Most of these "setups" are.. Like Who is gonna just stand after they get comboed? No tech traps what so ever. Wall "setups" can just be Blocked.

@@Osagri most of these are setups into possible frame traps if they want to disrespect you on their wakeup or keeping the opponent scared enough to just block for you to get an unblockable after they just got comboed

That was some nice examples of different setups you can use.

Very good video. Has some great ideas in it.

- no air control - no ground recovery = 10 minutes of useless stuff

Not necessarily. Not everyone can tech 100% of the time, a couple of the air - ground - air - grab combos are 100% guaranteed. A lot of these are effective set-ups that should not be dismissed as easily as you've dismissed them. Some of them may not be as good as others, but the entire video? Nah, there's some good stuff in here.

@@NuptupYes, necessarily. Sorting out 2 or 3 useful combos or setups out of hundreds of junk is necessarily useless. If testing every single combo/setup in this video is what you like, then go ahead, but for everyone else it's just a waste of time

And I'm telling you that there are far more than 2 or 3 useful combos and set ups here. In fact a large portion of this is usable in a live environment. I have personally tested everything that's not in the wall combo section, and all of it works IF SET UP CORRECTLY. Can you give examples of which ones wouldn't work? Keeping in mind this is a combo AND set up video?

Is the combo at 05:02 guaranteed or can the opponent land beforehand?

If anybody thinks Astaroth is a combo based character they clearly missed out on the idea of a grappler character. This stuff is excellent.

Thanks for this. I haven't found many people playing this character. I'm having a hard time when it comes to up close combat. Most people just seem to rush this character as hard as they can and he doesn't have many fast moves.

4A and 4K put that work in when they get too close. Alternatively use bullrush.

Video is not bad at all,most are not real Combos just set ups,you can see that since the overall damage tells you that,if you will set the dummy opponent to guard after 1st hit and have recovery and air control for the Dummy,you can Find out what the Real combos would be,Asta is nerfed in normal mode just like Cervantes but with Soul charge he gets back some nice things.

Nice recovery setup combos but on recovery those could go 50/50 still

Does the 3A+G ground pick up offer Asteroth any kind of frame advantage?

No. It does not. It puts you back in the neutral game, but what I do is hit them before they get up instead of picking them up. It might be a set up for critical edge, but I can't say for sure.

I'm pretty sure that several of those aren't really combos and can be avoided.

I've been trying to reproduce some of those, but for some reason my 2 B+K (the stomp) never puts the guy back up in the air, am I missing something here ?

What I found out is that 2B+K • A+G is the input. It's like B • B, if you don't input it close enough to each other, then it won't pop them up for the throw.

I thank you for this but I have issues with ppl that get in on me and spam moves that r so fast I can't get a hit in or am too slow most of Astaroth's moves have build up even his fastest moves get beat by Taki/Talim/Maxi and fukin voldo. If I can keep Tham at a distance it's no problem but I need to work on my close combat more... These combos r a great foundation for me to figure this character out. Again thank you.

I have the same issue against rush down characters. Here is a few things I do for these type of situations. Hope they will help you. 12 + K~B After A GI = so if your timing is good with GI you can follow it up with his hellsweep into a high horizontal spin move. Allot of people fall for this because they just dont see the hellsweep coming and the 2nd part is a natural combo. 66 + AG = This grab has some super armor properties, so If your opponent is pressuring you with non stop attackers, you can use this move. You can also hold down during the move for a grab mix up if they crouch. 2 + K = His standing down kick is actually pretty fast and a good poke to get your opponent of you. 214 + AB (Just Frame) After GI = So this one is tricky but if your good with his just frame moves you can GI your opponent and use this grab. The just frame is very fast and most of the time will connect unless your opponent GI you.

Thanks I doubt I'll b able to do any of those combos' but this helps me out a ton thank you! I have issues with training mode lol I don't know how to properly train I can pick up a few combos here and there but when it's against someone else those moves/combos go out the window lmao I wanna get gud cuz I love me some Astaroth.

This is getting on my damn nerves, im doing the 2k b-6b 2 b+k and it isn't knocking them into the air for the grab, how the fuck does that work?? It doesn't say and i can't find it anywhere.

1st is literally in movelist as normal move. 2nd is not combo. not gonnna bother going further

7:00 how do you get him to do that move. i cant seem to do it

Online I can see these working but in competitive play these will never work and if you get one it's by shear luck.

people get spooked, honestly I can see alot of these working in comp if they recover the wrong way, maybe not the unblockable attack setups but def the kick resets

Every time the health bar resets the Red the combo is over dude 🤷🏻‍♂️ just keep that in mind. Still some good stuff here.

those are called setups, which funnily enough are more useful to astaroth than any combo could be considering he is a *GRAPPLER* character, just something to think about
