ZV-1 Live Streaming built in is SWEET! Love the new firmware that came out like 6 months ago that added the feature.
Thank you. Initially I was was quite indecisive over ZV-1 or ZV-E10. But after watching your video, I am going for ZV-1 mainly for content creation purposes.
Regarding the M50 mkII: while the future of EF-M lenses is unknown, EF-M to EF adapter is only like $100. So if you’re interested in the Canon ecosystem - or are already invested in the Canon ecosystem for photography purposes but want a small, light camera for content creation purposes, the M50 is a pretty good deal. And yes, of course, I’m a Canon shooter. 😂

@SummitCoyote wrong - you can still buy 8 EF-M lenses brand new and then of course many EF lenses both new and second hand. Sony lenses are expensive compared to EF-M or EF. I love my M50 mk II - I have 7 EF-M lenses and 4 EF lenses, covered for everything in a tiny package with an awesome AF system
Love my ZV-1, also love the price point of the Canon, incredible deal. So glad we have options of this quality under 800, will be even better when FF starts to match this price.
Great video - Just ordered my ZV-1 as for me it is all about portability. I have an A73 as my main camera and want something I can just pop in my pocket when out and about. I get that interchangeable lenses will attract a lot of folk, but as soon as you put some decent glass on the other Sony or Cannon then you are into carrying a bag...
I completely agree with who would want each camera. The canon is good if you are already invested in the Canon ecosystem and want an extra camera. The ZV-E10 is for those who plan to move up or want that extra b-roll camera with their current e-mount lenses. The ZV-1 is for those mor mobile creators that their mobility is more a necessity than the ability to change lenses. I would probably go with ZV-1 cause I have an a6400 which is pretty close to the ZV-E10 so I wouldn’t gain much but the ZV-1 would allow me to have a camera when I just want a small crossbody or just what is in my pockets
I have the Sony zv1 and just love the pocketability of it. It is a great second camera.
I love the M50's so much, I have 2. One for gimbal work, and one as a backup rig for my EOS RP. Love them for there versatility, and how light they are paired to ef mount lenses.

Loved this thorough break down. Only video i found that could actually help me decide on which camera for content. Thank you ❤️
Happy to hear you tried out bouldering, hope you grow to enjoy it.
He slightly mentioned it at the end... there were really 2-main draws for choosing the ZV-1. 1) I mainly shoot Canon, which means to get something like the ZV-10 would mean an entirely new 'system' of lenses. So, I actually like having the permanent lens because I like having the IBIS/ND filter and its pretty good Zeiss-quality. Why not the M50/M6(more likely choice)? 2) Being able to pocket it really does fit a need. I love being able to have a camera always with me, and the ZV-1 perfectly fits this role better than any other camera. It also comes with a pretty good mic; so good that I don't ever bring any other audio. There is some heavy lens distortion at the wide end however! You do miss having a viewfinder and the touchscreen is very very limited (this will make sense for anyone with a Canon, where you can touch and change anything). It's just a nice all-around camera that you can put in your pocket... similar quality to the RX100, without the crazy price. Nice especially for someone like myself, who doesn't want to add another lens system.
Hi Jared, love your video. Just to mention, ZV1 video also OVERSAMPLED from 6K just like ZVe10. For video it is superb to shoot whenever you want with this pocketable camera. It pushes me to shoot more often than interchangeable lens camera. Using it for a year and still loving it.

@@yassersaeed2010 I haven't done the math, but ZV-1 has very little crop (if not using image stabilization), so I'm sure one can calculate how much the 4K is based but it is definitely not just a 4K subset of the sensor, as 4K is roughly 8.3MP, and this is a 20MP sensor.

Hey fro keep the videos coming I've learned a lot from you and I wanted to throw you a grateful thank you!
So Fro, recently I had 2 cameras stolen, bummer. so after comparing a few cameras including the three you just reviewed. your video was very helpful. In the end I chose mostly for this reason, i was left with several canon and Nikon lenses, unfortunately my best was on the ripped gear. I found a great deal on the Zv1. and I I don’t ever need a as new lens.
Thank you for this video! I was debating between the Canon and the ZV-E10 for my KZread videos; I'm starting to record my Voice Over Acting journey and the ZV-E10 looks like the better choice for me. Thank you again and have a great day!
You missed to mention that the Live Streaming is only at 720p. I am part time content creator and still confused either to buy zv-e10 or wait for zv-e11 or e20 with better stabilization or IBIS for outdoor shoots as it’s perfect for indoor work of product showcase and talking head.
Something worth considering with the ZV-E10… when you really do the math when it comes to the aperture for depth of field purposes, the kit lens is gonna end up giving you 5.25 to 8.4 as far as a 35mm equivalent is concerned. The ZV-1 is giving you 4.86 to 7.56. So out of the box, things are quite close, with a few more bells and whistles in favor of the ZV-1 depending on what you really need. The ZV-E10 may be the better value, but that’s only if you’re actually going to buy more lenses unless that slight bump in dynamic range really matters to you. That’s pretty relevant, because most people that purchase cameras like this never actually move past the kit lens.

