I still remember this tournament this game was very much in our hand then shewag hit chaminda out of ground for six and raining started 😢 our all middle batters and even bowlers was batting good in those days but rain didn't make it happen..

this shouldn't even be a question. Ganguly picked up indian cricket team from ashes and built one of the best team in the world. Majority of players who hoisted 2011 world cup were given debut by ganguly. Bhajji, Zak, Yuvi, Dhoni, Nehra, Gambhir, Sehwag and the list goes on. He had the unique ability of spotting talents and backed them throughout his captaincy. Dada will forever be seen as the pioneer of modern era in indian cricket

This is one non-sense all Ganguly fan say, that he built team from ashes. Sachin, Dravid, Srinath, Kumble, Laxman and Ganguly were all groomed by Azhar, whom Ganguly utilized for success of team. Any captain will have mix and match of old talentrf players and newly harvested ones

@@sridharb2900 you dont need to be a ganguly fan to see the improvement after dada took over the captaincy from azhar. The team was in tatters after the fixing saga, could never even fight properly let alone dominate in foreign lands. so the team was literally in ashes. after dada's captaincy, there was marked difference in the approach from the team. you can label me anything but in early 2000s, i have seen the whole indian cricket team change in front of my own eyes. ganguly would give up his opening slot to sehwag just because he believed in him. i could go on and on about dada's contribution but i dont want to waste any more of my energy in educating you.

For Me He Is The Best Captain Of Team India. He Is The One Who Taught Us The Meaning Of Aggression in Cricket. We Love You Dada " The God Of Offside."🇮🇳🇮🇳

Virat, MSD situation was quite easy compared to Ganguly.. When Ganguly became captain Indian cricket were destroyed with rampat corruption and match fixing scandal.. The ICC position of India was no 8 lower than other teams and 5-6 indian players were involed in fixing.. Indian cricket was in verge of collapse.. Entire country/media was after blood of cricketer when this scandle broke out.. From there he took the team to no 2 position of ICC ranking.. First time india reached in ICC champons trophy final in 2000 and in 2002 he finally won Champion trophy.. He also took india to 2003 wc final, first time after 20 years after 1983.. Sachin, Kumble, Srinath played 3 wc before 2003 wc but went to wc final first time under Ganguly.. Also before Ganguly became captain, Azhar and Sachin who were captain not able to win a single overseas test match for last 10-12 years .. India were facing 4-0 whitewash series lost in australia under Sachin, and whitewash in England, SA, New Zealand and Zimbabwae under Azhar.. Such was pathetic condition of India.. And then everuthing changed after he became captain..
