Which one would you pick? Sony 20mm f1.8 G or Sony 24mm f1.4 GM??

I went 20mm for wider view. Both amazing lens. To me it’s easier to crop than to widen a shot. 1.4 is nice but 1.8 still very good too.

I think for photography the 24mm is the way to go -- 24mm is the sweet spot for wide FOV imo. However, 20mm is a better choice if you are shooting in 4K @ 30fps because of the crop factor. The 20mm turns into a 24mm FOV at 4K @ 30fps because of the crop factor.

Conquer Fitness Yeah, that's the thing. Even if there is f1.4, I don't use it that much unless it's super dark. 1.8 is always enough.

Kensei Akatsu yeah I think 1.4 vs 1.8 is almost negligible. The next big step up for low light technology will probably be the release of the A7siii.

Well, 24-70 is a very handy but never wins against a prime lens such as 24mm GM.

Seems like you shoot a lot of your videos at home in your office. IMO you made a great choice going for the Sony 24mm as it's f1.4, better in lowlight. You won't be doing much walking so you don't really need the 24-70, unless you had other video ideas.

The perfect wide lens IMO would be the F1.4 aperture as well as all the other perks of the 24mm on a 20mm lens, 20mm is ideal for me to compensate for the 4K @ 30fps crop.

20mm, that was a good wide lens for many reasons. But I love GM's color better.

Kensei Akatsu does the GM produce better colours? I never would have thought the lens had such an impact on colours and it was primarily the sensor that controlled this.

do you think it's worth swapping sigma 2470 2.8 to this for the size and 1.4? Ive got a 50mm and 85 and thinking if adding this GM will be an improvement from using 2470 2.8 sigma art.

Hi Kensei, which lesn i better Sony FE 24-70mm f/2,8 GM or Sony FE 16-35mm f/2,8 GM for make a video like b-roll /commersial /cinema look /nice colors and without problems with AF (like 24mm f/1.4 GM have) Thanks!

If you use it for many situations, I'll recommend 24-70mm GM. It depicts really well, and has good AF.

Well, there will be many situations and conditions in a wedding, so if it's me I'll get 24-70mm GM or Sigma to handle everything.

Would you recommend me get the gm 24mm or the g 20mm? Is the extra $500 worth it?