Zve10 doesn't have EVF which is big negative.
In my opinion, if I’m doing some walking and talking self filming of sorts, an action camera is the only way, they are wide and stabilized so you don’t have to look at the screen. The audio is usually not too bad, the colors are good enough. They aren’t very intrusive on your day to day to bring with you and use. You just hit record and you are good to go. The second best is a cell phone.

If they put in a fast stacked 10 mp sensor for better low light and reduced rolling shutter then the zv-e10 would be THE camera. As it is they just took the old a6300 sensor and put it in a new body/processing chip, it explains why it's a similar price to the zv-1, but it's more of an expensive (when you take into account the lens you need) side grade than an up grade. Messing up the auto focus is ridiculous, it's arguably Sony's biggest selling feature, stabilisation on a camera this size is meh
@raptorcitos

@@I.am.Bananaman there is an app that fix the rolling shutter with a little crop. So if you don't care the cropping it's a good alternative. The problem is you need to edit the video with the app to fix it and ends with crop so who knows if this better. I think it's important to know about it nobody talks about the app at least it's an alternative.
Can’t believe Jared keeps saying vloging is died in this content hungry day and age when large vlogging channels pop up everyday. Vlogs require far less planning and equipment. @SelfMadeMan_ I'm pretty sure he just says vlogging is dead to change the perspective of people. I saw one of his other videos(I think the zv-e10 video?) where he mentioned that he thinks that it'd be better referred to as a "content creator" camera than a "vlogging" camera. To me it felt like he wants to push that thinking to say that vloggers aren't "just vloggers" but they're content creators. That thinking could then breed better tech since it's somewhat of a better perspective(i think.) I don't disagree with you, just wanted to point it out cause I literally just watched the other video yesterday lol

Well I’ve always been a Canon user, and with Sony ZV-e10 camera and it features for vlogging has my wanting to buy it. My analog Canon gear was stolen ages ago and felt having a camera had no more use in my life. Now everything in life in this century has been disrupted with emerging new possibilities along with technology has altered that perception of what’s reality now could be. So I was hoping for some clarity. What I came away with is more knowledge about these cameras, but you leave that cloud of doubt by what you could not say definitively regarding a new Canon camera to replace the one shown. Which might possibly compete head on with this EV-10. Could I, should I wait to see if one is on the horizon in the near future for Canon’s camera lineup in this area. Since I’m partial to the brand.
M50II for me. I sold my 5DMk3 but retained my M50II which will soon become a backup for my R series. M50II is versatile if you do both still & video. I use vitrox speed booster with EF lens which allows me to use M50II like a full frame. I also use vitrox adaptor if I need a telephoto (using just one lens on both). The Zve10 also has interchangeable lenses so its more "future-proof". Different lenses can also give you different looks with filters and such. (There are third party filters for sony zv1 though.) So does the Sony ZV-E10 able to record directly to social media platforms or how does that work on that camera? I noticed it was the only one that had that feature.
A very good review for cameras 📷 for the amateur.
Would like to see a vid comparing the Canon M50 Mark II HD & 4k video quality vs Sony's ZV-E10. Asking since there are differences between 8-bit and 10-bit video.

Aren’t they all 8 bit?
Very nice review
Great video!!
Do you think we’ll be seeing a zv-2 in the near future? I’m stuck on rumors saying there will be one soon and I JUST bought the zv-1 but am tempted to return it and wait for a new one…
Love the videos. But can you please give a review on the fujifilm sx10. I was debating on the Sony ZV-E10 or the fujifilm sx10. Thank you for your reviews they are very helpful

Hi Jared what was the name of the mike you were using for this video again please?
I love the M50, I boosted the playback speed up after seeing this, he already talks fast, but amazingly it is still super clear and understandable haha
For someone who hasn't owned a camera and exploring what to do with it (vlogging, traveling, product shots, walking tours), which one would you recommend? Edit: I actually bought my first camera 5 years ago, the Sony a6000 but returned it because I needed the money more at the time. I was intimidated by the idea of buying lenses and realized I was buying what I could not really afford. Now, I'm thinking of buying to possibly make money from it. Any tips from pros how to get small photo jobs?

Which camera you bought?
I f_ing love your hair !! 😍
Hello Jared is there any older cameras{secondhand market} that are better than these 3 Vlogging cameras, that have everything they have, but are full frame, lens interchangable,4 k video, and the other stuff i dont know about?
Thank you . A very helpful video
Would the M6 mark ii be a better comparison? I feel like it’s more of a direct competitor to the ZV-e10
