I feel kinda the opposite. If anything I think the bezels are too small. I don’t get the obsession with the “bezel-less phone” trend. The bezels shouldn’t be huge but you should be able to hold your phone without touching the screen.

Biased review. A lot of reviewers/KZreadrs keep saying that everything Sony does is "gimmicky" until Samsung and Huawei and other brands imitate the idea, then it becomes "non-gimicky". Just like when Sony started making a water resistant phone way back 2012 if I'm not mistaken (Xperia Z) and the 960fps slow motion feature from the Xperia XZ1. Smh

Yes I noted the same thing. They set a trend and other phones follow but yet Sony is not given the praise it deserves. The life shelf of the Sony beats any other phone. Still have my Z2 (though I currently use the XZ1) and it works perfectly especially the screen and battery

Those top and bottom bezels are small!! What the heck is wrong with people nowadays! How will u even hold an all display phone! And you forgot those side bezels is almost non-existent!! Even narrower than the iPhone X's side bezels!

I like how all these people writing comments saying less bezel is good, don't even have such a phone and have never typed on it, because let me tell you, it is a horrible experience.

The first Sony phone in years that can stand toe-to-toe with the Galaxies and iPhones of the world. Honestly, if I were out to buy a phone now (and had a budget of ~$1000), I might very well pick up the XZ3 over the Note 9 and the iPhone XS. I prefer Sony's software over the formers and have absolutely fallen in love with that seamless, pebble-like design. I probably sound like a fanboy right now, but I'm actually just being open and honest about what I think. Bravo, Sony!

But the biggest problem is the 6 monthly upgrade. Legit xz2 came out 6 months back. And its already shot up by the xz3. Kinda a turn off mood wise when taking the price into consideration. Though the phone looks amazing. Might buy it. Last sony phone i had was the z3+

@@VinayAgarwal7799250939 Then you might very well wait for the XZ4. Even if the XZ5 comes out 6 months after that, you'll still have the phone with Qualcomm's latest SOC for at least one year. If you buy this now, I think your biggest letdown will be the SOC getting outdated in 3-4 months, IMHO. Not the biggest deal but still enough for a tech geek (which I assume that you probably are) to consider.

The Screen to body ratio is 80.5% in XZ3 and 83.5% in the Note 9. Yet some reviews claim that the Sony has chunky bezels and the Note 9 is perfect. 3% difference...

Only place I see them here is on Amazon and B&H. Only place I can see one in hand is if I took the bus to NYC and went to B&H. While I try not buy carrier branded phones, at least I could walk into one of their corporate stores that are local to me so I could check one out before buying. If in the recent past I owned a Sony, it would be different. Only phone I bought unseen where One Plus. Had the original OPO, then a 3t, now a 6.

Hi. Have you had any new updates on the Xperia XZ3 that improves it's cameras (selfie & rear) overall quality & performance as of this 2019? Battery life, WiFi, audio, performance & 4G signal still good?

I just bought a used one today on eBay. It is just a remarkable device

I bought my Xz3 on release and have to say I love it so far. My battery is lasting me roughly 2 days which is a massive upgrade over my last phone-z3 compact. I know in this review you mention it's slippery but let's be honest who buys a £700 phone and doesn't put it in a protective cover? (taking away any slipping) I haven't really explored the camera much yet but seems decent quality. The screen is beautiful and the speakers are LOUD!! I myself actually like the bezels-never understood the obsession with no bezels!-Rather have them than a notch! My only niggle really is a software issue - You can't move the apps to the Sd card which I find very frustrating (especially after buying a 128gb card to put in!) Hopefully this will be fixed at some stage

I would guess so but you also get with the phone a headphone adaptor that plugs in to the usb-c port so you can still use your non-wireless haeadphones

I'm aware I'm replying to a year old comment but not being able to move apps from internal storage to sd card is an Android based thing, can only do that if you have your phone rooted

I haven’t owned a Sony phone since the Xperia Z many years ago, i always swap between Samsung and iPhone, iPhone being my most preferred for some reason, but the XZ3 might be my next investment, I particular want to test the 3D scanning app but the camera features are what most grabs my attention on a phone as I like to take lots of photos and video, this phone just seems to have a lot of great features , think I’ll have to visit carphone warehouse just to have a hands on look and get a feel of The phone before I spend £700 😅 seems to be worth it over the more expensive iPhones

I love Sony phones and been getting them ever since the Sony Ericsson T68i from back in 2002 (remember that one, the plug in camera 😝) . I've only ever had one of their handsets cause me grief and that was the Z3 but apart from that, amazing phones. Only reason I never got this one is coz it was unavailable on my network so I swapped it for an S9+ and happy with my choice. Will no doubt go back to Sony again though for sure. 👌

Interesting phone, and I agree with you, especially in the US, Sony while far from a bad product is expensive and late to the game. Only Sony device I've used was an old flip phone my wife used, and she had it for years. For significantly less money you can have a OP 6 and soon the 6t. If I found one on a fire sale, like the Razor phone which Best Buy was selling for under $200, while I don't expect XZ3 to sell at that kind of discount, I can see Amazon discounting them to a reasonable price. Then I may consider.

