I tried finding the 7x on Amazon but it wasn't there. A SteelSeries Arctis 9X did show up on Amazon. Do you know if the 9x also works for Xbox Series X and PS5? And do you know any differences between the 7x and the 9x? Also, do you plan to do a comparison video of gaming headsets that work with both next gen consoles? The Arctis 7x is the first one that I heard works with both consoles. Are there any others or is this my only option? Thanks.

It's really cool that you take the time and effort to respond back to nearly everyone! I got the Pulse, but haven't had a chance to really try them out yet cuz my PS5 is still downloading games on my crappy internet. I had the Arctis 1 Wireless before, hopefully this is better. I wish there was a type C port on the 7X though. Then I might consider it.

Hey Adam. I'm hoping to for sure, but my PS5 is a week delayed, so other reviewers might have theirs up. I am however going to do another mic test with these headsets tomorrow. Wired and wireless for both. I've heard the Pulse 3D loses clarity over wireless. I'll find out.

Would this headset support the tempest 3D audio on the ps5? And if so are both the pulse 3D and articseries 7p the only headsets to support 3D audio? (Are there any more headsets that support 3D audio?) Thanks

They both support it and other headsets are definitely going to be compatible with the new 3d audio in the PS5. You'd have to Google your mic and see if it supports it.

Your Turtle Beach is a great headset. If it takes advantage of the 3d audio, I wouldn't switch yet. I don't think you'd notice enough of a difference to warrant a change. I think the newer headsets are better, but I don't think you'll be missing out yet.

Coming from a playstation gold and a platinum headset, I went with the arctis. After many hours of headset migraines, the comfort of the arctis 7p was a game changer. I do not like the micro usb charger or the lack of chatmix, but it's not that big of a deal. Great review! Subscribed!

Thank you. I love hearing someone using the same headset as me and then getting an upgrade and feeling the same way. The 7x/ 7P are a huge comfort upgrade. I wish it used USB C as well. The chat mix isn't as important to me either. I feel like the PS5 is gonna be so fast, that a quick menu screen will be easy to access if I need it.

Update!!!! These work amazingly well on the PS5 and the Arctis 100% utilizes the tempest audio technology.. I still recommend Arctis even on PS5.......I apologize for the Audio blips and the autofocus issue. By the time I realized it, it was way too late to re edit everything. I forgot to manual focus my camera and the audio thing was just my editor being weird. Anyways, which headset are you liking more?l

The new Arctis 1 Xbox edition is newer the the Arctis 7 u are using and the new Arctis 1 Xbox edition is the one Microsoft is promoding for the next gen Xbox. You can also go Arctis 9x 👍🏻 if you really wanna push the battle. And ofcouce om Xbox set it on Atmos or DTS X. Sony's Tempest Sound engine is not Better then Atmos or DTS Headsphones X. It's the same. But thats my take on it. Why i am saying this is because this showdown makes No sence to me. But thx for the video anyway.

The main advantage I would notice from other headsets, is the materials they use on the steelseries, I’ve had plastic headsets in the past, and they are miles bellow quality as compared to the steelseries.

You are correct about other headsets getting 3d audio. Sony has created this unique tempest audio system that is supposed to make gaming sound more immersive and 3d like. They created a headset specifically designed for it, but other headset manufacturers have also made headsets that will take full advantage of this new audio. This headset has a 24 hour battery life and the Sony Pulse 3d has 12. The Pulse 3d uses a USB c to charge and the Arctis 7x/7P uses Micro USB. They both have noise canceling mics and are comfortable. The Arctis is much more comfortable however. Both have cushioned ear xups, but the Arctis uses a fabric whereas the Pulse 3d uses a Faux leather material. They both have 3.5mm headphone jacks that can be used on anything with a 3.5mm plug in.

These camera angles killing me. Get a friend to zoom in on the headsets while you wiggle them in front of you 😭👏 Great reviews tho. I Needed the "Vs" for the PS5 Headset. I knew the Sony PS Headsets still feels cheap and the headband not good and have bad sound if the settings are messed up. But of course sound design also matters on the game itself. Ooh, ooh... The microphone on the PS Headsets tho... I forgot that it used 2 Mics on either side... LOL 9/10 If you want good chat mic😭😭😭💀

I bought the new ps headset yesterday and I was going to do the same thing. I tested it on my new Series S and it was shoddy at best. I ended up returning them. I tried it on my PS4 pro to make sure it wasn’t the headset and the headset worked fine for the PS4.

