Finally Cantonese instead of Mandarin, relatable short, family runs Chinese restaurant also, luckily still paying bills but with covid things can turn on a dime.

Finally a short that doesn't have awkward cantonese! love it. so touching and realist that doesn't all have fairy tale endings - its just a continuous way of life for a regular family.

Thank you to Jane and the crew for creating such a beautiful story. I saw many similar snippets of what my family also went - and is still going through during the pandemic and there were times where I felt that I was just watching us. The same conversations, the phone handoffs, the same "it's okay, I can wait" that my siblings and I have said ourselves while we help out while all simultaneously going through school and living our own lives; it feels so validating and quite comforting to know that we're not the only ones going through these kinds of situations. Also Caitlyn looked absolutely adorable with the beard ahaha

Yes, we all had to make sacrifices for our family. She's a good daughter for thinking about her parents needs before hers.

What a beautifully written and thoughtful film! I love how you incorporated Shakespear because to me, it represents being in between. Being an Asian-American. It seems like we are always navigating between the two cultures. I love how you were able to portray that through the main character. Everyone did an amazing job!

I think it's important to point out that these films are great, HOWEVER, they are NOT accessible. I've come to find over the years with a eye condition that these films are increasingly harder to see, especially in scenes where a camera is being used to film a screen like on a phone. It really kills the enjoyment and frustrates me to watch these videos without audio descriptions or at least a transcripted version to follow with a screen reader or to read on the side in large text. Please do better wongfu. People with vision disabilities exist, matter, and want to watch your content.

Before I unsubscribe, I’d like to say, good work Empowering Asian people. But the content is so weak. Why do you always play upon outdated turn of the century Asian immigrant stereotypes and emotions? Check out your views and really reflect on why you do not have any more subscribers than you did a couple months ago… outdated, not relatable, boring af…