Sony 💕 Underrated phone. Sony is known to be an innovative company; a legendary brand. When I was young, my mom used to buy Sony appliances, no wonder - quality and innovation. Long live Sony!

TO be honest Sometimes I getting the feeling all review people meeting up, talking to eachother and saying. "Sony doing a good phone once again, and this time we dont have anything bad to say about it. So should we go about the fingerprint sensor again, and that its slipper?". Another reviewer answer "Sure, mean even though theres nothing wrong with the fingerprintsensor placement what so ever. We wont tell the viewers that if you hold the phone just like normal, it wont be an issue. And to show the issue, we try to put our hand on the device just to show how bad it is placed. Even though its not placed bad, maybe better than on most phones out there." I mean common. Again I whatch a reviewer, that when showing the phone and talking about the sensore bad placing, the hands are not holding the phone like you normally should do. I mean it starting to look so bad. I am almost talking about the Fingerprint-sensor-gate-among-the-reviewers. Because this non issue, is taken up everywhere. And it really IS a non issue. Because evertime you go on, with the phone and holding the phone like you should, the finger is perfectly at the sensor. HOw can it be such an issue, when the finger is on the right spot in the whole darn review, except when you showing it off to be on the wrong place. God, this annoys me so much, that I am thinking about chosing thumbs down to every channel talking about this, so called non-issue-problem. I do agree tough with this slippery-slope problem that the new design create though. But I think Sony was all about making the phone feel good in your hands, so if holding it, makes it sweet, I guess you could handle same slipper-slope problem. lol. So its not all bad. And I wont give thumbs down now... this is just hte first warning. lol. And no, there isnt anything "Chunky" about the phones bezels, because the bezels that should be thin, is thin. THe up and bottom is a little wider just becase of the front-loudspeakers, and sensors within. And to be honest, then its not to chunky, and they arent useless. Especially when you watch movies or playing games, you can hold your fungers there. When it comes to the camera, I sometimes wondering why people seems to think Samsung picture is better. Those two that you showed, my favorit one taken was Sonys. It was a strange yellow tint on the samsungs second picture, and the Sony showed more accurate colours, like usuall. But I guess it might be the video making the Sony look better. :-) And common the Slow mo looks noisy? Not more noisy then the 720 p version from Samsung.... I mean I droped my jaw, no one said that what I can remember, in any review. That Sonys slow mo was so bad.... What I did hear is, that the other things is tought to use than Samsungs though. BUt common. 1080p isnt noisy. I give you right in low light, because it lets more light into the lens, and if you are inside, you would see the lights flicker and that is because the camera can see what we cant. NO, I thought about being nice, not giving you thumbs down. I am sorry. its a thumbs down.

Actually holding the phone in normal "USE" position makes it easier to reach the FPS. Besides nobody forces them to must use the index finger. The middle finger can also be registered... I'm tired of that complain. Maybe Sony should release a video and show people how to handle the phone.

I often am confused by the hand positioning argument with the fingerprint sensor, never in my "normal" holding of my phone are any of my fingers anywhere near where any of the sensors are placed! In fact none of them touch the back if my phone! Thumb on one side, three fingers on the opposite side and pinky on the bottom edge, to be honest I have a smartwatch and utilise Android's smart unlock so never have to use any password or biometrics anyway but even if I had to use a fingerprint sensor muscle memory would serve eventually and a "curl" of the index finger for the tip to hit the sensor would still work without having to adjust the grip.

Usually really enjoy your reviews, but with this one you seemed way too biased and lowballed the phone.

Please stop discredit phones without that stupid notch!! They should be PRAISED for not hopping on that annoying and fugly phone "trend"!!! The notch isn't a good design choice, it's a compromise, and a very bad one at that!!

Best review Sir. But we would love to see a competition between the iPhone xs,note 9 nd Xperia xz3 please Sir.

