pools are federally protected.

In the US, Barbeque and Grilling are two different things. BBQ is low, slow, indirect heat. Meat is cooked for hours and hours (usually overnight) to develop a deep bark on the food. Usually served with some sort of sauce (different areas of the US have VERY different BBQ sauces) except in Texas, as they prefer a dry rub. Grilling is something everyone that doesn't live in an apartment or condo does. Everybody's got a Grill out back. People at home will use BBQ to describe grilling, but they're honestly two different things.

If you liked Noah with Josh and Ollie (Jolly), they do one more video together where Noah takes them to Waffle House at 3 in the morning after a night of drinking for Noah's birthday. It's a great video. :):)

Brisket is a pretty cheap cut, but it does need to be slow cooked or it can be tough. But as soon as it has cook the minimum it needs it goes from tough to smooth.

14:20 if you don't need a (to)go box, then the staff at the restaurant probably feel like they didn't do their job well enough.

Hope all is well, no break-in As a US resident, the travel advice I can give you is pick a REGION of the country & focus on that each visit. You saw how ridiculously large our country is in your last video. So, unless you plan to fly around (and not drive) to see different states, your best bet it to stay in a specific region. NE, SE, NW, SW, or MidWest. My recommendation is the SE. If you have questions feel free to respond to this comment & we can chat about it. You seem like a good hearted genuine guy which got a sub from me today. 💜

If you can get Roquefort or Blue Cheese in your area, Blue Cheese dressing is not at all hard to make at home. It's 1:1 sour cream:mayonnaise, blue cheese, a little bit of vinegar or lemon, milk or buttermilk to thin it out, and some spices (parsley, black pepper, garlic powder). Done.

There are different BBQ's in every state. Almost in different cities. Virginia for instance puts the cole slaw on the sandwich but it makes the bun soggy so I ask forr it on the side.

Regardless of the place you choose to visit in the future, the cities and suburbs will have every type of food choice available that you can imagine wanting to try. You don’t need to visit the south to get delicious southern BBQ meal (or Chicago for a deep dish pizza or Philly for a cheesesteak sandwich). You just have to pick which type of food you’re hungry for on that particular day (tough work, lol) The streets are lined on both sides with fast food to fine dining choices. Food trucks are great for sampling several different types of food too. We may not have the ice cream man driving around anymore but we do have traveling varieties of cuisines, making stops in the neighborhoods or local parking lots. So much food, so many choices, so satisfying when you find your favorites. I believe that everyone loves low and slow, smoked bbq beef and pork, unless you’re a herbivore 😉 When I’m in the mood for lots of meat, I go our local Mongolian BBQ/Steak House. They literally bring out the full brisket or tenderloin or lamb or pork on a large skewer and slice it into your plate. 5 minutes later a different cut of meat is being offered from a different skewer. All you can eat meat and a side dish for the table, bread and drink for about 35-40.00 per person. Sounds expensive but it’s what you would pay at a place like Ruth’s Chris just for a 9 oz tenderloin filet with additional costs being applied for each side dish, drink and dessert. I’m sure that I put down (most of) 4 different cuts of meat that day, all perfectly cooked and tender. Everyone should try it at least once. 😊

Piece of advice Georgians especially take great pride in their pecan pie and sweet tea, I know your not into sweets but give it a try. I once offended a lady in Georgia by turning down a slice of her pecan pie after breakfast, I just never thought of pie for breakfast, lol.

Anywhere down south for good 'Ol southern fried cooking, Philadelphia is the ONLY place to get a REAL Philly Cheesesteaks. New York for Pizza - those are musts, then every place has something -Chicago Style Pizza is great, New Orleans, Texas, Kansas - all have great food. I would start with the 1st three I mentioned (Personal Favorites of mine).

Funny thing, it's Noah's birthday in the vid and they go out drinking with him later. Then they do another insane mukbang-like video after midnight at a Waffle House franchise, basically on the same day. My stomach wouldn't put up with that anymore. And fyi, there is no shame in taking a doggie bag home -- nobody even bothers pretending it's for their dog anymore. Often servers will preemptively ask if you'd like a box. The portions in the US are pretty large, so taking food home is pretty much expected. Waste not, want not. There are people starving in the world, don't waste food. You paid for it, might as well enjoy it in your own time. Etc, platitude, etc.

You aren't weak. You had a negative experience with him once, so you have a certain feeling about him. You have a right to your first impression of him. This guy worked with him, and apparently there are a lot of people like Gordon in his industry, so he's had lots of experience navigating around people like him. Just a different perspective.