Did you change any eq settings on the Steelseries? I just got the 7P and just plugged it in on the ps4 and played warzone but couldn't quite hear footsteps clearly or hear them from far distance with good directional audio. I'm using the custom eq it comes with

I didn't change any settings at all and My first game with the SteelSeries I got a Dub in solos. I could hear it way better than my Playstation Golds. I'm not sure what setting would need to be updated. I just plugged and played

My lord the mic on the pulse will definitely pick up background sound and that’s the main reason I can’t wait to replace mine. I hate the dual mic ideas that ain’t been doing with these, just get a damn extended mic. The quality feels cheaper than $100. It’s definitely a temporary headset until more companies actually make some headsets for the next gen. Good review 🙏

From my end the 3d pulse sounded natural, where the steel was likely too close, amping undesired sounds. Actually the cheap ones sounded best to me, but i doubt a test like this is going to be reliable. Too many unknown variables. At least with mic test for us. They sounded totally diff, but like he commented, likely identical in use.

I returned the Pulse 3D and went with the 7X. Waiting for it to be delivered right now. But main reason was because after a while my scalp and ears both hurt from using the pulse. The rubber band you mentioned definitely got more and more uncomfortable over time. I also felt that the bass muffled other sounds too much. Other reason was battery life. I did not get even close to 12 hours on a full charge. More like 9. The 7X on the other hand has a 24 hour battery life. If in real use it has even just twice, like 18 hours, that's a big selling point for me. Having to charge every couple times sucks. I found the code OWNZ to use on steel series website for a 12% discount. No idea where it's from but worth knowing.

I believe it will only worked while plugged in. I don't think it will work wirelessly. You are better off with the Arctis 7x. It works with both.

Great video! What would you say, which headset works better with big ears? I heard the Pulse 3D is rather for small ears, so Im wondering how it is for the arctis (my ears are about 6.7 cm top to bottom) Hoping for an answer 🙏

Wireless it sounds quite different. I did a new test on a recent video

The GameStop mic sounded the best by far when connected to the phone. It was much more natural.

Great review man. Thank you. I have the turtle beach 520’s had them for years. Big thing for me is the game/chat audio function. It’s so useful when you can decide how loud or quiet you want other people’s mics to sound instead of going in to the games settings and messing with it that way and it’s a shame the ps5 doesn’t allow it to work on the older headsets. Definitely getting the Pulses as it has the game/chat function.

Not being able to change the volume levels on chat vs gameplay on the steel series is a dealbreaker. Especially if I have to pay more money to not have that functionality. I’ll be getting the Pulse 3D instead.

Thank you so much. The SteelSeries is just a better headset. Sony has a great price point and a solid product, but Arctis 7 is better.

I’m liking this video dude, I’ve wanted a headset with a retractable/removable mic for some time so my Arctis 7X are already on their way! 😁 Is there still the option to play wired in to the controller if that improves the mic at all for when I actually bother using it?

I just myself a pair of the steeleseries so Im gonna wait some time to see how they break in but I think an updated video about how the pulse 3d headsets break in after a month or so would be nice to see if I should get another steeleseries headset or the pulse 3d for my brother. Thanks for watcbing!!!! Yes, I believe the Pulse just plugs in through USB. The 7x is great, but if you don't have a good headset, then Pulse is just fine.

A truly amazing video!!! Just one recommendation. You gotta work on those transitions man. I noticed your audio cut when you made a couple transitions between different angles.

Hey thanks Ulisses!!! Ya those transitions are absolutely terrible. If you watch my other videos, they aren't like that. For some reason my editor decided to mess with all my transitions once I exported it and I was basically forced to let it go or go back and try to fix every cut. I took the easy way out and let the audio blips stick around. Thanks for watching and popping in. Come back and watch some other stuff sometime.

Honesty, for the $25 I paid, it's a great backup headset and mic. It's a new brand at Gamestop and it's not bad at all.

Both sound like great headsets, but the deciding factor for me is the 7X working on the Series X, PS5, Switch and PC for me.

That was honestly mine as well. I did a lot of research making sure there wasn't something I was missing, but every site says the P and X are identical, except the P doesn't work on Xbox. Unless you are absolutely never going to play a Microsoft console, the X is the way to go.