Beautifully shaped & designed like the Samsung Edges

Really loved the Sony Xperia XZ Premium (especially compared to the fact I am now on a Samsung Galaxy s8) with its proper flagship feel, fun slow mo vids and brilliant battery life and have been a fan of Sony phones since the early Android days and wish I still had my Sony Xperia Z as my backup phone But why...oh why...Sony did you drop the headphone jack?!?! Also weird to see other slating the likes of Apple and Google doing the same but when Sony does it, its ok....hmmm...Sony fanboys will always be blind fanboys i guess

My opinion Something to be change? *Fix Copy Style* By welli 1.copy frame from xa ultra. 2.the main screen as full size as xz3 but little bit change with copy style from iphone xs and little bit change with copy style dsgn speaker from XA1=the main screen represent as shape of (H)=speaker A top and B at the bottom. 3.secondary camera,sensor,litte dot, must be side by side of the speaker. 4.the back case copy same of xperia xz F3882. 5. primary lens for the back case copy style from xz5 but second lens must beside of the primary and the sensor copy style from XZs and decorat 19mp or 23mp with X-mo as a label near the sensory. 6. Fingerscan as copy style from XZ2 (H8296) within labeling XPERIA must be at the center Maybe😇

i think the xperia xz3 looks awesome! Yes, the fingerprint sensor is poorly placed and the bezels aren´t as good as say Samsung´s, but the rest is just delightful... Even the little metal touch on the back looks very nice

if I would need a new phone XZ3 would be on the list, but I think in the future when I will need a new phone I will buy a Sony phone since I like them as an overall package and I hope that with XZ4 or XZ5 they will fix the stupid FPS placement

I'm don't know if I should get this or the note 9. I currently have the1st Xperia xz and have never had any problems with it. The battery's still going strong and it still seems to run as fast as it did one day one. On the other hand other Samsung galaxys I've had in the past seem to slow down after about 1 and a half years. I've also had problems with their touch screens in the past. I'm reconsidering the samsung now. What do people think note 9 or xperia xz3

Great video. I'm debating between the xz2 vs xz3. Is the camera exactly the same? How's the screen on xz2? It's about $200 difference in the U.S. I went with my friend and look at the OnePlus 6t from T-Mobile. Even though the sensor is made by Sony, I woldn't go for that phone. We tried the camera, taking the same pictures using the Sony XZ2 Ultra and the OnePlus 6t. The color on the XA2 Ultra is much cooler tone then the OnePlus 6t. The salesman said you can tell how good a phone is if you zoom it in and if it's clear, that means the camera is well made because it prodouces less noise. Zooming it in, the OnePlus fail miserably. It's blurry and not clear at all compare to the Sony XA2 Ultra. The OnePlus 6t is too much red-ish and yellow-ish. I don't like my pictures to look warm. There's no way the OnePlus can be a Sony phone especially when it comes to camera. If it can't even be as clear as the XA2 Ultra, how can it even top the XZ3. I would choose a Japanese made gadget over a Chinese made gadget anytime.

Got one today its a good phone the only disappointment is the brightness isnt great! Wish people would stop moaning about the fingerprint sensor ive had it for about 3 hours, and press it everytime once you get use to it its perfectly fine!

Thanks for the review. I loved the Z series, especially the Z3 and Z5. They went down hill from there, lost their touch completely, no waterproofing, and it was just all to shit. Yet now, my wife has the XZ2 and I must admit, after owning the Galaxy S8 and the Google Pixel 2XL I am jealous. It just feels perfect. So smooth. I want another Huawei P20 Pro, but money is obviously a no go for me. How are the bezels chunky? And the only reason the shutter button digs into ur hand is because ur not meant to hold it in portrait it's there for when u r capturing photos horizontally and then consider this is the only manufacturer left that provides a physical shutter button nobody else has criticised it

Yes I hear you, it's a great phone which has been timed and marketed extremely badly and so it kills one to not be able to fully enthusiastically recommend it without a stutter even when you really want to do that... Love this phone even if it takes Ques from S9 it does it better, in my opinion it's the second most good-looking phone, second to the note 9 (though I don't like note 9's back). I really truly hope Sony makes a comeback. It's so heartbreaking to see Sony phones vanishing from the market... Still if I get a chance, I'd still buy a Sony though cannot recommend...

The bezels are there for the speakers that are front facing. Apart from the Pixel, it's the only phone that offers this.

Im using Sony phones since year 2000 if i remember correctly when Sony was just "Sony" and had those phones with black and white screens and metal body .Then it became "Sony Ericsson" and now back to "Sony" again now. Apple is a strict no no, never really liked them. Sony has been the best friend for me so far.

Sony doesn't sell their phone in my country anymore :( though I'm using LG phone now i installed xperia launcher in it, sony's software always the best, and i miss the clear bass too :(

My only concern with the phone is the lack of band 30 for at&t but not a single reviewer even mentions connectivity issues. Is that because its not an issue or because they dont use at&t?
