What's the difference between the 1000 and the 1500? Just installed a 1000 (best buy) in my son's vehicle but then saw the 1500 priced for less (Walmart). FYI, had to get an antenna wire adapter for this stereo to older GM

@@louofm1I just bought the 1500 and it seems like the 1000 has Apple car play and the 1500 doesn’t. The 1500 has weblink which I really don’t care for because it doesn’t allow me to use Apple car play.

@@Imperial215 FYI, not sure about the 1500 but the 1000 (with Apple car play) does not have a rear USB connection point, just a front face. I was planning on installing a USB connection in the dash, so that the phones could interface but was unable. Unfortunately will now have to connect it with the wired connection on front. Blue tooth is available but you have more functionality by connecting apple carplay with the wire. There is no android play with the 1000. Got the 1000 on sale for about $220 right around the holidays, at best buy

I chose this radio because it has the usb and aux in the front. But I didn’t realize the 1500 doesn’t allow me to connect to car play VS the 1000. It’s funny because I was looking at the 1000 first and then went with the 1500 thinking it was the same but just a little newer

Very nice review. Most just read specs and features but don't show actual functioning of the unit. We can read spec and features our self. I have subscribed as this 'How it works' review is so missing on KZread reviews of a lot of products. Would like to see how this unit displays MP3 folders and files for selecting music either with a USB drive/Media player/cell phone. Please add this to your presentation for future units. Could you comment and show if it can be dimmed (especially for night driving) or even have a screen-off while playing music.

hey curious on what double din surround mount you installed. after installing radio i have a little bit of a gap on my 2004 silverado. is there a double din mount you bought with?

I want to power my camera with the reverse circuit but it would be cool to have a small button or switch on the dash that powers the camera when ever i want too. I think it would be easy, just might need a diode from the reverse circuit to prevent current flowing back from ignition into the reverse circuit. Ever heard of someone trying that?

Do you know if you can program this radio to be compatible with the configuration of a Toyota Avalon since my air conditioner and other accessories are controlled via the radio? Thanks a lot for this video.

Question for you. I have this radio but the EQ option will not come up is it only in settings then sound that I access it?

If the reverse camera is wired up to the ignition, does the camera still show and disappear automatically when you put it in reverse or will I have to manually press the 'Rear Camera' button since it's wired up to the ignition?

Just ground it otherwise if your stereo plays movies it wont play them its a safty thing to make sure youre car is in park so your not driving and watching a movie

@@MarcoLovesPollo if you dont ground the parking break wire it wont let you watch movies its so that the radio "knows" or "thinks" your in park its a safty feature to keep you from driving around and watching a movie is all so if you just ground it somewhere the radio will 'think' youre always in park so youll always be able to play a movie and for what device you use to play the movie usb dvd what not wont matter as long as its grounded anywhere but to the parking break.

How many speakers can be hooked up to this? I have four in the front, two rear and sub...

You can hook up any number of speakers, but there are only two audio channels and one sub channel. So you will need to use splitters to connect to more speakers. For the best sound you'll also need a DSP to do time alignment, this head limit is fairly basic when it comes to audio setups.

hey mate, depends on your car, if it has its own proprietary slot that the stock radio fits perfectly into and not just the standard size your going to need an adapter kit. try searching (your car) double din adapter kit. if it has the standard double din rectangular size already it should fit.

Can you watch movies/tv shows with a usb drive?

If you just have one sub and not two just connect only one of the ports and turn the sub up 6 dB. if not use a splitter and again turn the sub up 6dB. The 6dB rule is because normally the sound from left and right would add up but since you're splitting the signal or just using one you'll have to compensate for it not adding up. If you have two subs just split the signal and connect both. In most music except classical it won't matter much because most low end Is mono anyway.

Does this have android auto?

Any idea if this radio will work with a Samsung phone, android?

I know that the 1000 works with Apple car play but doesn't have Android. It does have Bluetooth. Someone else said that the Sony 1500 is similar but for Android

Bluetooth works for some things like music ...but I think you lose.full functionality like maps via Bluetooth. Wired connection retains all carplay functionality

Can I use the Sirius XM app on my iPhone and play Sirius XM through the stereo? I don’t wanna have to buy the XM receiver if I don’t need to.

my backup cam only seems to work when I press the button, it doesn't turn on on its own when I put it in reverse.

Demo is that first thing you saw where there was a bunch of features popping up on the display instead of the actual Home Screen

Do not buy this! You can barely see the screen during the day, especially if you use Apple car play and google maps. On top of that the lag is horrendous. My $100 Android unit had better functionality and features than this!

I recently purchased this product. It has very good screen brightness during the day. I’ve not noticed screen lag. I’ve been very happy with this unit, and it made the stock speakers sound really good.
