Sound Symposer Delete - Before and After Clips! Is there a difference? BOV changes?

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Comparing the sound of the Focus ST before and after the Sound Symposer Delete Kit + my thoughts on the BOV after the install.
There is definitely a difference in the sound of the car with the delete kit (although its kind of difficult to pick up on the GoPro audio). The volume of the engine + exhaust is the same, however the frequency of the sound is slightly different. When the sound symposer is activated (which comes on around 3,000 rpms) it injects "extra" sound via a tube from the intake box through the firewall and into the cabin. This sound is very prevalent in a stock Focus ST and super noticeable (I definitely liked it when I first purchased the car and thought it was cool.)
Once you add an exhaust to the car it becomes more difficult to hear this extra sound from the sound symposer - which is why many Focus ST owners advise to delete it (and for the option of running a true vacuum.) One thing I really like about the delete kit is the elimination of the mixture of frequencies between the intake sound and the exhaust sound making the car sound more "raw" or "real".
The BOV does slightly change with the delete kit installed (as mentioned in the video) but does not take away from the pure loudness of the BOV (I'm running the Turbosmart 50/50 Dualport). All I have noticed is that the BOV goes off a bit less when under no boost and driving very slow which was caused by very small shifts in my foot on the gas pedal before. I like that the delete kit has caused this and in my opinion this in of itself is wort the $25 or $30 for the kit.
The website I used to purchase the Sound Symposer Delete kit seems to be out of stock and cannot find the link - so here are some other options (that are identical to the one I purchased):

Wow there really is a difference. Although the sounds pumped in before were real, it sounded a bit fake or extra because it was exaggerated. After the install, the car sounds more mature and natural which is always great. Thanks for the great install video and the comparison video!!

Nice video. If you buy the symposer delete plate with a boost reference valve connect the bov hose to the delete plate valve it will help on the bov opening and throwing the little boost on low rpms it will improve pedal response. I have a boomba bov and that one opens with minimal boost it definitely help with sound and pedal response on city.

Yes! It’s super nice not having the bov going off with the slightest bit of throttle.

Wouldn't the bov having trouble going off now mean you possibly created a boost leak compared to when the symposer was on? The better sealed the system will build boost faster meaning it will release it faster, if it's not going off as fast I'd think there's now a leak causing it not to build boost as fast as before..?

Is there any advantage to doing this over doing it with a tune? I just got my stratified tune and could select to turn off the sound symposier without having to remove it. No extra sound in the cabin now. 2013 FoST

I don't believe so. I didn't realize that was an option to do it that way lol. Pretty cool and way easier.

i just did my delete for a total of 5.37$ home depot while abs plastic end parts,, 1 3/8 inch , 34 mm bring a caliper or tape measure to find one,, easy to do.. and one 1 inch abs white plug,,, the 1 3/8 goes into the hose that the symposer went into and clamp that off.. the 1 inch plug goes into the flexable hose that goes into the fire wall,,, just clip a 4 inch section of that hoe.. tap the 1 inch plug into the hose, and stuff the rest into the fitting on the firewall.....works great, very quite now in my 2014 2.0 fusion
