The tabs to pull the battery adhesive broke so I had to pull the battery up and scrape the adhesive to free the battery, damaging the old battery in the process. Also if you don't remove the old adhesive from the back cover you will be layering the old one and the new one so the back cover does not sit flush anymore but thats not a big deal. Overall this guide is really handy but if you're doing this for the first time, just be extra careful.

Yes, I experienced the same thing. Ended up using the heat gun and prying the old battery up a little and scraping with a plastic tool across the adhesive underneath. Definitely tricky. Also had the suction pull ring on the battery too. Old battery now a bit deformed and dented. My replacement battery is smaller in footprint, so hoping the adhesive will keep it in place!

Hi, is the procces same as the x compact ? and could there be a change in radiation SAR while/after replacing battery or parts? because i heard in some Investigative tv channel that some shops who fix phones can cause it. false myth?.

Every part will be test before packing, however I'm sorry to tell you that the shipping forwarder now stop to carry parcel with battery :(

OMG. This is SO difficult. Why doesn't the battery just lift out like in my previous phones? .. I REALLY love my Xperia X... I thought of replacing & upgrading the phone, but new ones do not have all three stereo/earphone jack/FM radio. They have one or the other. Now I don't know what to do. This looks horrendous.

You can add some waterproof glue(like B-7000) after put on the back cover adhesive

Wit Rigs, Hi no its just the phones own microphone 🎤 that stops working all time, works on loudspeaker 📢 though, and then sometimes it's fine, other times not. Very strange, 👍

I have a Sony Xperia x and it's completely died on me one minute it would charge and then it died and now won't recognise the charge would you say that's a battery fault or a electrics fault it's only 4 months old and I'm.waiting for Sony to get in touch but trying to look for answers myself whilst waiting.

linziejo I’ve had mine for 4 years without any issue. Then one day, it was at 82% battery (at this point that battery has been showing signs of weakness and drainage even when the phone is off), and I drop my phone on the ground by accident. It has a cover and screen protector so I didn’t think much of it. I picked it up, and now it won’t even turn on.... Time to upgrade to a Samsung.

@@TKinfinity01 had mine for 6 years and only now the battery is starting to weaken, newer phones are obviously going to be better than this 6 year old thing but its perfect for me no way im upgrading im installing a new battery lol

I have lost the back cover and I don't know my battery is dead or not so do need back cover for turn it on plz rply😢

Why the hell doest it need lots of steps to replace the battery? The world had to regress to move forward 😞 EDIT: Turns out you don't need to remove all of those things. I just removed the battery connection then the battery itself, replaced with new one and now it's back to business 😄 So what's the reason for removing the motherboard? Maybe there's a chance to short circuit something or what?

Replacing the battery not an option then,,,

I'd rather let a certified cellphone repair show handle this process...
