No matter how nice you are to your cell phone... accidents happen, warranties expire, and sometimes you have to fix things yourself! Its time for the teardown video of the Sony Xperia XZ. One of the newest android phones from Sony.
Sony has done a FANTASTIC job with the XZ when it comes to screen replacements and battery replacements. Those two things are the first components to be removed from the cell phone after it has been taken apart.
The rest of the components, like the cameras and the charging port are still modular, and can be repairs, but its a little more complicated at that point. Check out the video to find out.

I still have a xz premium (released April 2017),still runs fine after 3 years. Sony could've done more with these phones buy they're pretty good. Ridiculously durable, it's been (accidentally) thrown around my kitchen a few times and dropped on tiles. Only ever needed a charging port replacement last year, battery lasts all day and charges in 1.5hrs

@@Brenan_Van_Hora im currently using xz for about 4 years, as far as durability goes the phone is rock solid, never had to replace any parts, but as far as software goes, the phone did start to lag a lot, and especially at low batteries and when it got heated up (which started to happen quite often), and just recently i had to replace the battery, other than that, its totally a good phone.

@@Brenan_Van_Hora using xz for around 3 years, its solid phone realy but mine has dead battery now. Ordered replacement and going to replace battery. Also screen if flickering when at 100% brightness. And while phone is not connected to charger, it is noticeabely solwer than when connected to charger. Its solid allrounder but not so good as my first sony, the sony xperia z which battery is still going strong after 7 years even after i accidentaly cycled over the phone, shattering its screen.
do the camera test between the Sony Xperia xz and iPhone 7
Appreciate your work and time you're spending on this. It's fun to watch and also helps me to pick phones that are easier to repair or are not so fragile. It's also interesting to see how different manufacturers approach the design. Oh yeah and i would love to see Honor 8 tested and torn apart :) Spec wise it seems it's just a copy of P9, but i saw some info that it's completely different internally and much harder to repair than the P9.
I really love your videos, you make a difficult job look simple and effortless. #Respecttheteardown.

No all phones. Need to be taken. Apart. Including Apple but Apple won't let you fix your phone. Just goes to show that the best phone. Is not the best when you can't. Fix it if I ever. Get the new experia 1 ile be buying replacement parts for it lol like screens. Battery. I might get a portable. Battery pack sony eats up a lot of juice for gaming. And such.

your channel is awesome man, but I hope you add drop test as a part of durability test. and I would like to see a camera comparison between the xz and iPhone 7 (specially video stability) keep it up
that phone is so beautiful ! And I use a S7 Edge. My choice of the most beautiful phones of 2016 : XZ , Honor 8 in blue and the dead Note 7.
Thanks jerry! This is a big help.
Great video,i know this is an old video too,but would appreciate you telling us what adhesive you use to restick the screen as i need to change my battery,Thanks.
Try a same video on the XPERIA X COMPACT. You'll love it for sure coz the motherboard and the battery are fixed onto the midframe similar to this device.
Cool! I have an XZ Premium that is fine except for the charging port being a bit loose and having a dodgy pin. Which I guess is quite major because the cable has to be inserted, then very, very carefully moved around until all pins get contact before it will charge. Once in the optimal position, it has to be left in that spot lest the plug lose contact and stop charging. I have a replacement though. Not a Sony. My daughter bought me an OPPO A53s which is a very good phone considering the price. I was advised by a repairer here in Australia that it would be "very expensive" to repair it. However, knowing enough about phone dismantling to be dangerous to myself and others, as well as having a sometimes problematic curiosity, I think I might source a replacement charging port and have a crack at fixing it. The worst I can do is break it.
Nokia 6 teardown please and yeah do a quick review too , thank you and keep up the good work .
good job. lot of help. thank you
Could you do a tear down Video of the UE Megaboom?
Hello,Zack greetings from Bulgaria! You should do durability test on some of the Meizu's phones like MX6 or pro 6 :)
really looking forward to the S8/S8 plus teardown. if the back is as easy to remove like the s7 then I will eventually replace my midnight black back glass with a coral blue or some cool color variant that comes out later on
Awesome thanks Jerry!
Hey Jerry. How excited are you for tear down of Oppo Find X? I am eagerly waiting. Plz do make a tear down video as soon as you get hands on the device. Thank you.
will you ever do a gear s2 or gear s3 test/teardown? would be interesting to see how durable they are.
really love your video and your voice
If you happen to land the new XZ and XZ Premium that would be awesome... I'm in the market to possibly pick one up just for the 960 fps camera and the HDR screen. I hope it can hold up better than last years model. Thank You
You have to do a camera EIS vs OIS comparison apparently sony did a really great job.
Hey Zack . Can you do durability test for the sony xperia XZs as soon as it comes out . thanks
is there a way to make the phone water resistant again after disassembling it? or even increasing the water resistance? (maybe coat the internals with something like dielectric grease or apply a sealant to the seams?)
Any chance you could show some drone repairs I know that's world's away from phones but I like your style of tear down vids
I know it's an old phone but Xperia M4 Aqua screen broke today and it would be nice if you would do a video on how to replace the screen. It's not something that big of a thing because I can use my mom's phone until that and I will probably get a new phone too but it would be nice to get it fixed because the replacement screens don't seem to be expensive at all. If not I can just find a tutorial that someone else made but your videos are always the best and you explain everything so well and clearly so it would be nice to see a video from you :)
love the videos man, keep up the great work. I have a request, I am a construction worker and put my phone through some punishment. so I am considering a phone like the cat s60 or the numo s30. is it possible to test a phone like this to see how durable they really are?
