I have the PRS-505 and love it! Like others have said, it's purely for Ebooks (and audio) with no other distraction. Simplicity in it's finest form. I showed it to my nephew and it took a while for him to get around the buttons to navigate the device :D

I use one of these still. I swear by it because it doesn't have any 'frills' - just books and reading. My paper books don't have wifi, so my ereader doesn't. I do wish there was a backlight mod for it though. I've also used Paperwhite, Oasis, Kobo's Aura One and yet I've come back to this, partly due to budget but also because it's just so darn nice to read on. Pros of the unit: no distractions from reading, really solid feel with the aluminium chassis and expandable with both slots. Cons: page turns and loading can be slow sometimes, limited typeface sizes (although I always use S) and no backlight (although I use a Kandi clip on light instead)

There is a cover for 505 with led light on top of the screen to illuminate whole screen. Looks weird.

The PRS 505 is one of the best non lit displays they ever put out. To this day it's still quite functional if you don't mind installing books by USB. I think KOBO still supports it (not sure). Sony transferred my account to Kobo. I still have all my Sony readers but now I mostly use my LikeBook Mars.

I've had one of these for a while, great for fanfiction!

How long does it charge for?

This was a long time ago now and haven't used it since but would usually be really fast, under an hour, but this was second hand so battery could have been on its way out

For the price under 30 its good buy as that's the price of maybe 5 books while this can give you alot more ...
