The final comment about using a gimbal is a really important detail to point out.

Good with my 1.4. Especially since I’m not professional. I couldn’t justify a jump of .2 in aperture

1:51: 1.4 has MFD 1.41 not 1.1

Great detailed comparison. I ordered both and will see if the weight of the f1.2 is more than I want to deal with. That's really the primary decider for me, as they're so close otherwise.

@@fluxcapacitor3273 They’re sooo close. I was soo tempted to keep the f1.2, just because it was the 1.2 but I went with the f1.4. I found it a hair sharper and the weight difference was noticeable. If you can get past the ‘Fomo’, the f1.4 is the better buy in my opinion. And I felt I would opt to carry it more because of the weight. But I debated a lot on this one.

A great review. I've watched other reviews of the same lenses, but this one's the best.

I own the 1.2 but it’s heavy. I tried it to shoot veil shots and the last wedding I did and i think it’s uncomfortable trying to hold the veil with one hand and the camera and lens with the other. For this reason I would prefer the 1.4 version.

Hi, I think both options are great and there will always be people saying the 1.2 is better while others will swear by the 1.4. The truth is somewhere in between, but without a doubt the 1.4 is the better value, being cheaper & more compact, to a greater degree that it is optically inferior compared to the 1.2. I am not a very strong individual ,therefore, I prefer the 1.4 as well & I never expected this lens to be released after the 1.2, had I known I probably would have waited for the 1.4 instead. For those who shoot video hand held without a doubt the 1.4 is the way to go, cheers.

The 50mm 1.4 gm feels like my 24mm 1.4 gm. Very light and forget its there.

They’re both great probably the 1.4 better for video. I was struggling to get the 1.2 balanced on the gimbal 😅.

Everyone seems to complain about its weight but it’s lighter then both the Cannon and Nikon’s 1.2’s.

direct sunshine can kill or give damage yo camera sensor

Hi, thanks for that. From my experience it requires long exposure to sunlight so that the camera lens will act like a magnifying glass. Otherwise taking video/photographs of the sun won’t yield any damage, thanks👍

Of course.. 50mm f1.2 very good…

A GM lens, with such a proper price tag, and made in a communist power, not aceptable Sony, that’s a big NO THANKS
