The most underrated English player ever. Still, to this day.

souness 100% correct .
I see him play quite a bit against West Ham he scored a free, West Ham fans always chanted his big nose everyone shut up and clapped his goal he was the best player I’ve ever seen. His goals were like nothing anyone else could do .

Agreed. I was there (many times). Especially one particular end of season match at home to the Saints at Upton Park. Pure Class.
Fantastic player who did things his way, and still does.
Shows the love and great respect for Tiss, if Souness throws plaudits like that around.
A class footballer and a class human being!

The guy was a footballing genius and a legend..the fact he didn't win trophies doesn't take away from his talent. And the fact he is a truth seeker and Anti Vaxxer makes him 💯 % legendary status.

If was common for great players to play in mediocre teams back in the 90s. Just look at Ginola, Klinsmann, Juninho etc.

Sounness was a god.matt never worked hard enough.he could have 4×his wages but he never done it consistently like keane, cantona or giggs but he probably had more individual talent.
Souness did manage some quality players, like Ali Dia
Google his best goals… fkn unreal!
MATTs FANTASTIC ✌️✌️✌️
watch his `101 great goal video
Like many others he wouldnt make it in today's game due to bad training and sports science, he had natural talent like a few others of his time but that was when playing came first, some trained as little as possible and could eat what they wanted, drank, smoked, went out the night before games a d their name was first on the team sheet. Nowadays no club would touch them because they couldnt get away with it because you need to be a 24hr 365 day athlete.
Never forget people what matt did for saints...hoddle joke.same now with jwp..southgate joke

Stuart Pierce should have asked Matt for advice on how to take a penalty.

It was more so that he stayed at Southampton his entire career and rejected all offers from big clubs, that's the main reason why he's not remembered in the same light as other legends of that time, if he went to a big club he'd probably be remembered as one of the greatest strikers in history, even if his work ethic wasn't as high as some other players
Thats y he dropped u matt mc Donald's probably
Like Steve bull ,he should have gone to a bigger club

Great player but better source of stupid comments. God bless him!!
I have to keep the same energy as I do with Wilfred Zaha I'm afraid. It's all well and good when you're at a mid-table team with not much expectations but playing in a system takes too much away from what makes them good. Ball at their feet for nearly every attack