The pulse 3D is wireless on pc, switch and ps4/ps5, you would have to use the 3.5 on the series x, but it would still work

Hey! Ive been seeing in a bunch of videos that the Pulse 3D's mike quality drops without it being plugged into a device, Ive seen it unplugged on a ps4 and on discord and it sounds REALLY different than seen in this vid. Think you can try it out and let us know if you hear a difference?

I have the Arctic 7x. It’s the best headset I’ve ever had by far. The Pulse 3D seems like a cheap $30 headset with Sony branding.

The Arctis definitely has that premium feel. The Pulse 3D isn't bad by any stretch, but the Arctis 7x/p is just so much better

Personally the pulse mic sounds a lot better than I thought even better that the steel series

@@greent26tube It's actually great. I adjusted the volume and it blows my eardrums out and the mic is also plenty loud.

That micro-usb port is a deal breaker for me. Going for the PlayStation Pulse 3D headset for the USB-C charging. Going to be weird using a pulse 3D headset on my Xbox Series S. At least the white headset fits perfectly with my white Series S.

I like the PlayStation Pulse 3D. They are good for what they are. I had the golds as well and the pulse is way better. I haven’t use a steel series before though

There isn't a bad choice. I like Arctis better, but the Pulse are still great headphones.

Great job! Did you test the mics' noise cancellation? Like if there's a constant noise in the background, how much of that is filtered?

I didn't test it with a fan, but I fid have my pc about 2 feet away as well as a space heater. They were drowned out pretty well. From other reviews, I have heard both do a decent job with background noise

Bought the pulse 3d today and took it back today. Sound is so so muted on it. No bam or boom period everything flat. And on top of it all if you put the dongle behind the ps5 every time you turn your head it cuts out. The front usb works with it fine. To give you an idea of the sound its like buying a set of pc gaming headsets and putting them on and they sound dull and flat until you download the EQ software and update them and wow big difference well they sound like the before. So I took my Razer Nari from my pc hooked it up and its wonderful.If you dont believe me go to walmart buy them then when you found out how bad they sound take them back. I think the Razer Nari Essentials version thats I think 99 as well will be a lot better .

@@TelesplashGaming My question, and probably the deciding factor in buying them, is how much more, if at all, the Pulse headset takes advantage of the Tempest 3D audio tech, seeing as it is optimised for the PS5. If the Arctis cans are comparable, I'll probably go with them due to their superior comfort, but if there's a significant difference in how well the 3D audio plays out with the Pulse then they'll likely be my choice. Whether the whole "optimised for PS5" spiel turns out to just be marketing fluff or not will be the real test for me I think.

I think this is a great review but I think the one thing you forgot that’s pretty important is how well the microphones filter and block out outside noise.

That's definitely true. I should have put a fan next to me and found out how it does.

The biggest different is the equalizer software that comes with it. Sony doesn’t have an equalizer software while Steelseries you can download an equalizer software and has customized settings for the type of games you play. To me that is a game changer. The reviewer forgot to mention that part and his review is based on the default settings of the headset.

You are correct. I didn't mention it in this video because I assume most gamers are gonna plug it in and go!!!! Some will take advantage of the software, but out of the box, which one is better? Either way, Steelseries has my vote.

@@roberthood7650 I already updated my pinned comment. They both utilize the 3d audio, but since the Steelseries is better in general, it's also better with the Tempest Audio technology. But yes, it does matter to a point, but since the Steelseries is better overall, it's also better when newer technology is available.

@@sergiocuriel4597 They audio quality is the same regardless of system. I have a PS5 and the Arctis still sounds better because it utilizes the 3D Audio. Both are good headsets though.

Battlefield and Fortnite. And I was happy when Fortnite added 3D audio because I couldn't hear which side they were to me and I enabled it because I like to hear from what I heard many years in Battlefield 4. My headset gets done with the compatibility for Xbox 1, PlayStation 4 and PC. And I don't like the mics that you have to pull out or that's built on to the side of the headset because I keep my mic piece in the box when my friends joins the lobby

Awesome video. Thanks for this. I was going to get the 7X from what my friend told me about it. He likes it, but now that I know the Chat/Game adjuster doesn't work, it's off the table. Maybe I'll get the 7P though or just go with the 3D Pulse. Suppose if I randomly see one in store it'll probably win. If I have to order online, who knows. As for the consoles, I'm getting both the XSX and the PS5.
