I’ve said for years and years and years - trading is extremely risky, and most people will lose all the money they try to trade with - even the people who follow the information I provide. Trading is a skillset that is difficult to learn, and I make it look easy because I’ve been trading for 7+ years. As with any high performing skillset in life, trading is NOT easy.
Your likelihood of consistently making money trading is abysmally low, whether you learn on your own or whether you follow the things that myself or others teach.
It’s like becoming a doctor, many people start pre-med and medical school, but only a tiny fraction of them succeed and actually become doctors. The average success rate of trading is even worse that that! Becoming a doctor is obviously not for everyone, and becoming a trader is obviously not for everyone, too.

Nick you are literally my forex saviour. You don’t know how much time and energy I wasted learning and trying to master stupid SMC/ICT concepts. I was literally losing sleep and not eating from trying to learn that shit over and over again because it just wasn’t working for me live and backtest. I was literally at my breaking point because I spent 6 months of my life learning trading from scratch just to feel like I hit a dead end brick wall. Untill I found you. Trading is gambling. There is no silver bullet strategy, Just keep it stupid simple and manage risk. Your wise words. Hearing all that just lifted the heavy weight off my shoulders so I studied your support and resistance strategy and that’s shit literally took me less than a day to catch on to it and I backtested it and I kid you not. Every single time it fucking worked. You don’t understand the level of enlightenment you gave me nick. I fucking love you man. I spent every hour of my day binge watching supply and demand, order blocks fair value gap blah blah blah bullshit starving myself because all I wanted to do was to just make it all click for me. It just wouldn’t. You made it click for me and I’ll never ever forget you nick. I fucking love you man. No homo here are your flowers🌹🌹🌹🌹❤️💯

What’s interesting to me is that I found I was able to find an edge with the SMC ideas & setups, but I found I was sweating it too much, and if I just relax and fall back to these simple risk management concepts, then I tend to trade a lot better. Having a real edge is possible, but it works best in conjunction with Nick’s overall approach to trading.

People like to seek out some sort secret indicator or convoluted strategy when in reality things don't have to be so complicated. Now, everybody being able to successfully trade is another story; risk management, bad execution of the strategy and trading without emotion is where most people screw up. Thanks Nick, Crystal clear explanation of your strategy. Biggest issue I have is knowing how far to set the invalidation price above or below the support resistance zones. I try and keep it tight to maximise return on my risk but sometimes get too greedy and get hedged only to see a good trade play out. Some good info on your approach to setting invalidation zones in this video.

  • @markux1983

I would say the answer is risk management. If you’re comfortable with losing a given amount, you should be fine. The problem comes when we get too greedy and focus on the possible winnings but forget about the also possible losses. As long as you’re fine with losing certain amount, it will mean you’re applying proper risk management. In Nick’s example it will mean summing up all the hedged losses and if these aren’t greater than what you’re willing to risk, again you should be fine with the trade.

Question: What do you do if you buy at Support zone, and it went to Resistance zone but you missed it because you were busy/or asleep? I'm in Australia and a lot of price movement tends to happen when I'm asleep. LOL. Do you set the Sell and Buy (hedge) before it gets to that zone? Or what if you for some reason forgot to set it and the price hits Resistance and comes back down half way. Do you then wait for it to either come back down to Support zone or go back up to Resistance zone again? Thanks.

I had a trade that I ended up hedging, and this morning, sold the longs for profit, went short (i.e added to the negative already short position) (DCA), and then watched as the market went down. I got out at BE, and shortly there after the market moved back up. So the question is, do you move your Pending hedges (in this case buys - longs) down, just in case the mkt doesn't get to BE? Love your work!

I got out of FX because of Dodd Frank and FIFO and switched to Futures, using options to flatten out my deltas (hedge). For regulated brokers in FX, I tried using correlated pairs and taking the opposite side or uncorrelated pairs and trading the same direction, It worked to a point. So how are you getting around FIFO and Dodd Frank are you using sketch off shore brokers?. Anyhow you speak my language to a tee... keep it up bro!

  • @DonnyS.

    @DonnyS.

    11 ай бұрын

I'm using Oanda and their fxTrade platform (based on trading view) and they let you use nano lots. If you make each entry a slightly different amount you can legally get around FIFO rules. For example your first entry is 1 lot. The next entry on the same pair could be 1.00001 lots. Third entry 1.00002 lots and so on. This lets you close any trade on the same pair in any order, set take profits and stop losses on any and all entries on the same pair. HOWEVER, I've yet to try using nano lot differences to hedge. Just keep forgetting to try it lol. I've only used it so far for cost averaging while countertrend mean reversion trading when I get caught in run away trends. I'm in Arizona so I feel your regulated fx broker pain.

Hey Nick, I’ve been watching you for a couple years and your content is simplistically amazing! I do have a question about this hedging strategy, with controlled risk management and S/R levels, is a SL applicable in this strat? I know it wouldn’t be smart because with the amount of drawdown that comes behind it

It was covered a few videos back. It works, but i did notice he added another risk unit after a loser. So 2nd loser he adds another risk. 100$ 200$ 300$ etc

hallo my friend. And what is the difference of this system with one that you put your stop loss above the zone and enter a long above the zone etc?

I'm testing, Nick. I love your system. I do find my own little hiccups to overcome, but still try to find something from you to resolve it. For now I'm trying to figure out my SL. I don't use hedging at the moment but am considering it. I can see clearly why you like it. It's a bit challenging to do while working full-time. Maybe you can give some advice on how to deal with that, if you wouldn't mind. Other than that I really enjoy every video. Great content and I also follow your Telegram. Great stuff!

I'm in a similar boat with a full-time job. SL are much less time consuming than hedging, but almost every time so far I've been hedged I can roll out of it. Granted it takes days, weeks to roll out of, but overall I think it's a good way to go. Always learning 😅

@@DHalesmusic Thanks for the reply. If I may ask, do you trade daily, 4hr or 1hr chart, or combination? At the moment I'm also doing the free FTMO trial trading the 4hr chart. Challenging but getting fair results so far. Always like to implement something that I learn from other traders.

Could you make the same explanation, but using the calculator to follow the progress of the capital? That way it would be better understood how to use hedging in case you are wrong 2 or 3 times in a row.

Ive been trying to work out if there is a way to use this strategy on a funded account... There has to be. I understand that you need margin but how about if you say had a £200k fundec account but based your figures snd traded it as though its only a £50k account....? Would that sort of approach work?

Super video... however... you can't hedge in the US can you? If you are short 1 lot and price goes against you, you can't open a 1 lot long. The long will cancel the short out and you'll lose the trade. What options are available for US traders with the system of trading if hedging isn't allowed? I watched your video on adding to positions in order to average up or down and "eventually" the trade comes back...and risk management and position sizing will help allow for that. Is there a way around the US block of hedged positions?

i was so happy today Nick. I was up $1800.. but later on I set a re-hedge order that for my surprise when i returned to my computer it didn' go throuhg cause I didn't have enoguh margin to buy :( big time lose. Finished up the day $1500 down.... Margin is crucial to do this.
