Nearly three years on, I still have my XZ2 Premium and G/F has the XZ3.. Brilliant phones and have still stood time. Hers every so often will struggle RAM wise, but mine has the extra 2Gb and storms practically everything still. Will take the RAM over OLED any day.!

Almost same specs, i love the xz3 Oled display, but i will choose XZ2 Premium over it. I don't know why but I get attracted with bulky, heavy weight phones just as my XZ Premium now.

Great comparison, thanks! An important advantage of LCD screens over OLED is that they don't flicker. The XZ3 looks nicer but the xz2 premium has LCD. Just wondering why there are no more phones that can lay flat on a table without wobbling. When they're on a QI charger and the phone receives messages or calls while charging, will the phone slip off the charging pad because of the vibration alerts?

Xz2 premium would be my next phone 😃 I have the xz premium and I love it so much!

Yug not likely. Premiums usually come once every year or 2. 2 bumbers come a year though. Z3 and Z4 were same year I think. Z5Premium, Z5 came then. a year later XZ, Xperformance etc came, XZ Premium came the next year I believe. A year later XZ2 Premium. No way we'll see XZ3 Premium unless sony finally stops making 100 phones a year and let a phone breath it's life

XZ3 Premium will combine the strengths of XZ3 and XZ2 Premium. Might be a 4K HDR UHD+ 18:9 OLED screen at 6.2", SD855, 6GB/128GB memory configuration, either the 19+12MP Dual Camera or the new 48MP Quad Bayer Single Camera, 13MP f/1.9 front camera, 3500-4000mAh battery, maybe in-display fps too.

Probably rushed out the XZ2 and Premium while they were finishing up the XZ3 screens. Hoping for 16:9 ratio as well. Also to not the xz and xz2 got a premium so it'll come and I bet Jan. Or Feb.

Finally Sony it was so much difficult to understand the market year after year take a lot time but now I feel completely surprise like the old day's of gold it's completely brilliant this smartphone you hit on the spot again. I was a huge fan of you in the past Sony but for this that I see it's amazing phone again probably I will buy Sony again.

If the premium XZ3 retains the 16:9 screen in OLED it could be the last and most up to date 16:9 phone made. I just can't go back to a dim LCD screen. I vaguely remember how bad daylight viewing was and I'm not willing to go back.

I waiting for compact version, coz I love the flagship with small design like almost all sony devices I still use my XZ1 Compact, and I hope XZ3 have Compact version, then I upgrade my Device

I'm Torn between the two. I Love both.I think I'll end up with the XZ2P, as it's a huge upgrade over my Z5P

I'm thinking exactly the same thing. My Z5P is lagging something rotten as internal mem is almost full. I do like the z3 but, that price tag!

Sony alway pull me back in when I'm just about to leave them. Had z1 and didn't like the z2 but just as I was looking for a new phone the brought out the Z3 and then the same with the xz premium. I was disappointed with how big and bulcky the xz2p is so was looking around for a new phone and then Sony pull this beauty out the bag

What do you think of the Xperia 1? Yes it has the fingerprint sensor on the side and the cameras should be rather good, but I don't like the 21:9 screen.

Is the green really as good looking, I'm in market for either one these, I'm set on one of them,also want to point out xz3 taiwanese model at 6gb ram

Can you have the time always on screen when phone locked like the old Nokias, the Samsungs and now Huawei?

It's indeed a hard choice, or would be if they had about the same price. Around here the xz2 premium is about three hundred euros cheaper so that makes the choice a lot easier.

But I was waiting for a ultra version with xz3 specs and xz2p camera... 😊

Never been so disappointed, really interested with it's front facing speakers and then I hear no headphone jack, ffs time to go hunt for another more modern axon 7 cuz the axon 9 literally ditched everything that made the 7 good

I wish the xz2 premium wasn't that wide. I do very like xz3 although its camera, like any xperia, only shines at daylight scenes and still stands its ground against the top phone cameras not counting multilense phones. Speaking of multilens, xz2p is among the top day or night. At least the xperia 1 looks like a compromise between these two.

Still have the z5 premium. Can't leave the design of this phone. I got the chrome one and I think it's just to butiful to buy another phone 😂

Same here, had mine since May 2016, love it when I take it out the case and have a good look at it but it is about time for an upgrade, the battery isn't what it used to be and it is starting to act strange on occasions. I would love the OLED display but I think I will go for the XZ2 P.

I guess everything boils down to the prize, i guess i am let down with ROM option, i expected at least 128GB

I wish 1+8 design were Xperia XZ4 design (upgraded from XZ3) as same as S9+ to S10+

He used XZ Premium instead of "XZ2 Premium" in the first half of the video for the comparison but the XZ2P is a "power-house" & you wouldn't regret it if you choose to buy it.

The two is very cool, I got XZ2 Premium, no regret it better than I expected. I would change only for an XZ3 Premium if it come with 4k and dual camera 48mp ^^

same here, xz2 premium i think, IPS LCD display looks sharper (more natural/realistic) and extra 2gb RAM, dual camera setup and native 4k resolution, cant go wrong with them specs. XZ2 Premium - Power and XZ3 - New features

Because in the USA they can't enable the fingerprint sensor integrated in the power button because of apples patent on the sensor being in the power button/home button

If you are after productivity and power plus greater video/photo experience, then go for the premium cause the word "Premium" already explains it better but if you want what's on trend like oled and curved screen, then you will be OK with Xz3.

I ordered a case that was scheduled to arrive the same day and it was tracked just an hour north of my house, but somehow the delivery time was changed to next week(CANCELLED)! ;-(( Need to move from my XA Ultra to the XZ2 Prem, but I'm not doing anything with this phone until it's in a case. ;-)) Oh yeah... the used phone ($499) was advertised "Good as new" so I took a chance and I can happily say that it does look new and it's a beast.

If you're after power & longevity I'll recommend XZ2p but if you prefer oled screen, then XZ3 is it but I use XZ2P and it's a "machine".

I use "Ringke case" which is very rugged and its available on amazon at a give-away price if you check it out. Its update is prompt, the phone is strong, rugged with 4k screen and there are many things you'll discover as you keep using it. Congrats........... ✌️

Nice looking phone. Front is an S8 plus, rear is a HTC. Good combination, not a criticism. 64gb is fine, it can be expanded, but a 3300mah battery and 4gb ram on a 6" Amoled screen and a heavy skin on the XZ3?? . I see problems of bad battery life and major lag on the horizon. Every year, Sony ALMOST make a good phone but never quite manage it. It's unsurprising that the mobile division never makes any money. Sometimes I wonder why Sony even bother. I imagine they're trying to get the division read to sell to the Chinese, like the VAIO laptop division.

@@ramimxss You are both right and wrong. Yes, more ram means better multi-tasking, but it also means less lag when gaming or running graphics intensive apps. Try running a game like Fortnite with not enough ram. Ram is essential to support the processes and prevent lag. This phone will inevitably lag.

so while not needed yet 4gb could end up being too low for gamers maybe 2 years from now. Fortnite plays fine on android with 4gb of ram.
